A nurse and fitness coach for more than thirty years. In 2010, she wrote and self-published her first book, Nurses In Shape: The Right Dose! With book in hand, on May 1, 2010, Helene started running from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. En route, she stopped at hospitals to talk to nurses about how exercise can improve one’s daily life. On June 15, 2013, she completed her 1,500 mile 45 day run from Vancouver, British Columbia to Tijuana, Mexico. Helene’s newest book One On The Run, 93 Days Across America shows Helene’s indomitable spirit as a solo female runner who accomplished a record making – and record breaking – feat of athletic skill as she journeyed across the southern United States. One on the Run gives people an honest glimpse into her character, leadership skills and social conscience. “The National Nurses 5K, Half Marathon and Health Institute Speakers Series is a weekend event by nurses for everyone. Each day, nurses celebrate their profession for helping others. We recognize our reach is far and wide which keeps our passion alive. For us, this is more than an investment in a healthy nation — it is an opportunity to inspire and to be a catalyst for change in all the people we touch. This is a great reason to run or walk an event founded by nurses.” Speakers Complete biography at www.NationalNursesHealthInstitute.com Dr. Bill Andrews, PhD Deanne Blach, MSN, RN Elaine Doll-Dunn, PhD Stacey Escalante Tiffany Harris, BS Kelly Hilcove, BSN, RN Dr. Malea Jensen, DO Jill Kliethermes, MSN, RN, FNP-BC Charles Maka, ASEP Janice Muhammad, RN, CNM, MS Molly Sheridan Dr. Teddy B Sim, DC John Steinberg Phyllis Suiter, APN, FNP-C, CPNP Janice Marie Wilson, MA Angelina Yost and Sky McClain Questions?
