University Transfer Preparation
Pierce College offers courses which meet the general education
requirements needed to transfer to the University of California
system, California State University system, and most other
private and public colleges in the United States. A student with a
satisfactory community college record will receive full credit for
all transfer level courses completed at Pierce College, provided
that he or she has met the specific requirements of the transfer
college or university.

Associate Degrees
Students who satisfactorily complete 60 degree applicable units
of coursework and meet the appropriate graduation requirements
will be awarded an Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in
Science (A.S.) degree. Associate degree programs are offered in a
variety of academic and vocational areas. While this can be
completed in two years, it generally takes 2 1/2 to 3 years to earn

Attending Pierce College?
As an F-1 Visa student, you are required to:

have attended. The transcript must be a complete record of all
courses taken and the grades received in those courses. Diplomas
or certificates you have received for completing government
or university examinations must show the subjects of these

are not in English must be accompanied by notarized
translations. All documents and school records become
property of Pierce College and are not returned to
the student.

Pierce College requires that students under the age
of 18 must have a legal guardian over the age of 21
living in Los Angeles County. In the event of a personal
emergency, accident, illness or incarceration, the State
of California will require the signature of the guardian
before assistance such as hospitalization or legal
counsel can be administered. Pierce College is not
permitted to act in place of the parent or guardian.
The designated guardian must be at least 21 years
of age and living in Los Angeles County.
All sections must be completed. Incorrect, blank or
misleading statements may result in denial or dismissal
of your application. Please refer to the International
Students Fee Schedule for the minimum amount of funds
required for each year of study. An official bank balance
verification letter is required. The letter must be in
