istoric Kennett Square encompasses one walkable square
mile of tree-lined streetscape sown with historic homes and
buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Historic
Kennett Square
for local flavor
dotted with funky
and fun, and where
one-of-a-kind
shops and delicious
dining options are
all here in one
square mile of
unique destination.
Just three miles from Longwood Gardens and other nearby Brandywine
Valley attractions, Kennett Square is your one-stop local destination.
When visiting, come hungry, as there are a number of dining options
available, and ample parking makes it easy to stay awhile and stroll the
streets to discover a collection of independently-owned chic shops and
galleries.
Kennett Square’s active nightlife hums with live music at the Kennett
Flash. At this live performance venue, BYOB is encouraged, and the
main draw is small crowds and rhythmic collaborations.
Find it all in here: Where all roads lead back to the square.

hat used to be a small village in 1705 still boasts small town intimate, where less
crowds and ample parking encourages lingering rather than hurry-through.
Here you can swing into boutique shops, sample home-made Mexican ice cream
or local wine, and take in live music: everything from rocking indie-bands to classic symphony
orchestras. - As one of Pennsylvania’s oldest neighborhoods, Historic Kennett Square is Chester
County’s hub for entertainment, arts and culture. A medley of artsy bistros and food markets peppered
throughout the one-square mile town offers food and drink experiences that’ll satisfy any craving.
- By Mid-May every Friday afternoon (throughout the growing season) Kennett Square’s
outdoor Farmers Market serves up local produce, hand-crafted goods and artisan products—
all available in the center of the town. On the first Friday of each month is the Art
Stroll, an evening dedicated to art galleries and shops that stay open late to host
special events and exhibits, along with restaurants presenting live music and
regional fare. - Multi-cultural happenings, parades and holiday promotions
keep the community buzzing with natives and visitors from
all over. In September, Kennett Square celebrates their
agricultural history with the nationally recognized Mushroom
Festival; October is for beer lovers tapped into the annual
Kennett Brewfest where craft breweries dispense frothy, cold
refreshment. And when it gets cold, horse-drawn carriage rides
and select shopping nights featuring discounts and choice
gifts make Kennett your buy-local destination.
