Sesa Sterlite has a portfolio of large, world-class, low cost, scalable assets in close proximity to high growth markets. Its business primarily involves exploring, extracting and processing minerals and oil & gas. The company operates in zinc, lead, silver, copper, aluminium, iron ore, oil & gas and commercial power and have a presence across India, South Africa, Namibia, Ireland, Australia, Liberia and Sri Lanka. A diversified portfolio of the merged entity is expected to reduce volatility of earnings through commodity cycles, lowering the cost of capital and enhancing value. The consolidation will generate significant financial and operational synergies such as improved fungibility of cash that will facilitate debt servicing, efficient cash management, and tax efficiencies. Sustainability is at the core of Sesa Sterlite’s strategy, with a strong focus on health, safety and environment and on enhancing the lives of local communities. Sesa Sterlite is a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Plc, listed in the LSE.
