Offering the ultimate living and entertaining experience, the 3400 sq. ft. of
spacious one level living includes a magnificent grand lodge room, two master
suites, and a gourmet kitchen.
The home was constructed and designed by Jack Kranenberg in the early 1950’s and then completely refurbished in 2009. It is
located on the site of the original Powderhorn Dude Ranch which operated into the early 1960s until it was later transformed into
the Hidden Ranch subdivision. The front veranda is detailed with Brazilian hardwood, original hand forged sconces, and copper
wrapped log railings. The foyer and adjoining powder room feature Italian mosaic inlaid slate floors and a beautiful onyx bowl sink
set on an antique teak hand carved chest.
Original barrel ceilings, high gloss mahogany-stained red oak floors, copper sconces and gingerbread moldings are all unique to the
home and a signature of Kranenberg craftsmanship. The salon/dining room is situated in the first of two original dude ranch log
cabins that are a part of the architecture in this historic showpiece. The corner stone wood burning fireplace with burled wood mantle
and iron grate anchors the room. An ox yolk elk antler chandelier accentuates the dining room.
expansive in scope, the grand lodge room is beyond compare! This was the festive gathering space for the dudes, cowboys, and girls who dined, danced and gambled as guests of the Powderhorn Ranch. Hand hewn beams support the vaulted tongue
and groove ceiling, scribed log window trim, and massive native stone fireplace complete with burled wood mantels and blacksmith
forged iron doors. A significant vertical light wraps around the center steel tie rod adding soft illumination through its hand blown
glass panels. Nestled under the ornate staircase is an imaginatively layered bar, mounted with blue pearl granite and functionally
preserved.
from the grand lodge room, french doors lead to a private flagstone courtyard bordered with a brick
half wall, shaded by mature blue spruce and chokecherry trees, and surrounded by 19th century double headed yellow rose bushes.
The focal point of this 930 square foot terrace is an exquisite fireplace/built-in grill with towering chimney, whose stone pattern
within reflects the image of the Grand Tetons. The epitome of cowboy chic entertaining accompanied by mountain and forest views
is unsurpassed!
the extensive master wing resides in the second original dude ranch cabin. The setting encompasses a cozy sitting
area juxtaposed to a wood burning fireplace detailed with an intricately scalloped mantle, herringbone patterned tongue and groove
walls, barreled ceilings, and a walk in closet. The generous master bath includes green marble and travertine mosaic floors, a Kohler
deep soaking tub, and a double sink vanity with four inch roughened-edge granite counter tops. The private covered veranda surrounded by rose bushes and mountain views complete this space.
residing on the opposing wing of the lodge is the equally spacious second master suite. Points of detail presented within the festive master bath are Italian stone mosaic floors, handcrafted Mexican sink inset on four inch roughened edge
granite, and a Kohler cast iron heated jetted tub. The attributes of the commercial grade gourmet kitchen are impressive, a few noted
are an extensive granite working space, center island and peninsula, bar stool seating and viewing for eight. The fluidity of space connecting the kitchen, dining, and courtyard areas, allows for a multitude of options when wining, dining, and entertaining.
the third bedroom balcony overlooking the grand lodge room is simply charming. Characterized by art deco
light fixtures and built-ins, with adjoining study, it is truly impressive as another architectural entity.
The lodge is situated on a beautifully landscaped corner lot, with mature evergreen and flowering trees that provide exceptional
privacy. Its exterior gables and dormers draw the eye towards a ski sloped roofline with scalloped moldings and windows fronted by
evergreen shutters, invoking the feeling of a mountain chalet.
Hidden Ranch borders the forest service and bike path affording central access to shopping, schools, services, and recreation. This
unrivaled Lodge Masterpiece is the Heart of Jackson Hole!
