The 2014 Golf Tournament is coming soon! Tee off with other leaders and representatives from businesses
and organizations across Brazoria County for a full day of golf, networking, food, fun and more.
This 18-hole, four-person scramble has a tradition of being a great outing of golf and also a top local business
networking event. Awards will be given for the longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin, Hole in One
and more. Individuals and teams are welcome! You’ll also have a chance to win great prizes in the raffle. You
don’t have to be a golfer to support this outing. You can donate an item to the auction, or participate in
sponsorship opportunities and volunteer, as well as join us for cocktails and dinner.

The Alvin TEA Party Patriots are a non-partisan group
of concerned citizens in the Alvin area who have organized to protest out-of-control spending, higher
taxes, bailouts, and the growth of government. They
are always in need of more volunteers as well as participants and donations. They are involved with Vets,
endorse candidates that align themselves with their
core beliefs and values: Limited Government, Fiscal
Responsibility and a Free Market. They must also
have a true concern for the American Citizen’s Godgiven rights, and have plans to turn around the
wasteful spending of tax dollars. If you have any

Looking for a local place to practice target shooting? Big Kountry
Shooting is your spot!. It is located in Alvin next to Tractor Supply
and is owned and operated by Eric and Liz Kinnear. Big Kountry
Shooting is an indoor gun and archery shooting facility. If you don’t
own a gun or would like to try one to see how you like the way a
type of gun handles, they do have guns available to buy or rent.
Certified Handgun License classes are available. They also have a
separate party area for children 8 years and up to have parties using archery equipment and BB guns. Children will have a blast
learning how to use to use equipment correctly and hit targets!!

been serving the Alvin-Manvel area since 2010. Their friendly staff strives hard to have no long waits and to make sure

Ambassador Spotlight: Robert McWilliams
Robert McWilliams has been a Chamber Ambassador since 2011 and involved in many Chamber
programs and events from ribbon cuttings,
luncheons and breakfasts to behind-the-scenes
work on Business Expo, Golf Tournament, Shop
Local initiatives and much more.
He is the area representative for Killum Pest
Control, the oldest pest control business in Brazoria County. Killum has been owned by L.E.
"Corky" Melass since 1973 and has a long history of leadership and volunteerism in the Angle-
ton, Brazosport and Pearland area, so naturally, as Killum has grown in the AlvinManvel area, so has their presence in the
community.
A transplant from Ohio at a young age, Robert grew up in the Pasadena area. He and
his wife now live in Friendswood and have
three sons, Del, age 21, Josh, age 14 and
Andrew, age 13. He is active in his church, a
men’s Bible study and stays busy with his
boys’ activities.
