Precious metal semi-finished products
Your precious metal cycle with Heimerle + Meule Heimerle + Meule develops and manufactures machinery, equipment and chemicals for the on-site recovery by our customers of precious metals from drag-out rinses, spent electroplating baths and diluted stripper solutions. These products contribute greatly to the rationalization of the treatment processes and pay for themselves within a very short time. Our Electroclaim, Ionoclaim and Rhodoclaim system solutions facilitate the efficient on-site recovery of precious metals from precious metal bearing solutions. The pre- cious metal concentrates obtained in this way can then be professionally refined at our plant. The option of exchanging the precious metal yield for precious metal solutions and/or other precious metal products from Heimerle + Meule completes the precious metal cycle for our customers. This precious metal cycle, with its short routes, minimum precious metal wastage and reduced precious metal storage requirements, makes our customer’s purchasing and production processes considerably more costeffective. and specially designed range of electroplating units and systems for one-off and small-batch processing and for series production. Our products are mainly used in industrial production, goldsmiths’ and watchmakers’ workshops, schools, universities, institutes and laboratories. 24 With this pen plating unit, gold, silver and rhodium can be deposited with ease. The technique is economical and stain-free. The apparatus is particularly suitable for jewellery with complex geometries such as settings, rings, brooches, necklaces and watches which would otherwise have to be masked – a time-consuming and expensive procedure. Layers of approx. 0.1 – 0.2 µm can be deposited. JUNIOR 120 is very easy to operate: Using a pair of tweezers (cathode), attach the work to the pen plating unit. Dip the felt tip of the plating pen (anode) into the plating bath. Then apply the plating solution to the work, making sure that the tip only glides over the surface. When the plating is completed, rinse the plated part under running water and dry it. The various control options of the rectifier such as infinitely manual adjustment of voltage, timer and impulse controlled modes make the EP 200 quite flexible. Due to these features batch prodution as well as serial production can be executed. A dry heating protection is installed to monitor the bath level. If the solution drops below a preset level, the heaters turn off automatically. A heating and cooling system is integrated in the process tank holding the process temperature at the optimum level. 31 Jewellery colours Design and colour in the highest qualities ® Colour is once more restored to jewelry. Up to 1500 g of gold can be deposited on the three special cathodes in the unit’s electrolytic cell. These high deposition rates are due to the highly efficient current flow in the recovery cell and to Heimerle + Meule’s special cathodes. These features ensure that even low precious metal concentrations can recovered almost to the last milligram. The components of the Electroclaim unit – rectifier, pump and recovery cell – fit neatly into the compact housing, and the instruments and switches are ergonomically arranged on the console. Thanks to its selfsuction pump and the easily removable special cathodes, Electroclaim is particularly user-friendly. The subsequent recovery of the pure precious metal from the special cathodes is carried out professionally and economically at our own refinery. IONO CLA IM Precious metal recovery by ion exchange This is an extremely efficient procedure for the recovery of low and medium precious metal concentrations in spent precious metal baths, static and running precious metal drag-out rinses and precious metal stripper solutions. The recovery unit Ionoclaim can handle precious metals in the form of cyanide, chloride or sulphate compounds. with the resin beads and to empty it later, which was an awkward and time-consuming task. With the BES system you just change the bags. The resin in the bag is specially adapted to one type of precious metal. This maximises the working capacity of each bag. Bags are available with special resins for gold, silver, palladium, ruthenium and iridium. Thanks to Heimerle + Meule’s flexible Bag Exchange System (BES), Ionoclaim offers considerable advantages in terms of handling and logistics. In the case of a higher rhodium content, your rate of return can increase to over 800 %. R HODO CLA IM Precious metal recovery by means of chemical reaction The Rhodoclaim system developed by Heimerle + Meule has revolutionized the recovery of rhodium from spent rhodium-bearing baths and rinses. In the past, rhodium recovery could only be carried out at the refinery – with all the expense, time and effort the transport entailed. Rhodoclaim has changed all that. It is a user-friendly and extremely profitable system which allows you to recover the precious metal yourself. It even makes it possible to recover rhodium from solutions that have previously not been recycled at all. By doing so you reduce pollution and benefit financially. How the system works: Rhodium forms a compound with the newly-developed Rhodoclaim powder which means that you simply add the powder to the spent solution after adjusting the pH value – an extremely simple procedure. Rhodoclaim system After filtration and drying you send the rhodium-bearing extract to Heimerle + Meule. In this form, the consignment doesn’t even have to be classified as hazardous. * i.e. a low level of contamination of the bath and provided that the instructions for use are followed correctly. The Rhodoclaim system solution also includes analysis, professional processing and the recovery of the rhodium in our own refinery. In exchange for the rhodium extract you send us, you receive the proceeds of the recovered rhodium in the form of a financial settlement, rhodium baths or other Heimerle + Meule precious metal products. If you wish, we can open a free precious metal account for you. 8101 0 144 includes: n 500 or 1000 grams of Rhodoclaim powder n Folded filters n Measuring spoon n PH paper n Illustrated instructions for use n Shipping container for extract n Pre-refining precious metal analysis n Professional refining of the rhodium There is a charge of 1 1.50 for every gram of reclaimed rhodium 36
