Parramatta Eels Audition Waiver
I, the below signatory, for my child _____________________________
and on behalf of my heirs and personal representatives in consideration
of my participation in the audition for the Parramatta Eels Junior Sweet
P’s Cheer Squad (the “Audition”), hereby release, acquit and forever
discharge the Parramatta Eels, the NRL, the venue where the Audition
is held, and their respective employees, agents, owners, officers,
directors, partners, licensees and affiliates and all of their respective
heirs, personal administrators, executors, successors and assigns
(collectively, “Releasees”), of and from any and all claims, actions,
causes of actions, demands, rights, damages, costs, expenses, lost
wages and loss of services of any kind whatsoever for personal injury
(including death) and/or property damage, known or unknown, which
may result from my child’s participation in, preparation for, or any other
activity/ies associated with the Audition, and whether arising before,
during or after such activity/ies.
I further covenant not to sue any of the Releasees for or on account of
any such injury(ies).
I hereby acknowledge that my child is physically and mentally capable
of participating in the Audition and the activities associated therewith.
Furthermore, I am familiar with the risks incidental to participation in
such events, assume full responsibility for the risk of bodily injury, death
or property damage due to the negligence of any of the Releasees or
otherwise, while in or upon the premises in which the Audition is taking
place, and while for any purpose participating in the aforementioned
activities, and hereby expressly waive, release and forever discharge all
Releasees of and from any and all claims of any nature which may be
occasioned by participation in these events.
In further consideration of the publicity afforded to me as a participant
in the Audition, I hereby grant permission to the Parramatta Eels,
Sports Dance, and the NRL their affiliates and promotional agencies to
use my picture, name, likeness and/or voice in any and all manner and
media (including but not limited to the internet) throughout the world
in perpetuity for the purpose of publicising my participation in the
Audition and for marketing, promoting or advertising the Parramatta
Eels, the NRL, their affiliates and sponsors, without fee or payment of
any kind, and hereby release all of such parties from any claims that I
may have for invasion or violation of rights of privacy, rights of publicity
or any other cause of action arising out of such usage. I hereby waive
any right to pre-approve usage of my picture, name, likeness or voice
before release or publication and agree that any such usage may be
edited in your sole discretion.

REHEARSALS
Will take place at Parramatta Leagues Club on
WEDNESDAY afternoons.
Juniors and Intermediates- 4pm-5pm
Seniors- 5pm-6pm
Our first training session will consist of squad
orientation, choreography for our first routine and a
parent information session.

The Junior Sweet P’s Project is self funded and
and carries an annual charge for rehearsals and
administration.
•
The costumes are provided free of charge .
•
Squad members will receive a performers pass for
free entry on game day.
If you are successful with your audition, a full
information booklet detailing rehearsals, home games,
costumes and fees will be given to parents at the first
rehearsal at Parramatta Leagues Club on 30th April.
IMPORTANT
The dance teams are not intended to replace your
current arrangement for dance classes. We strongly
advise you remain with your current dance teacher
for training in the areas of jazz dance and technique.

We are searching for talented, dedicated
dancers aged 5 to 16 to form the
inaugural Parramatta Eels “Junior Sweet
P’s” Cheer Squad. The squad will be
broken up into 3 elements
• Dancers aged 5-8 (male and female)
• Dancers aged 9- 12 years (male and Female)
• Dancers aged 13-16 (Male and female)
• We also encourage a “team” atmosphere amongst
the squad members- working together, promoting
responsibility as a whole squad, and equality across
members.
• Each squad member is given a “Sweet P’s”
uniform to keep until the end of the season, and
a presentation day, attended by Eels players and
management. Squad members receive a certificate
of participation and a merchandise pack at the
presentation day.
• The Senior Sweet P’s form an integral part of the
junior squad providing mentoring and positive role
models for young dancers to aspire to.
We are looking for young dancers interested in a
unique performance opportunity who want to be
part of the largest community based dance project
of its kind in the NRL. The dance style is Jazz and
Pom Pom work (not American Cheer Style). We are
looking for raw energy, attitude and personality- you
don’t necessarily have to be the best- this is all about
participating in something special.

What experience is required?
Age (on March 21st)
Our junior and intermediate teams work at an
elementary level. The expectation is that you have
undertaken some form of dance- be that jazz, hip hop,
ballet etc in the past. This could be through a private
dance school or through your regular school. At senior
level, we work to an intermediate to advanced level
and the expectation is that the senior squad members
attend at least one dance class in addition to squad per
week.

What do we gain as part of The Junior Sweet P’s?
• This represents a unique opportunity for the
dancers selected who will train under experienced
Jazz and Cheer choreographers .
• The squad will perform pre-match at 4 Eels home
games this season, as well as flash mobs, family fun
days, community events etc.
• Squad members perform a minimum of 4 times
throughout the season as part of the squad. This
means our kids get a wealth of performance
experience, practice at picking up routines quickly
and confidence performing in front of a large crowd
at the home games.

How does the Audition work?
The audition is done in a non-threatening environment,
much like a dance class. You can expect to do
stretching, basic technical work such as kicks, travelling
steps etc and around 16 counts of choreography will be
taught as part of the audition. You will wear a number
around your wrist that will correspond with your
application. There will be a panel of judges from the
dance initiative and the Eels on the day.
For younger students, its important to stress that we
are looking at your overall attitude to dance and do
not expect you to have the choreography perfect
within half an hour. The judges are aware that a regular
routine will take up to 4 weeks to perfect under normal
circumstances.
