President’s Message
As I mentioned last month, our own Great
Lakes District of APICS will be hosting its
19th annual Student Case Competition on
February 21 and 22. We have 24 teams (our
limit) already signed up and ready to
participate. It is a busy and fun-packed
weekend for the student competitors and for
the professional members that attend. I am
looking forward to it. The winning team will
represent our district at the International
APICS Conference in New Orleans in
October. APICS hopes to have a team from
every district competing.
There is no meeting this month, but we hope
to see you in March. We will be having
presentations from grad students and their
professors at U W Parkside. Are you
interested in having a student as an intern?
You can find out more at the meeting on that
also.
Our CSCP certification class is running
currently (when the snow/cold does not
close the school!). Speaking of which, I
would like to share a short poem I received.
WISCONSIN POEM
It’s winter in Wisconsin
March 19
May 21
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty five below.
Oh, how I love Wisconsin
When the snow’s up to your butt

Communicator
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I’ll hang around
I could never leave Wisconsin
‘Cause I’m frozen to the ground.
See you in March!
