MEGTEC’s splicers feature core breaking and tension control, simultaneous
cut and paste under tension with a constant short tail length, easy roll loading,
independent drive and PLC control. A choice of automation levels and load
bearing versions are available. MEGTEC also supplies zero speed splicers.
The MEGTEC MP splicers are the new highly modular generation of high
performance core-driven splicers. Their compact design and lowest possible
height is ideal for limited space requirements, especially in newspaper
printing.
All MP models feature core acceleration. The new roll is accelerated by an
AC-motor from the center of the roll. This process improves control and
eliminates contact with the paper surface and potential damage. The straight
continuous splice preparation is simple, avoids the creation of air-pockets
and provides better handling of damaged out-of-round rolls.
MP11: Core chucks, core acceleration and braking
The MP11 is a match-speed splicer, designed with a focus on multi-web
single wide newspaper printing presses. Motorized chuck insertion and
automatic expansion increase operating efficiency and safety. Roll loading
is by a push button for chuck engagement with automatic tightening at the
end of insertion.
The MP14 is a match-speed splicer, designed for multi-web single wide
commercial printing presses. It is capable to carry roll weight up to 1,700 kg.
Core braking by 4-Quadrant motors gives high responsive drive and braking
which provides a constant web tension irrespective of variation of press
speed.
The MP22 is a match-speed splicer designed for double wide, high production
newspaper printing applications. It is capable to carry newspaper rolls up to
1,720 mm (67 inches) wide with a roll diameter of 1,270 mm (50 inches) and
is available with load bearing option.

The DLP-K is a match speed splicer which has been designed and
configurated to exactly match the requirements of fast-running
single wide newspaper presses. It is available in 1020 mm (40”)
web width only and allows to run rolls up to 800 kg (1760 lbs).
The DLP-K splicer features:

• Dual pneumatic brakes on each arm with web tension
control from roll core
• High speed single belt acceleration
• Motorized individual roll alignment prior to splice
• Splicer carriage with pneumatic activated knife and roller

The DLP-K splicer is modeled after the
successful DLP series which has sold more
than 1,000 units worldwide and is now
manufactured in Shanghai.
The MEGTEC SE Zero Speed Splicer provides an
easy way to improve quality, maintain maximum
productivity, and ensure minimal core waste. The
splicer features innovative components such as an
automatic splice trigger, accurate web tension control,
and dual unwind. It accommodates two full rolls of
paper, each up to 1270 mm (50”) in diameter.
SE splicers are available in CE, UL standards
to meet compliance in various regions.

Dual-Dry air nozzle system combines

MEGTEC’s semi-commercial package will offer web press
manufacturer and printers alike an economic package with
local manufacturing in China which will bring new business
opportunities and cost savings to publishers and printers in today’s
evolving media industry.
It also allows printing houses to produce a wide variety of work
including newspapers, coated advertising inserts and magazines in
high quality which is in high demand from readers.
The hybrid configuration will include zero speed splicer, heatset
dryer, infeed and chill stand (shaftless), web guide and silicon
coater for high print quality jobs.

Thermal oxidizers are the industry standard for achieving clean air compliance
in heatset printing.
MEGTEC, world leader in providing clean air compliance for heatset web
printers, offers a major innovation in low flow regenerative thermal oxidation
with the Millennium Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer.
This unique, compact system can meet the needs of a wide variety of industrial
applications at flows extending to 23.700 Nm3/h (15,000 SCFM).
The MILLENNIUM provides the efficiency, effectiveness and reliability of RTOs
at affordable capital, installation and operating costs.
The MILLENNIUM features:
• Compact and cost-effective design with integrated ductwork, unique singlebox configuration
• Money saving media with low resistance ceramic heat exchange media
minimizes pressure drop for smooth operations and reduced electrical
