abrasive blast room recovery system with screw
The Reference in Surface Treatement abrasive blast ROOM recovery system with screw conveyor and bucket elevator The Reference in Surface Treatement This sytem is perfect for large abrasive blast rooms, with unlimited recovery pits lenght or number, associated to a powerful recovery system. ISTblast is a leader in its field in design, fabrication and installation of abrasive blast rooms. Depending on your surface treatment requirements, we can provide a complete turn-key solution including a new room, or provide the necessary equipment and technical support to guide you in the self manufacturing of your room. This option makes it possible to save substantially on your construction expenses. With minimal to no maintenance required, the ISTblast Screw Conveyor System will provide a safe and efficient indoor surface treatment environment, independent of outdoor weather conditions. The result is a safer environment for the operators as well as providing protection against harmful sandblasting dust. The ISTblast Screw Conveyor System system feature the safest and most effective process in surface treatment while recycling most popular abrasives such as glass bead, aluminum oxide, steel shot, and steel grit. Manufacturers achieve substantial consumption savings of abrasives (recycling rates of 95% and more can be realized). R.O.I. (Return on investment) Recycling abrasives will enable the user to achieve considerable savings in abrasives consumption while protecting the environment from harmful sandblasting dust. Steel grit abrasives can be recycled and used up to 100 times compared to only on use with the nonrecyclable media. The non-recyclable sandblasting abrasives are low in cost but they can only be used for one sandblasting cycle. Because of their fragile molecular structure, they deteriorate quickly while generating harmful sandblasting dust and significantly reduce the visibility of the operators. They will be able to analyze your needs and evaluate all the technical and financial benefits associated with our recovery and recycling systems. 11-04-2014 Sandblasting rooms 2 The Reference in Surface Treatement How it works Air wash Bucket elevator To dust collector Lightings Storage hopper Walls (rubberized) Small particles disposal barrel Doors Screw conveyor Pressure vessel Recovery pit Floor Canablast rooms mechanical recovery systems come complete with enclosure, bucket elevator, airwash abrasive cleaner, media storage hopper and cartridge dust collector, Blast pot and 4 stage air breathing system. Most commonly used for shot blasting or shot peening, our bucket elevator recovery systems can be configured with one or two blast pots, or as a stand-alone unit to use with your existing sand blast pot. Vibrating screen is available as an Option. Canablast bucket elevators can process up to 200 cubic feet per hour of dense and coarse media, such as steel grit and steel shot. Our hopper and bucket elevator recovery systems can be flush mounted for easy loading by placing the bucket elevator and hopper in a small pit. recyclable Abrasives Type of abrasive Hardness Durability Density Glass Beads SAE Steel Shot 50-60 Rc (5-7 Mohs) 42-65 Rc (6-8 Mohs) 5-8 cycles 2500-3500 cycles 2.6 g/cc 7.4 g/cc Stainless Steel Shot Plastic Media Aluminium oxide Ultra Soft Shot 20 Rc (work hardens to 60 Rc) 3-4 Mohs 50-65 Rc (5-7 Mohs) 3-3.5 Mohs 3500-4500 cycles 4-6 cycles 25-40 cycles 6000-7000 cycles 7.0 1.5 3.7 7.4 11-04-2014 Sandblasting rooms g/cc g/cc g/cc g/cc 3 The Reference in Surface Treatement recovery floors : from simple to sophisticated Canablast offers recovery floors to meet almost any budget and production requirements. The sweepchute foor below, for instance, delivers the economic and environmental benefits of media recycling at a reasonable cost. The reclaim system is determined by the type of abrasive being used, (screw conveyor vs. vacuum reclaim), your production requirements and budget. Full reclaim floors are more costly but provide continuous automatic recycling of abrasive. Partial reclaims and corner boxes require the operator to sweep the abrasive to the reclaim system. If your parts are to be handled by forklifts, the reclaim system must accommodate heavy floor loading. Canablast’s partial floors are available in single screw module, ‘‘H’’ or ‘‘U’’ shape designs. If you required a larger work area, the U-shape, which retrieves media from both sides of the room, can be expanded into an H configuration. Likewise , our fully-recovery floors, which eliminate the need for sweeping, can be expanded in modular fashion to handle work pieces of almost any size. Recovery system provides an most economical method for recycling media through the airwash system. Sweep/shovel-chute The economical floor reclaim system. It contains a single screw conveyor usually placed along the back wall of the blast room. This floor design is for low to medium production levels. Single Screw Reclaim 11-04-2014 Sandblasting rooms 4 The Reference in Surface Treatement recovery floors : from simple to sophisticated (CONT’d) ‘‘U’’ shaped The ‘‘U’’-shaped partial reclaim system adds two longitudinal metered screw conveyors along each side wall of the blast room and positions the cross screw along the back wall of the blast room. The position of the screw conveyors allows the abrasive delivered from the blasting nozzle, which is either blown or rebounded off the work piece, to strike the side and back walls of the blast room and fall into the reclaim system. A ‘‘U’’ shaped floor design will automatically reclaim 40 to 70% of the blast media. The remaining abrasive on the floor is pushed into the screw conveyors at the end of the work shift. The “U” shaped floor design is typically used in an “inout” room configuration where heavy work pieces and/or material handling devices can drive into the room. This is best suited for medium to high production shot blasting or shot peening. ‘‘H’’ configuration The ‘‘H’’ shaped partial reclaim system adds two longitudinal metered screw conveyor assemblies along each side wall of the blast room. The position of the screw conveyor assemblies allows the abrasive delivered from the blasting nozzle, which is either blown or rebounded off the work piece, to strike the side walls and fall into the screw conveyors, reclaiming approximately 40 to 70% of the blast media. The remaining abrasive on the floor is pushed into the screw conveyors at the end of the work shift. The screw conveyors are protected from an overload by metering shed plates. The «H»-shaped floor design is typically utilized in a «flow thru» room configuration where heavy work pieces or material handling devices can drive into the room and position the work piece on the steelcovered concrete floor located between the screw conveyors. This floor design is best suited for medium to high production shot blasting or shot peening. 11-04-2014 Sandblasting rooms 5 The Reference in Surface Treatement recovery floors : from simple to sophisticated (ENd) The full-floor reclaim system utilizes multiple screw assemblies to create a fully automatic abrasive reclaim system. 100% of the abrasive that is blasted is automatically reclaimed. The full-floor reclaim design requires that the material handling of the work piece be intricately designed into the configuration of the blast room. Material handling of the work piece includes a work car/ track system, an overhead monorail crane, an overhead bridge crane, or heavy-duty floor grating and support steel sized to allow a forklift to drive onto the reclaim floor. The full-floor reclaim design can be used with any room configuration and is best suited for high-production shot blasting or shot peening.
