1st annual Stones River Championship
Your band is cordially invited to the 1st
annual Stones River Championship band
competition hosted at Siegel High School in
Murfreesboro, TN. The SRC seeks to provide
bands with the best possible educational
experience they can receive at a band
competition.
In addition to the contest adjudicators,
bands will also have the opportunity to meet
with one of three critique teams after their
stadium performance. These teams will provide
immediate feedback to directors and students
while viewing the video of their just completed
performance. With this feedback, the SRC hopes
to help further prepare bands for quality
performances at many of the region’s upcoming
championship events.
The SRC will use a single performance
run format with bands competing in either the
Small Division (A-AA) or Large Division (AAAAAAA). Both class and division awards will be
given based on the contest adjudicators score
sheets with the highest scoring band in each
Division receiving the title of Grand Champion.
Each grand champion will take possession of the
SRC’s traveling trophy for one year and will
have their school’s name affixed to the trophy to
commemorate their achievement.
To register for the SRC, please complete
the online entry form and mail a check for $50 to
the Siegel High School Band Boosters. All entries
and payments must be received by Sep 11, 2015.
Judges will use the 4 judge panel
procedures as set forth by the Tennessee
Bandmasters Association and will use the
TBA judge’s sheets. The contest hosts will
provide color guard and percussion sheets.
These scores will be their own separate
caption and have no effect on the
calculation of the band scores. The Stones
River Championship is an MTSBOA
sanctioned contest.
