Right on your doorstep... Discover hidden coves, go back in time fossil hunting and get golden sand stuck between your toes at the blue flag rated Sandbanks beach. Take in the historic town of Poole and explore further afield too. Poole’s Lifting Bridges ...and the 152 bus Service 152 is supported by the Borough of Poole. The route is designed to help everyone get around, whether you are a local resident off to the shops, a visitor staying at Rockley or a holidaymaker enjoying a paddle in Hamworthy Park! N ew for 2016 are extra journeys on the 152, with a new half hourly service in the daytime, plus Sunday buses too. The improved timetable will run all year round and has been designed to assist Lower Hamworthy residents in particular during the closure of Poole Bridge in Autumn 2016. The £4m works are planned to start from September 2016 and last approximately 40 weeks. Poole Bridge was built in 1927. It has lifted over 400, 000 times and can carry over 20, 000 vehicles each day. The bridge is therefore worn out so will be closed completely to all traffic whilst essential rebuilding takes place. During this time the 152 will operate via Twin Sails Bridge but will then loop via Blandford Road, Station Road and Norton Way in both directions, ensuring everyone still has access to a bus close by.
