The Auction Chronicle
Published By: 2008 Auction Committee A Word from the
Chairperson
There are 25 days left until Auction Night! You
can imagine these last few weeks are crucial to
making this auction a great success. Now’s the
time to pull out all the stops and finalize the last
few steps. This is where the auction committee
can use your assistance. Our goal for the evening
is to raise $144,000. In order for us to raise this
amount, we need items for patrons to bid on. As of
March 31st, the value of the items that have been
donated equals $62,000. We NEED more items. If
you have not yet donated, please do so as soon as
possible. The LIVE and Almost Live catalog will be
printed by April 7th in order to have it passed out
two weeks prior to the auction. The actual items
do not need to be turned in until April 18th, but
the procurement form needs to be turned in no
later than April 7th. If you do not know what to
donate, gift cards to Fred Meyer, Target, Ikea, or
any store would be great. The Auction committee
could then use the cards to purchase items that
we feel would be great sellers. Checks and cash
are also welcome. There are more ideas listed in
the procurement ideas section of this newsletter.
If you are considering sponsoring a teacher and/
or spouse and have not done so, the forms are located in the RCS office or in the Auction Rack by
the Auction Wall. You can also sponsor a teacher
by going to the RCS web site, and click on the
“auction buy tickets here”. This will take you
to the auction web site where you can register
for the night of the auction, sponsor a teacher,
donate an item, be a sponsor, review the auction
catalog and much more.
The auction room will be open the following hours
to assist you and take delivery of your donations/
procured items.
Mon - Fri 8:00-10:00 & 1:003:00 If you need to make a delivery outside these
hours, please contact us at [email protected] or 226-8020 X 126.
Volume : 5 Date: April 1, 2008
Invitations were sent home via the purple family envelopes to all RCS families, staff, SLC parents, and SLC
staff. If you did not receive your invitation, please
contact us or go to the auction web site where you can
view the invitation and register online. Due to last
week’s Spring Break (more like winter break) we have
extended the registration to April 4th before the price
increases to $50.00.
At this year’s auction, we have a lot of excitement in
store for everyone. We will have the Wild Card drawing
again. Each ticket is 50.00 and If your ticket is drawn
you can choose any LIVE auction item (excluding the
trip to Mexico and the American Stars and Strips trip).
As long as 100 tickets are sold, the class projects will
also be included. You can also buy as many NUT days
(no school uniform) for your children for $25.00 each.
When you purchase the WILD CARD tickets, you will
receive a flashing lei and with every NUT day certificate, you will receive a shell necklace. We have an
outstanding performance at the beginning of the LIVE
auction, and, for those that have a sweet tooth, the
Dessert Frenzy is back this year! For all you sports lovers, we have a wide assortment of offerings, including
tickets, greens fees, memorabilia, etc.....a lot to choose
from!
The Auction Committee has been working long hours
and we are very fortunate to have a wonderful group
of volunteers this year. These next few weeks can be
extremely stressful to us, so keep us in your thoughts
and prayers and if you feel that you can assist us in
any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you from making this year’s auction a great
success,
Kimberly Champion-Hopewell
