I&E LACT SKID UPGRADE
PAUL PELLEGRIN - PROJECT MANAGER
Shamrock Energy Solutions recently
completed an upgrade to an existing
LACT system for Enterprise Products.
Our team was able to successfully
complete this project with minimal
downtime for the customer.
The Lease Automatic Custody Transfer
or LACT Unit is the critical system in
measuring the volume of crude oil and
petroleum products when it is being
transferred from the production site
to trucks, pipelines or storage tanks.
PLC Programmer & Electrical Engineer,
Jesus Sisto performing FAT of Omni Panel
For this upgrade, our electrical services
team designed and built a new Omni
panel with redundant PLC’s, upgraded
all end devices on existing meter runs,
and automated all valves. Shamrock was
also tasked with upgrading an actuator
on one of the shutdown valves, installing
new transmitters and HMI’s on the LACT
panel, as well as implementing auto
prove functions.
ENGINEERED FOR SUCCESS - CAREER DAY
LUKE JENSEN- SUBSURFACE INTEGRATION MANAGER
In June, Shamrock Energy Solutions
hosted a career exploration day called
Engineered for Success.
During this one-day workshop high
school and college students had the
opportunity to tour our facility, as well
as listen to and speak with industry
professionals to gain an inside glimpse
of what it’s like to be an engineer in the
E&P industry. Students also learned that
civil, structural, mechanical, petroleum,
chemical and geological engineering
are all interrelated and how each are
an integral part of the energy industry.
UL chemical engineering major, Katelyn
Breaux attended and said of the
workshop, ”I enjoyed this class because
it was very engaging and there were
plenty of opportunities for me to ask
questions. I could tell that Shamrock
was just as happy to be there as I was.
Most importantly, they explained the
business side and real-world application
of engineering, something that isn’t
necessarily covered in my college courses.”
Shamrock’s president and CEO, Jeff
Trahan looks forward to offering this
opportunity to students for years to come.

MEMORIAL DAY
WELLNESS PROGRAM- JUST FOR THE HEALTH OF IT!
DAVID SHORT- OPERATIONS MANAGER
JESSICA STEGALL - BENEFITS ADMINISTRATOR
Memorial Day is a time to remember
and honor our fallen heroes who paid
the ultimate price in order to keep our
country free and safe. We at Shamrock
Energy Solutions are truly grateful for
their sacrifice.
Shamrock Energy Solutions is proud
to announce the kick-off of our new
wellness program, “Just For The Health
Of It!”
Over the Memorial Day weekend,
Shamrock team member, Randy Leger
was heavily involved in a fundraiser
benefitting The Wounded Warrior
Project. He and his team participated in
a jambalaya cook-off, and Randy also
served as the auctioneer during the
event. The benefit raised over $38,000
for this great cause. To learn more about
The Wounded Warrior Project, click here.
As a Shamrock team member, we
care about you and your family. That
is why we are launching a voluntary
wellness program to help you stay
healthy and lead an active lifestyle.
You can earn incentive points by
participating in wellness activities and
become eligible for prizes! Activities
include completing an online personal
health assessment, annual wellness
visits, flu shots, donating blood, company
challenges, as well as weekly food and
cardio/ exercise tracking. The deadline for
completing the health assessment is July
15th, and the deadline for completing
all other activities is November 30th.
We encourage you to invest in yourself
and take this first step in making small
steps to better health! To register for our
program or to learn more, click here.

2015 RELAY FOR LIFE PRESENTED BY SHAMROCK ENERGY SOLUTIONS
SAMANTHA LYONS - TRAINING COORDINATOR
For the fifth year in a row, Shamrock
participated in the American Cancer
Society’s Terrebonne Parish Relay for Life.
This year, however we were the presenting
sponsor of the event and raised $30,000
toward our goal of $15,000, ranking us #1
out of 96 teams in the local area!
Shamrock was able to raise this money
by participating in pre-event fundraising,
including a plate lunch benefit, a Super
Bowl pool and generous donations from
our staff and community. Our team
consisting of more than 20 employees
also sold our famous bacon cheese
burgers, pastalaya, fries and drinks at the
event, took fun photos of event goers in
our photo booth, and sold raffle tickets
for a Yeti ice chest and a professional
photography gift certificate.
The Relay for Life event provides the
opportunity for our community to come
together to honor cancer survivors,
remember loved ones who lost their battle
with cancer, and to fight back against
the disease. This is a cause that is very
important to Shamrock, as we’ve all been
affected by cancer in some way.
Shamrock Energy Solutions would like to
thank everyone who participated in the
Relay for Life and supported this worthy
cause, and we encourage your continued
support of The American Cancer Society.
ELECTRICAL SERVICES COMPETENCY
DEPT. RESPONDS TO
VERIFICATION
URGENT CALL-OUT
PROGRAM
BART BERGERON- POWER GEN MANAGER
Over the Memorial Day weekend,
Shamrock’s electrical services
department in Broussard answered
a call to go offshore at a moment’s
notice for one of our customers’
largest oil producing platforms.
After already working a full day in
Broussard, electricians Chris Brown and
Karl Nunez reported to Fourchon, when
all other companies told the customer
that they would not have technicians
available until Tuesday after the holiday.
Our electricians were able to get the
PLC system for the diesel generator
back online in a matter of hours, saving
our customer 3 days of downtime on a
platform that produces 9,000 barrels of
oil per day.
.
BECKY MCMANUS- TRAINING MANAGER
Shamrock Energy Solutions considers
safety one of its highest priorities. We
must conduct all operations safely and
prudently, while providing our customers
with the finest services available. A
safe work environment begins with
staffing our operations with the most
competent field personnel in the industry.
Our Competency Verification Program
is a tool that we use to achieve this. We
have broken down this term, competency
and have created a comprehensive
process that will confirm and increase
the overall knowledge and skills of our
employees. Our program consists of
several elements which begin at candidacy
and follow the employee throughout
his/ her employment with Shamrock.
TURNKEY PUMP
PACKAGE
SHAWN PORTIER- I&E PROJECT MANAGER
Shamrock’s electrical services team
recently completed a subsea valve
equalization pump package for Shell
Pipeline. The pump is used to equalize
pressure before opening a valve,
allowing the valve to be opened safely.
Shamrock was contacted for this project
because the customer knew that we
could provide the turnkey solution that
they needed. We were tasked with design,
fabrication and procurement of the
package, as well as performing in-house
FAT, offshore installation and training the
user on operation of the equipment.
A vital element of this program, individual
performance assessments for each
employee, is underway so be on the
lookout for our competency assessors to
make a facility visit to see you soon.
SHANNA KORNEGAY - VP OF ENERGY SYSTEMS
VALVE & WELLHEAD SERVICES
On behalf of our Valve and Wellhead
Services team, I would like to share
a few updates on our growth and
development in this department.
Over a year ago, Dustin Hebert was
appointed valve service manager,
responsible for overseeing,
promoting and growing our entire
valve department. Dustin has over
thirteen years of experience with valve
work, six of which were as a valve
technician. He attends crew changes
regularly and supervises part orders,
inventory, delivery tickets, quotes,
field maintenance and technicians.
Upon Dustin’s acceptance of his current
position, our goal was to increase the
valve department’s work load as well as
the number of customers we serve. And
we’ve done just that. Currently, valve
technician, Johnny Norris, has been
doing an outstanding job performing
all valve maintenance and repair work
on Fieldwood’s Bullwinkle platform.
Another of Shamrock’s technicians,
Josh Leger, is responsible for the valve
survey and maintenance work on all
Shell Pipeline facilities in the Gulf of
Mexico. Josh has also identified and
photographed each valve and actuator
on all of the platforms and built a
valve inventory book for the customer.
Within the last year, Shamrock has also
acquired a hydrostatic test bay system
that can test up to 30,000psi. This
hydrostatic test pump system is designed
to allow an operator to safely test valves
at high pressures inside of a blast
chamber. Unlike manual chart recorders,
our hydrostatic testing system performs
electronically and yields extremely precise
results. Our valve team keeps all
test reports on file for five years.
All valve shop work now takes place at
our corporate headquarters in Houma.
For more information about our valve
department, contact Dustin Hebert at
[email protected].
Valve Service Manager, Dustin Hebert
