Thursday - Nashville Predators
PRESENTED BY BENEFITING THE NASHVILLE PREDATORS FOUNDATION Thursday, march 31 2016 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS DEAR GUESTS, On behalf of the Nashville Predators Foundation Board of Directors and the thousands of individuals who benefit from the Foundation’s initiatives, thank you for your tremendous support and generosity. We’re excited to welcome you to the 11th Annual Wine Festival & Tasting presented by King Jewelers! Our philosophy of supporting charities was best said by the late, great Jean Beliveau, “Every night I thank God for giving me a talent that allows me, with a simple autograph on a slip of paper, a photograph or an appearance, to make people happy in a society that has grown so complex.” Your generosity towards our players’ embrace of this approach to their passion for this charity has allowed the Foundation to be as impactful as it is. With the hockey season in full swing, everywhere the Foundation goes, we are reminded of organizations and groups that have been touched by your generosity. The Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in financial grants since its inception in 1998. Between grants and other charitable donations, such as the player ticket programs and additional fund-raising efforts, the Predators Foundation provided more than $1 million in cash donation to Nashville area charitable organizations this past season. The Foundation also supports hundreds of other charities with in-kind donations and awareness drives before games – American Red Cross blood drive, Second Harvest Food Bank food drive, Homework Hotline school supply drive, Sports Fund equipment drive, Youth Villages luggage drive and Soles for Souls shoe drive, to name a few. There are countless other ways in which the Predators Foundation, Preds players, staff, fans and corporate partners have teamed up to support those in need throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee. The Nashville Predators Foundation is incredibly grateful for the immense support it receives from the community and is committed to continuing to provide resources and assistance to the hundreds of organizations who offer services to those less fortunate. Without the unwavering support and involvement that you, the fans, give to both the Nashville Predators and the Nashville Predators Foundation, none of this would be possible. Thank you for your support. Tonight’s festivities, game night silent auctions, online auctions and the many additional events during the year, would not be possible without you, the fans. The Nashville Predators Foundation and those the Foundation serves, deeply appreciate your generosity. Sincerely, Sean Henry President, Nashville Predators Foundation PREDATORS FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS Jack Diller, Chairman • Sean Henry, President • Gerry Helper, Vice President • Mike Kaplan, Secretary Beth Snider, Treasurer • Deryl Bauman • Sharon Bell • Mark Blaze • Jill Cogen • Laura Currie • Willie Diehl Melissa Freeman • Jim Fyke • Vince Gill • Joe Huston, M.D. • Brad Karro • Rebecca King • Kristen Laviolette Dan MacDonald • Barbara Mandrell • Ken Premo • Ron Samuels 5:30pm V I P D I N N E R & TASTI N G 6:00pm WI N E FESTI VA L B EGI N S 6-7:00pm GN ASH PH OTO OPPORTU N I TY 9:30pm SI L E N T AU CTI ON C LOSES 10:00pm WI N E FESTI VA L E N DS V I P D I N N E R A N D TAST I N G M E N U F E AT U R I N G BA N F I W I N ES & H OST E D BY J I M M Y CO L L I N S Lemon Ricotta Pillow & Lobster – PRINCIPESSA GAVIA GAVI Lemon Ricotta Ravioli Sautéed with E.V.O.O., Fresh Main Lobster, Watercress, Sweet Pickled Shallots Char Grilled Salad – SAN ANGELO PINOT GRIGIO Tuscan Black Kale, Charred Cantaloupe, Red Peppers, Red Onion, Zucchini tossed with Myer Lemon & Ramp Vinaigrette Smoked Poulet Rouge – ROSSO DI MONTALCINO Free Range Chicken Brined & Smoked with House Seasonings accompanied with Kenny Farms’ White Cheddar Polenta, Artichoke and a Charred Yellow Tomato Pomodoro Sauce Herb Crusted New York Strip – BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO Black Hawk Farms New York Strip Loin, Chopped Herbs, Cracked Black Pepper, Maldon Sea Salt, Praline Sweet Potato Custard, Asparagus, Crisp Pancetta Bacon, Blackberry Sage Marmalade New Mexican Chocolate Truffles – ROSA REGALE Spicy New Mexican Chocolate Ganache Truffles Rolled in Peanut Butter Powder with a Strawberry Rhubarb Compote 2015-16 featured charities 2015 nashville Predators Foundation Grant Recipients The following charitable organizations are the 2015 grant recipients for the Nashville Predators Foundation and received a total of $415,020. This is the largest one-time allocation in Nashville Predators Foundation history. The 2016 grant recipients will be announced in April. Alive Hospice Located in the heart of Nashville, the Brown Center for Autism delivers year-round, familyfocused programming for young children through six years old who are impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders. Family and staff members work together to develop goals for each child, and staff members are heavily cross-trained across disciplines to deliver the greatest consistency in each and every treatment session and in the home. It is our firm belief that this strategy is the core of successful therapeutic programming for children with autism and the key to helping our children achieve their highest potential. Funds from the Predators Clinical Supply Drive will be used solely to purchase critical educational supplies utilized in intervention for young children with Autism. For more information please visit thebrowncenter.org. Habitat for Paws eases the frustration and loneliness of dogs living a chained existence by building fences for families at no cost: simply to help a dog live a chain-free life. We Call Them Our Dogs in Need - Every single Dog in Need has a name. Has a soul. And now can enjoy FREEDOM from an isolated and vulnerable life at the end of a chain. Within a few short days of when we first meet a Dog in Need, they receive a lightweight tether, insulated dog house and straw. For some, this is the first shelter and comfort they’ve ever known. We assess whether they need medical care and spaying or neutering. After each dog is spayed or neutered they are placed on the fence build schedule. We build a fence at no cost and celebrate the unchaining with our volunteers, our Dog in Need, the family and the community. For more information please visit habitatforpaws.org. Our Child and Family Advocacy program shepherds families during the investigative process by providing support, information, coordination of services and court orientation when necessary. Davis House also provides counseling services designed to support abuse victims and their families through the healing process after the abuse. For more information please visit davishousecac.org. We are Nashville's only Diaper Bank. Unlike emergency "safety nets" for food, utilities, housing or medical care, there are no other consistent sources for this basic essential need. Our Diaper Bank follows Food Bank practices to help struggling families. Instead of food, we do diapers. For more information please visit NashvilleDiaperConnection.org. partnered with Delek US Holdings/MAPCO, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Jackson National, LP Field, Nashville Electric Services and SMS Holdings to build a playground for Nashville Inner City Ministry in conjunction with KaBOOM!, a non-profit dedicated to making sure children have a safe place to play in their community. The staff of the Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Arena are committed to giving back to the Middle Tennessee community throughout the year by dedicating a total of 6,000 hours total of community service. On December 2, the Nashville Predators hosted the fourth annual Preds & Pins Celebrity Bowling Tournament presented by UnitedHealthcare to strike out cancer. Team Ajax Turner came back and defended their title winning the tournament for four consecutive years. All proceeds benefit the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund presented by Dollar General. BEER More than 2,000 people escaped the Nashville heat to attend the Third Annual Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival presented by DailyMVP. Samples of beer from 60-plus breweries across North America were spread throughout the Bridgestone Arena concourse, organized by region. Attendees voted for their favorite brewery and Nashville’s own Jackalope Brewery was victorious.
