FSU Marching Chiefs FSU Marching Chiefs

The Marching Chiefs consists of 400+ young men and women from virtually every
discipline and major available at The Florida State University. In addition to providing
pregame and halftime pageantry for Seminole home football games, they regularly travel
to away games and an annual post season bowl game. The Chiefs are also featured each
fall as part of the exciting Tri-State Festival PRISM Concerts.
In 2011, the Football Seminoles and Head Coach Jimbo Fisher trekked onward in
our return to national dominance with convincing victories over rivals Miami and Florida,
and a Champs Sports Bowl victory over the Irish of Notre Dame. Along the way, the
Marching Chiefs provided outstanding team support and great halftime entertainment.
We kicked off the season with a “goodbye to summer” set of familiar beach music. The
very next week, things turned serious as we marked the 10th Anniversary of the
September 11 tragedy with stunning arrangements by alums Kimberley Archer and Larry
Clark. Subsequent shows included a salute to musical icon Billy Joel, Leonard Bernstein’s
amazing West Side Story, and an amusing salute to “Frat Rock” tunes from the 1960s. We
closed the season with powerful versions of both classical and jazz favorites. All in all, it
was a great season; something to “Shout” about! We hope this recording brings back
memories of great Seminole victories.
