Exploring the Features and Benefits of Autoware 2 Associated
Instruments for Electrical Safety Testing . . . Since 1936 Exploring the Features and Benefits of Autoware 2 Associated Research, Inc. Associated Research is proud to announce our next generation automation and data collection software: Autoware 2. With an intuitive user interface and a variety of intelligent features, Autoware 2 will revolutionize the way customers perform electrical safety tests. The purpose of this document is to provide a brief description of some of Autoware 2’s new features. For more information, please visit our website at www.asresearch.com. Improved Drag and Drop Interface Autoware 2 sets the standard for an intuitive user experience. We have developed a simplistic graphical user interface that is user-friendly and easy to navigate. The color-rich display provides all the interactive tools necessary for setting up, modifying and executing tests. Visual indicators provide detailed information about the active features during testing. The drag and drop interface improves on our original design and makes it easy to customize test routines (see Figure 1 below). For those customers that prefer a traditional user experience, drop down menus are available that allow access to all of the software’s features. That’s why AW2 comes in 2 different versions: Full and Data Logging. The full version provides all the features and functions of the software. The Data Logging version provides the same intuitive interface but with fewer features – an economical solution for customers that are only looking to capture data from their electrical safety testing instrument. This feature allows customers to create custom verification test routines in order to verify the functionality of the electrical safety tester prior to executing test files. Choose from pre-configured Ground Continuity, Ground Bond, Insulation Resistance, and AC/DC Withstand verification routines or create a custom VeriChek test file. VeriChek files can be saved and stored independently from standard test files and can be configured to run prior to each test routine. Reduce Test Time with Batch Testing The Batch Testing feature revolutionizes the way safety tests are traditionally performed. With Autoware 2’s exclusive Batch Testing feature, customers can shave minutes off their test routines by testing multiple DUT’s simultaneously (see Figure 2 below). Combined with a scanning matrix, customers can perform AC/DC Withstand and Insulation Resistance tests on a variety of DUT’s in a convenient 1-step test. In the event of a failure, Autoware 2 will automatically test each individual DUT to isolate the cause of the failure. DUT’s will be tested individually only when a failure occurs. 2 Instruments for Electrical Safety Testing . . . Since 1936 Figure 2: Batch Testing Setup Simplify Complicated Test Setups with LLT Auto Fill The LLT Auto Fill feature allows customers to conveniently setup multiple Line Leakage tests without the need to create multiple test steps. While traditional software programs require a customer to tediously setup 8 Line Leakage test steps, Autoware 2 automates this timeconsuming process. With the LLT Auto Fill feature enabled, customers need only setup a single LLT test step and Autoware 2 will automatically create the 7 remaining test steps. The additional test steps will utilize the same user-defined test parameters but cover the remaining 7 fault conditions (for a total of 8 fault conditions). This feature will save valuable setup time for customers required to perform Line Leakage tests. Keep Operators Informed with Multimedia Prompts Associated Research’s patented Prompt and Hold features gets an upgrade with Autoware 2’s Multimedia Prompt feature. Create standard text prompts to provide instructions to the test operator before a particular test executes. In addition to a short text message, customers can insert an image, and audio message or a video clip (see Figure 3 below) for further clarification prior to testing. 3 Instruments for Electrical Safety Testing . . . Since 1936 Figure 3: Multimedia Prompts APT Power Source Compatibility Enhances Test System Capabilities Autoware 2 is the first electrical safety testing software package that can incorporate an AC power source into the test system. Decrease the complexity of a complicated test system by controlling both the electrical safety tester and AC power source from one piece of software. With Autoware 2, customers can utilize any programmable APT power source to provide DUT power during RUN and LLT tests. Automatic Instrument Detection With an improved System Settings window (see Figure 4 below), Autoware 2 quickly and easily identifies the test instruments that are connected to the system using Automatic Instrument Detection. Autoware 2 will automatically identify the model and available options regardless of the type of communications interface that is installed. AW2 is compatible with OMNIA 8000, 8100 and 8200 series instruments as well as the 620L. 4 Instruments for Electrical Safety Testing . . . Since 1936 Figure 4: System Settings Window Intelligent Error Handling Autoware 2 automatically captures common technical or user errors and provides thorough descriptions of the cause and solution to the error without cryptic error codes. Customizable Results With Autoware 2, customers can customize the way the software displays test results. Use Autoware 2’s Results window (Figure 5 below) to parse the data accordingly and export to .csv file. 5 Instruments for Electrical Safety Testing . . .
