Mission, Vision, Values II A ministry of Maranatha Chapel
Mission, Vision, Values II
A ministry of Maranatha Chapel, Maranatha Christian Schools partners with parents
to provide a community where students experience God’s love, are encouraged to
fulfill God’s unique call and purpose, and excel in their God-given gifts through
academics, arts, and athletics.
Sounds nice! What does it mean?
We know from the Scripture that love is from God. In fact, we know that God is
love. (1 John 4:8). The first eleven chapters of the book of Romans really describe
all that God has done for us because of this great love. Chapter 12 begins:
“Therefore (essentially… because of His great love and all He has done for us…) I
urge you brethren, to present your bodies as living sacrifices… holy, and pleasing to
Him.”
MCS believes that our mission is to let our kids know that life is a response to this
great love. We want our students, above all, to experience the love of God, to fulfill
His purpose for them, and excel in the gifts He has given them.
If we, the Maranatha Community understand and unite behind this eternal concept,
then the output can ultimately be what our vision is for our kids… to transform
their lives so that they can transform the world for Jesus Christ in response to His
call on their lives.
I’ve been here a while now. I guess the “honeymoon” period must be about over.
You know… I still feel like I’m on a honeymoon of sorts, because I’m so blessed to be
working alongside our great staff that believes wholeheartedly in this mission of
ours. God loves these kids! So do we. Thanks for the chance to partner with you in
this wonderful journey.

“Mr. Goldie has had some tech glitches
with his email accounts. If you have
sent a WTBI to him in recent weeks,
and have not gotten a response, please

ALL SCHOOL
Hi Mrs. Garland!!!
Hope you are doing well and enjoying this school year!
I meant to email you a lot sooner, but I wanted to thank you so much for what a
great job you did preparing me for college. Not only do I feel super prepared
having learned a new way of literature analysis and critical thinking, but also
specific knowledge skills I have utilized as well. Half of my first philosophy test
consisted entirely of logical fallacies, which I was super familiar with thanks to
your class! We've also discussed the concept of Plato's cave, and while the rest of
the class struggled to understand the five minute overview, I was quite familiar
with the allusion, thanks to you again! And then, just today, we discussed
Martin Luther King’s Letter from Birmingham Jail, which also pleasantly
surprised me and once again I thought of your class.
So thank you for preparing me not only for the AP exams (which allowed me to
test out of eight college credits!) but also for getting me used to the whole experience of college where critical thinking is taken to a new level (watch out for walking bushes!) and where great thinkers are commonly discussed as general
knowledge.
I hope you are encouraged and know that you are a great teacher!
God bless you as you continue to prepare even more students to great college
success!
Thanks again,
Sarah Knutson
