slow seed development resulting in heavy crops of tender delicious dark

just like celery. Pick at 20-25cm (8-10in) long when flavour and vitamin
content is very high.
Courgette Zuccini (Black Beauty) (50p)
A very heavy and early yielder of solid mid-green courgettes. The early yield
is almost twice that of some other courgette varieties and it just keeps
producing firm, remarkably heavy fruit right through the season.
Cabbage – Primo (10p)

for cutting in the middle of summer. Produces large, heavy, solid cabbages
with excellent crisp leaves that are ideal for eating raw in salads as well as

BUSHES/SMALL TREES (VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES)
Kalmia Latifolia (£13.50)
Superb unusual flowers
Flower / Fruit from May-June. Glossy leaves and large pink blooms. A
relative of the ever-popular rhododendron, this hardy evergreen shrub will
thrive in a moist, acidic soil in full sun. Ideal for border or in a large
container of ericaceous compost on the patio, it boasts glossy green leaves
and an early summer display of exquisite crimped buds which burst open to
reveal large pink blooms. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Mature
height 2.5m. Average Growing Height: 2-3m.
Acer Palmatum (£12.50)
Well established plants
The Japanese Maple tree, Acer palmatum, is a small, spreading plant that
prefers partial shade and has rich red, orange and gold autumn leaves.
Ideal for small gardens and growing in pots. Planted in the garden, the
Japanese Maple will reach no more than about 5 metres tall (less if kept in a
large pot). Japanese Maple is a slow growing tree that is best left unpruned
if possible; it is naturally graceful and pruning often does more harm than
good to its structure, at least while the tree is still young.
Tree Peony Hu Hong (£14.00)
This tree peony, fairly new to the UK is one of the best. The double flowers
are pink at the edge and darker magenta-red toward the centre. They face
upwards, are 7 inches in diameter, and have a mild fragrance. This is a
dwarf, spreading plant, growing no more than 3 to 4 ft. tall and blooms very
generously.
Azalea 'Dwarf' (Rhododendron) (£8.50)
Azaleas are fantastic shrubs for exotic colour in spring and these compact,
evergreen azaleas become simply smothered with blooms. Slow-growing
and hardy, these small evergreen shrubs make excellent low maintenance
specimens for acid borders and patio containers. With a combination of
glossy, evergreen foliage and spectacular spring flowers, these azaleas will
give you year-round interest in the garden. Height and spread: 90cm (35").
Various colours. Flowering Period: April/May Position: dappled shade.
Azalea plants require an acid soil. If you don't have acid soil, simply plant
them in patio containers. When growing Azalea in containers, use a mix of
ericaceous compost and a soil based compost such as John Innes No 3.
Holly 'Golden King' Standard Tree
(Ilex x altaclerensis) £18.00
Contrary to its name, Golden King is an outstanding female Holly. A
fantastic specimen for year round interest, this handsome shrub bears
white flowers in spring and spherical red berries in winter, which are loved
by birds. Its toothed evergreen foliage makes a striking impression with
glossy green leaves that are edged with a golden yellow. This fabulous
standard holly tree is perfect for the garden, balcony or patio. Self-fertile,
perfect for growing in containers and very easy to care for, just requiring
regular water and occasional pruning. Ideal for all year round interest in
your garden. Mature height: 150cm (59"). Mature spread: 60cm (24").
