protection, various forms of assistance for socially responsible
organizations, and improving the position of vulnerable groups.
The focus of the projects, which we implemented in 2010
with more than 50 partner organizations, was on education,
professional development for youths, as well as support to
cultural production and the development of art market.

number of youths that are involved in modern communications we developed the Internet for All project, with the Vračar
Municipality Youth Office in Belgrade, and started providing

changes and the role of companies in resolving
the issue of pollution and global warming. Around
50 participants, representatives of the media,
governmental and nongovernmental organizations,
and the most influential companies in Serbia, took part
in the discussion, which was held at the Telenor offices
in Belgrade. Important conclusions were adopted and
concrete steps for companies were presented, along
with relevant social and political elements, aimed at
reducing the impact of climate change.

Social Club for Youths with
Developmental Disabilities
Children and youths with developmental
disabilities in Kragujevac have gained their first
social club, as part of the Vukašin Marković
Special School for Primary and Secondary
Education. This project is the product of the
collaboration between Telenor and the Center for
Quality Education, and the creative workshops
that are held at the Club involve youths with
developmental disabilities as well as their peers
from regular schools.

Natural disasters and catastrophes demand urgent
assistance for those in jeopardy and swift reaction

consequences. Donations by SMS have proven to
be one of the simplest and fastest ways of raising
financial assistance, which is why during 2010 we set
up 16 telephone numbers for humanitarian purposes.

Four “humanitarian numbers” were activated in
cooperation with the Kraljevo City Administration and
other organizations, in order to raise funds for making
repairs after the consequence of the earthquake that
ravaged this city. We also donated funds to Kraljevo
and helped repair the Studenica Healthcare Center.

Telenor’s art calendar for 2011 is called 12 Codes and it represents the
online identities of 23 young Serbian artists. Through this concept we
pointed out the link between the real and the digital world, where an
increasing number of people communicate, work and spend time daily,
and which the art scene has moved to, and we wanted to once again
present artists who are not quite established, and who are creating
something special.
In addition to the printed version, our calendar this year is also available
in electronic form: a web page, widget and mobile version, making it
available to a broader audience through our web and WAP portal. The
“unlimited number of copies” draws attention to the new opportunities for
the existence of art in the virtual space, and its accessibility. In addition
to the great public attention that it created, the 12 Codes calendar also
won first prize at the Exhibition of the most beautiful Calendars, Greeting
Cards, at the Vojvodina Museum of Contemporary Art in Novi Sad.

ABOUT THE
TELENOR FOUNDATION
The Telenor Foundation was founded in March 2007. Being the largest
foreign investor in Serbia, through the Foundation our Company
continues to invest in Serbia and help develop its social potentials. We
strive to help overcome the challenges that Serbia society faces, which
is why the Foundation initiates projects that offer effective, sustainable
and developmental solutions throughout the country.
The project proposals that are submitted to the Telenor Foundation
([email protected]) are first reviewed by the Telenor social
responsibility team. The projects that meet the Foundation’s criteria
are then reviewed by the Foundation’s Managing Board, which decides
which projects will receive support.
The Managing Board convenes up to four times per year and ensures
that the principles of the Telenor Foundation are carried out consistently
and in compliance with the Statute, which was adopted when the
Foundation was established. The Managing Board is expected to select
projects in a transparent manner (by majority vote) and only those
that receive the sufficient number of votes are implemented. Minutes
are kept at the meetings, and are then sent to all the members of the
Managing Board, so that they can once more verify their decision.
The Managing Board has five members and two advisors, of which only
two are Company employees, with the remaining members and advisors
being distinguished members of society and prominent experts in a
number of fields. For more information on the strategy, activities and the

The projects that we launch through the Foundation are primarily aimed
at providing support for socially vulnerable groups, youths, youth
education and professional training, as well as development of the art
market, cultural and art production, and environmental protection.
Through the work of the Foundation we have successfully collaborated
with governmental and nongovernmental institutions, various
organizations and educational institutions. Our project partners are
required to submit monthly progress reports, and at the end of the
project they submit a detailed report on the results and effects, which is
then reviewed by the Foundation’s Managing Board.
In 2010 the Managing Board approved more than 20 projects, which we
launched in collaboration with more than 25 partner organizations. The
Company also took part and supported the implementation of a dozen
more socially beneficial projects.
