TONY’S LA PIZZERIA is a family business that has been making pizza
longer than anyone in Waterloo/Cedar Falls. The location has changed
several times from Waterloo to Cedar Falls, back to Waterloo, and now in
downtown Cedar Falls, on Main Street. We have been serving the Cedar Valley
for over fifty years and while many things have changed, one thing has not....
our commitment to serving the highest quality products to our customers.
Tony’s started on Sycamore Street in 1958 as a simple pizzeria and we are
still making the same fine pizza today. The dough is still made fresh on the
premises every day, the sauce is freshly made in our kitchen, and we hand
trim the Iowa grown pork that we use to grind our fresh sausage every week.
We make things from scratch, from salad dressings to sauces and the
vegetables we cut and prepare fresh each day. We think it tastes far better
than anything that comes out of a package; we think that our customers
can taste the difference, and we think they deserve fresh, wholesome food.
We seek out the finest ingredients and are committed to “Buy Fresh, Buy Local.”
Our milk, cream, and ice cream comes from Hansen’s Dairy in Hudson. We
strive to buy fresh seasonal vegetables from local growers whenever possible.
We believe that fresh and local are part of the philosophy that guides
our business. We are a local second-generation family business and very
proud to serve the community. Our rich history has contributed to the
longevity of the business and serves to prolong and expand our restaurant
until we pass the mantle to the third generation waiting in the wings.
We have a simple philosophy at Tony’s: Make it fresh and make it better.
Our Main Street is an exciting venture, and presents unique opportunities.
We won a Main Street Iowa Challenge Grant in 2010, using sustainable
and eco-friendly materials to create a unique outdoor space at the
rear entrance of the building. Our Main Street interior features a
mahogany bar, mahogany paneling, booths, and tables, all of which was
sustainably grown, it was crafted by skilled artisans so that it will last a
hundred years. That’s our investment in our future and our community.
The history and hard work that sustained Tony’s during the past half
century is represented and rewarded by the loyal customers who
have eaten our food and have built a relationship that spans several
generations. We are most proud of that history. We are proud to have
such loyal customers who have journeyed with us all along the way.

We cook our pizza in a stone brick oven to enhance the flavor of our crust. There may be
irregularities in the crust color. It is normal, and expected, that the crust will be darker in
some areas than others and that the crust will be crispy.
