November 18th book for our Book Club is
"Aviator's Wife" by Melanie Benjamin
"For much of her life, Anne Morrow, the shy daughter of the U.S.
ambassador to Mexico, has stood in the shadows of those around
her, including her millionaire father and vibrant older sister, who
often steals the spotlight. Then Anne, a college senior with hidden
literary aspirations, travels to Mexico City to spend Christmas with
her family. There she meets Colonel Charles Lindbergh, fresh off
his celebrated 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic. Enthralled by
Charles's assurance and fame, Anne is certain the celebrated
aviator has scarcely noticed her. But she is wrong."
December 9th book for our Book Club is
"The Magic Room" by Jeffrey Zaslow.
"Thousands of women have stepped inside Becker's Bridal in
Fowler, Michigan, to try on their dream dresses in the Magic Room,
a special space with soft lighting, a circular pedestal, and mirrors
that carry a bride's reflection into infinity. The women bring with
them their most precious expectations about romance, love, fidelity,
permanence, and tradition. Each bride who passes through has a
story to tell-one that carries her there, to that dress, that room,
that moment."

DIRECTOR’S PAGE
I’m proud and excited to be the new
Library Director. We have such a
great staff who are dedicated to
helping our patrons, it’s a joy to work
with them. I would also like to thank
the Library Board for all their help
during my very eventful first month
as director.
For those of you who don’t know me, I
have lived in Glenwood for over 5
years and have done quite a bit of
volunteering at Northeast Elementary
where my son Nathan attends 2nd
grade. My husband William Painter is
the co-pastor of the First Congregationalist United Church of Christ here
in Glenwood and works in online
education.
New Library Director
Tara Anderson Painter
with Mayor Kim Clark
I look forward to seeing you at the
library!
