Thanks to the variety of materials brought to light in Thonon and the surrounding area since the 1960s, the exhibition describes the daily life of our Gallo-Roman ancestors. The displays help visitors discover the domus (homes), their occupants and their way of life. «Made in Thonon» pottery is highlighted. Be sure to also visit the permanent collections. 2016: the illuminators and Duke Amadeus VIII The Chablais museum will house an exhibition on the Apocalypse manuscript ordered by Savoyard Duke Amadeus VIII in 1432. Part of this medieval illumination masterpiece, currently kept in Madrid, was created in Thonon. Against a «Savoyard» backdrop, it illustrates the key moments in this enigmatic and symbolic text.
