Parts Identification
Operation & Maintenance of Water Filter
User should identify the main components and other relevant accessories of the Water
Filter prior operation & maintenance. Refer Diagram 1 below:
The Water Filter will be functioning in 3 different mode of operations, mainly Filter,
Backwash & Rinse (Refer Diagram 2). The water filter is to be operated by the 3-way
Multiport Valve and its relevant Ball Valves (Refer Part 1, 2 & 3 in Diagram 1).

1. Multi port valve
To divert the water flow in-and-out of the water filter in according to the
mode of operation.
2. Inlet Ball Valve
Normally open and is used to isolate the water flow into the water filter.
3. Outlet Ball Valve
Normally open and is used to isolate the water flow out from the water
filter and returning to household water supply.
4. By Pass Valve
To by pass the water filter during major maintenance/ service without
interrupting the water supply to the house.
5. Backwash piping
To discharge filtered sediments to the nearest drain hole.
6. Inlet Piping
Unfiltered water supply from main into the water filter
7. Outlet Piping
Filtered water supply from filter system back into the household pipind

Filter Mode funtion:
To let unfiltered water to flow from top to bottom through the filtration media bed and
sediments will be filtered. Filtered water will be distributed to Outlet through the inner
riser pipe.
Backwash Mode funtion:
To reverse the water flow in order to discharge the filtered sediments out from the water
filter and discharge to Drain.
Rinse Mode funtion:
It has the same water flow as Filter mode, however, instead of distribute the water
to outlet, it will be discharged to drain. This is to ensure the water quality is clean
again after backwash is performed before switching back to Filter mode.
