EXHIBITIONS PUBLIC LIBRARY July / August 2016 AUGUST ________ JULY __________________________ Paintings and Sculptures, by Carmine J. Stasi “The Thin Place” Photography, by Joan Wozniak This photographic series, named after the Celtic concept of the place where distance between heaven and earth is especially thin, captures the clash of physical reality with spirituality, throwing one off balance. Both frightening and calming at the same time, this exhibit is visually inviting and contextually challenging. ee Everyone is invited to meet with Photographer Joan Wozniak at a reception on Saturday, July 9, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. This reception is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. A Long Island artist for many years, Mr. Stasi presents LI farmlands, water, and sunsets in brilliant colors and different shades of light. He uses this technique to present abstract works as well as realistic paintings, often reminiscent of long gone Long Island peach orchards. A multifaceted artist, Mr. Stasi will also display some of his sculptures, in which he creates beauty from discarded objects the ultimate recycling from found materials into artistic vision.
