Getting Involved
Skill : Learning to play the piano
January
2011
Practised scale and Arpeggios daily, learnt another new
song for grade 7. I enjoyed the pieces played. Getting
the fingering right was a challenge. I overcame it by
practicing for an hour daily and felt a sense of
accomplishment towards the end of the month. My
piano teacher praised my progress. I planned to
achieve my grade 7 by Feb 2012
February
2011
I made progress again. The daily discipline of playing the
scales and what is required for the exam was worth the
while. I can now play the piece smoothly. Hooray. I was
praised by my teacher for clear articulation. : )

Service to the Library
5 hours
(record on
the Right
hand column)
Upon getting instructions from the librabrian on my duty, I set
about my task rigourously. It thrilled me to see my work after
hours of categorizing, wiping and packing them into the
respective shelf so that others can find what they are looking for
with ease. I learnt “no pain, no gain.” Hard work led to
satisfaction.

Keep Fit
I got really excited about keeping fit for 8 to 10 weeks. Started putting
down my plans to stay fit weekly. It looked like this : Monday : jog, Wed :
Swim, Fri : Play Badminton, Sunday : Tennis
Each day : warm up for 20 min, keep fit for 20 min, warm down for 20
min. I made it this week. I feel fit and strong and more energetic.
This week it looked like this : Monday : brisk walk, Wed : Cycle, Fri :
Roller blade. Sunday : Kayaking. Its fun to have a plan and keep to it.
Its especially fun when I get to know my keep fit friend better. My body
seems to be strong.
School work piled up. I am getting worried if I could stick to my
commitment.
