ABOUT STREZOV SAMPLING
STREZOV SAMPLING © is a division of STREZOV MUSIC PRODUCTIONS LTD – a
company created by George Strezov – orchestrator, composer and orchestra/choir
contractor in Sofia, Bulgaria.
ABOUT THUNDER
THUNDER is a sample library of dry, cinematic percussion ensembles. It was
recorded in studio “Loud-Fi” in Sofia, Bulgaria and thus the dry and punchy sound
of the samples.
The library has thirteen instrument combinations, featuring various instruments:
two concert bass drums Adams; Sonor, Tama and DW low, mid and high toms; 4
unique ethnic hand made Bulgarian tupans; 1 darbuka; 8 snare drums; 2 detuned
timpani Adams and more.
Our main idea was to record close and dry epic film percussion, since most of the
libraries on the market are oriented towards a much bigger room sound. Thunder
is a perfect layering tool to thicken your hall and far miked samples.
The library has ten dynamic levels (from very soft ppp to blasting ffff) and is RRx8
(meaning that each instrument has 8 unique samples). The dry sound of the studio
room can help you use “Thunder” either as a solo virtual instrument, or as a part of
a bigger template.
DISCLAIMER / PHILOSOPHY
We would like to note that, in our pursuit for more lively and natural samples, we
tend to avoid a few things that are considered commonplace. We used some
normalization on the samples of “Thunder”, but tried to keep the depth of the
instrument dynamics. We embrace candid, lively samples that include some natural
imperfections.
INSTRUMENT COMBINATIONS
As we previously pointed out, “Thunder” has thirteen different instrument
combinations. Here is some more info about all of them:

drum (played with a mallet), 3 low toms (mallets);
CAMEL SAFARI – 2 concert bass drums (mallets), 2 detuned timpani (sticks), 4
bulgarian tupans (sticks);
CLICK CLACKERS I – 4 tupans (sticks), 2 concert bass drums (sticks), 2 detuned
timpani (sticks) – all of them: rimshots;
CLICK CLACKERS II – 8 toms, detuned (sticks) – all of them: rimshots;
DAWN RIDER – 4 tupans ('beater'), 3 high toms (sticks), 1 mid tom (sticks);
GREATER BEASTS I – 8 toms, normal tuning (sticks);
GREATER BEASTS II – 8 toms, detuned (sticks);
PIRATE SHIP – 8 different snares (sticks);
MOUNTAIN KING – 2 timpani, 1 concert bass drum, 2 snares, 3 toms (all of them
with brushes);
METAL FREAK – 5 small anvils (hammers);
DERVISH – 3 bulgarian tupans (sticks), 1 darbuka (hands+stick), snare drum
with tambourine (sticks), 1 floor tom, 1 concert bass drum (mallet), 1 snare
drum (sticks);
VOYVODA I – 3 tupans (small sticks), 2 floor toms (sticks), 2 concert bass drums
(mallets), 1 snare drum (sticks);
VOYVODA II – 3 tupans (small sticks), 2 floor toms (sticks), 2 concert bass
drums (mallets), 1 mid tom (sticks);
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is “Thunder” made of loops or samples?
A: Thunder has 13 patches of one-shot samples
only, there are no loops included in the library.

Q: Does this mean that there are no rolls in the
library?
A: There are no pre-recorded 'rolls' in the library,
but most of the patches can create amazing
tremolo effects - try making snare rolls with
“PIRATE SHIP”!

Q: Why 13 instrument combinations?
A: We tried to cover as much different sounds as we
could – from low-end percussion
to high 'clacks' and metals.
