Mark your calendar now for Canada’s Largest One Day Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland, on stage, at Kingswood Music Theatre. • For the category order, visit www.powercheerleading.com one week prior to the event. Each team will be listed in their respective category. Please note that there will be no changes permitted with the team order or category order for any reason. Your team will compete in your assigned category, in the assigned time-period. This event will follow PCA Competition standards PCA ALL MUSIC format. • Teams are NOT required to include a cheer in their routines. Teams that cheer will not be penalized, but will only have it scored as part of the over-all category. • Teams are responsible for providing their own music and a person to start and stop the CD. • Music must be provided in CD format. • Please do not use re-writable CDs. • Timing starts at the first obvious start of music, movement or cheering and stops upon the obvious completion. Entry and exit are not considered. • Routines exceeding the time limit will receive a 3 point deduction. • The competition floor is 54’ x 42’ and is covered with gym mats. • There is no penalty for stepping off the matted area. PCA reserves the option to combine or group divisions to optimize the competition. Teams in affected divisions will be notified prior to the competition. When necessary, divisions of the same LEVEL will be combined, before divisions of differing levels and only after the affected teams are informed of the decision. The final schedule / revisions will be posted at Kingswood Music Theatre on the morning of the competition. If your team is unable to compete, please call PCA prior to noon on Friday, May 12 at 1-800-567-7221. • Each 1st, 2nd & 3rd placing team will win a trophy • Every competing team in EACH of the divisions (based upon entries) will receive a commemorative award at the Competition. • There will be a draw for one fully paid camp tuition to the Power Cheerleading Camp at UWO in July. (Register for the draw at the sign-in table at Kingswood Music Theatre.) There will be a double panel of judges used, such that 2 divisions can run alternately. Please register on time to help us establish clear start times for teams. Everybody Is Welcome! START TIMES: The competition will start at 10:00 a.m. Division and team performance times will be posted by Thursday, May 11th on line, at this website: www.powercheerleading.com – then click on COMPETITIONS REGULAR RETAIL PRICE $56.26 each (7-59 yrs) CHEERLEADER’S TICKETS AND FEES Order $26 tickets for your Cheerleading Competitors. If your squad is not competing, order $24 Park tickets. See attached form. NOTE: There will be a designated practice area. When you arrive at the theatre, sign up to receive your practice time. FREE Tickets for Coaches! Also please note that unauthorized behind the scenes areas at Kingswood Music Theatre (including the lawn seating) are not permitted to be used as practice areas for safety reasons. • Bring up to 2 coaches FREE of charge on May 13th, 2006 • PLUS, for every 25 tickets sold, you will receive 1 complimentary 2006 ticket to the Park. Teams are asked to sign in at the Park between 9:00–10:00 a.m. At this time they will receive their starting positions. The Competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. Each team will perform its routine once. Please clear up any questions you might have, before the Competition. Matted floor area and sound equipment will be available for practice. The PCA floor marshall will supervise mat use and sound checks. The practice area is available to every competing team. All teams are responsible for providing a cued CD that is labeled with their team/school name. Each Wonderland Ticket can earn $3.50 FOR YOUR CHEERLEADING TEAM Order a block of $24 Park tickets for Saturday, May 13th to sell to family and friends. Take advantage of selling the tickets for $27.50 each, and earn $3.50 on each ticket for your fundraising purposes.
