Lloyd online: [email protected] Church Administrator online: [email protected] Church Secretary online: [email protected] CHILDREN Leader: Children are precious gifts from God and we love them. Let us remind ourselves that it takes a whole village to raise a child to compassion, competence, and character. People: We celebrate their gifts and strengths. We pray for them. Lord, help us to hear the dreams and concerns of children, and to never give up on them. Leader: We thank you for David, who found favor with you and was anointed king in his youth. We also thank you for Josiah who became king at eight years of age, and whose reign was pleasing to you. People: We thank you for the young maiden who instructed Naaman to seek the prophet. We also thank you for Miriam who led with her brother Moses, for Jeremiah who was called from his mother’s womb, and for Jesus who confounded the chief priests and scribes at the age of twelve. Leader: We remember Emmett Till whose murder in Money, Mississippi shed light on the atrocities of racism. We remember the Little Rock Arkansas Nine, who risked their lives so that black children could receive an equal education. We remember the four young ladies who lost their lives in a Birmingham church during Sunday School. People: In the twentieth century, many children were still in desperate need. Every day seven hundred of them were born in poverty, seven were killed by guns, twenty eight never reached their first birthday and others died daily from HIV infection and drugs. Leader: Some children are suspended from school, arrested, incarcerated. Some are unmarried mothers. O Lord, rescue and deliver them all. Help them to become beacons of hope and agents of change in America and in the world. People: As the lives of children and youth are channeled to schooling and career preparation, help them find the time to read and to understand your commandments, to know and to love Jesus Christ, and to be witnesses of your saving grace to their own generation. Leader: O Lord, position significant and caring adults in their lives to guide them to discover the unique potential which you have placed within them. People: Shield them from all hurt, harm, and danger. Shelter them from abuse, low self-esteem, drugs, pornography, prostitution and poverty. Leader: May you help them to stay in school, to obey their parents, and to resist negative peer pressure. Give them important roles to play in the home, church, school, and community. Give every family and community assets that ensure the positive development of children. ALL: Our hope for the future resides in our children. We pray that they thrive according to your purpose. PRAISE CHORUSES Oh Give Thanks Oh give Thanks unto the Lord For He is good, yes He is good. (Repeat) For He is worthy, worthy Yes He is good, for He is good (Repeat) How Great Is Our God How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God The splendor of a king; Clothed in majesty. Let all the earth rejoice All the earth rejoice He wraps Himself in light, And darkness tries to hide And trembles at His voice Trembles at His voice He’s the name above all names and he’s worthy to be praised and my heart will sing How great is our God. Alpha & Omega You are Alpha and Omega We worship you our Lord you are worthy to be praised We give you all the glory We worship you our Lord you are worthy to be praised Minister Cedric Rucker Guest Preacher Minister Cedric Rucker was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Pastor Velda L, and First Lady Nellie T Rucker. Minister Rucker attended Cleveland Heights High School and graduated in June of 1995. Upon graduating, Minister Rucker enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from June of 1995 till February of 2000. While serving in the U.S. Navy, Cedric answered his call to ministry and preached his initial sermon in December of 1996. After being honorably discharged, Minister Rucker attended Norfolk State University. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from NSU with a B.A. in Psychology. Minister Rucker also holds a M.A. degree in Community counseling from Regent University and a M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School. Currently, Minister Rucker serves as a Case Manager for the Boston Reentry Initiative, which is an organization that focuses on assisting returning citizens on their adjustment to reentering the community after serving time at Suffolk County House of Corrections. On September 5, 2014 Minister Rucker married Mrs. Latisha A. Rucker and lives with her in Boston, MA. The Lord has blessed Minister Rucker throughout his ministry and life. However, his main concern and focus is living and loving in a manner that Christ can get the glory out of his life. TITHES & OFFERINGS Our Confessional – Tithing the Tithes (For all areas of our lives) Leader: We tithe and give offerings, and God is faithful to His Word. There is meat in my house. People: I tithe and give offerings, and God is faithful to His Word. He opens up the windows of heaven and pours out blessings upon me, that there is not room enough for me to receive. Leader: We tithe and give offerings, and God is faithful to His Word. He rebukes and intercedes for my sake. People: I tithe and give offerings, and God is faithful to His Word. All nations of this world shall call me blessed. All: I am blessed going in. I am blessed coming out. I’m the head, and not the tail. I’m above only and not beneath. I’m not in poverty, I’m in prosperity. I’m not in lack, I’m in abundance! Amen! FAITHFUL IN OUR GIVING As we continue into the 2015 calendar year we want to remember our giving in tithes and offerings. We have seen record level snow falls that have had a negative impact on both the attendance and giving. We encourage you to remember that the expenses of the church go on even when you are not here on a particular Sunday. Please do not fall behind in your giving. You can NOW give to the church on line! 3 Easy Steps Go to http://www.gfccnet.org/giving Click on the collection plate Complete the transaction online Listen to the message from God’s Word.
