Istanbul and ended in Zonguldak. European guests were eager to
arrive in Zonguldak which will stage a harsh competition. e teams

who arrived the hometown of the tournament which is a nice small
city on the Black Sea coast paid a visit to the sports hall prior to
opening ceremony. Aer opening speeches, classical music recital and
coctail, athletes were headed to the sports hall where they could train.

Ivana Ertlova and President of Bülent Ecevit
University Prof. Dr. Mahmut Özer started the
championship with their speeches. Openin
ceremony ended with the coctail following the
music recital performed by Bülent Ecevit
University vocal artists.

European Universities Table Tennis
Championship Opening Ceremony, held on
18 June 2013. To the opening ceremony
attended e Conquest of Zonguldak
Deputy Governor Özdemir, the Mayor of
Muharram Akdemir, President, Professor.
Dr. Mahmut Ozer, Head of University
Sports Federation, Turkey. Dr. Kemal
Tamer, Secretary-General of the Federation
Erdogan
Celebi,
Ivana
Ertlova
representative of the European University
Sports Federation of European countries,
representatives of college sports, athletes,
academic and administrative staff and
invited guests. Following the performing of
the National Anthem universities
participating in the championship parade
with enthusiastic applause in the audience
took their place. Dr. Kemal Tamer made the
opening speech at the ceremony, Head of
University Sports Federation, Turkey.. Prof.
Dr. Tamer in his speech said that it is such
an important organization in Turkey and is
proud to host the organization therefore
thanked for the support of the authorities of
EUSA. Tamer also "a great effort that the

was presented a plaque on behalf of TÜSF
to Silver. Prof. Dr. Ivana Ertlova EUSA
representative took the floor aer Kemal
Tamer, in his speech, "I am pleased the
realization of the championship in such a
beautiful city. ank you for your interest in
countries participating in the championship.
We carry different branches of the European
University Sports Association to bring
together European youth championships as
it has an important mission. I hope you will
be successful in this championship, I wish
success to all the athletes, "he said. To
declare the opening speech of the
championship Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut
Özer said in his speech: "e European
University Sports Association (EUSA)
organized by the 6.European Universities
Table Tennis Championship, the natural
beauty, adorned with a combination of
green and blue a mine city Zonguldak we
are experiencing happiness and excitement
the organization to be hosted by Bülent
Prof. Dr. Kemal Tamer
Ecevit University. Turkey's 29 universities
in 11 European countries with the
participation of the youth championship
college fraternity, tolerance and peace, I
truly believe it will contribute to the wishes.
Athletes participating in the 6.European
Universities Table Tennis Championships
will take pleasure in a friendly and
stimulating environment will soon
establish new friendships and most
importantly, I'm sure they will have the
opportunity to get to know the Turkish
culture. I thank to the European University
Sports Association of University Sports
Federation, the Organization Committee
and the university, all the academic and
administrative staff who have contributed
to this organization and everyone who
supported. "After the opening remarks

Kapar from Uludag University of the
referees they have. Of the EUSA University
State Conservatory faculty members
research assistant İlkay Göksel, lecturer
Turgay Tunç, Melike Bolat and Cemalettin
Baydağ presented a concert of classical
works after performing the Anthem. 6.

Technical Meeting for 6th European Universities
Table Tennis Championship was held
Technical Meeting of the tournament started with a brief
informative presentation about EUSA. Once the represantatives
for the universities are informed properly about technical matters,
draw fort he tournament was made and competition schedule was
decided on. Meeting ended with good wishes of success and good
luck.
Represantatives for European and Turkish
Sports Federations visited our President
EUSA Represantative Ivana ERTLOVA and President of
Turkish University Sports Prof. Dr. Kemal TAMER and also
secretary general Erdoğan ÇELEBİ who came to our city for the
6th European Universities Table Tennis Championship which is
hosted by Bülent Ecevit University visited our rector on 18th of
June, 2013. In the visit prior to opening ceremony, Eusa
Represantative Ivana ERTLOVA stated that she is particularly
pleased that the champiionship is organised in a city with such
natural beauties.
Prof. Tamer stated he observed preperations for the
tournament closely and extended his gratitiudes to Prof. Dr.
Özer and all who worked hard to maket his event happen. Prof.
Dr. Tamer also stated that the tournament which brought 150
athletes from 12 countries and 25 universities will be completed
with success and joy.
Prof. Dr. Özer said he was extremely happy to host such
a tremendous event and he stated that they aim to create a
tournament full of pleasant memories for the athletes and
officials. Rector Özer emphasised the universal nature of the
sports and added: “Now we are waiting for the tournament to
commence. We thank EUSA and Turkish University Sports
Federation for their support. I wish a succesful tournament for all.
