In 2015 the ALGWA NSW Annual Conference is heading on an adventure to a
beachside oasis, between the mountains and the sea to the City of Wollongong.
The third largest city in NSW and ninth in Australia, Wollongong will host the 2015
ALGWA NSW Annual Conference. Perfectly positioned, Wollongong is only one
hour south of Sydney and easily accessed by road, rail and air. As a multicultural
city, surrounded by natural beauty, adventure and a growing foodie culture, there is
something for everyone.
Delegates will experience a conference that promises to be exciting, adventurous,
engaging and thought provoking. We will be tackling the tough topics around the
Leadership Adventure: Advocacy, Support and Education.

MASTER OF CEROMONIES
Amy Duggan
Amy is a WIN Network Presenter, currently presenting
WIN's All Australian News and the Sport on WIN News in
the Illawarra and South Coast, Central West and Riverina
MIA and Canberra.
With 15 years industry experience, she also holds a wealth
of television and sports knowledge. Amy is a former
elite soccer player who was first selected to play for the
Matildas in 1997 at the age of 17. She played her last game
for Australia in 2005 and won several awards playing the
'beautiful game'.
A mother of 3 children, she enjoys promoting sport, a
healthy balanced lifestyle and acting as a positive role
model. Amy has presented on Fishing Australia and
popular travel show, Destinations. She was the host of
Football Superstar reality series on Foxtel and a host and
commentator for women's football on the ABC. Amy is in
high demand to host functions and can be seen regularly
as the MC or guest speaker at events across the country.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Dr Clio Cresswell
Clio is one of Australia’s most stimulating and inspired
thinkers. Dr Clio Cresswell is an established best-selling
author and a senior lecturer in mathematics at The
University of Sydney.
She has focussed her thinking on big brain topics ranging
from Mathematics and Sex to The Ability of the Brain to
embrace Positive Change to Gender Experience.
And while she is an intellect, Clio also happens to
be one of Australia’s funniest and most entertaining
scholars whose specialty is connecting themes between
apparently unconnected subjects.
Clio features regularly on television, radio and press, with
celebrity interviews, serious book reviews, not-so-serious
radio, relationship advice, and expert panel appearances.
Her internationally acclaimed book Mathematics and Sex
has been translated into numerous languages.
Elizabeth Farrelly
Elizabeth is a columnist and author, who trained in
architecture and philosophy before practicing in London
and Bristol. She went on to gain a PhD in architecture
from the University of Sydney, where she is Adjunct
Associate Professor.
Dr Elizabeth Farrelly writes a weekly Opinion column
for the Sydney Morning Herald, and has written critical
columns on architecture for the same publication.
She is regularly called upon by television and radio to
comment on urban design, architecture, society and the
environment.
Elizabeth has authored numerous books, including Three
Houses, a monograph on 2003 Pritzker prizewinner
Glenn Murcutt (published by Phaidon, London 1993) and
Blubberland; the dangers of happiness (published by MIT
Press, 2007).
Elizabeth holds a number of national and international
writing awards, including the Paris-based CICA award for
architectural criticism (1992).

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Wendy Machin
Wendy Machin is non-executive Director and has
served on several Boards over the past 15 years in the
government, not-for-profit and private sector. She
is currently Deputy President of the NRMA, and was
President for six years. She also sits on the Destination
NSW Board, the ANZ Stadium Advisory Committee and
was recently appointed Deputy Chair of Australasian New
Car Assessment Program.
She was the first woman National Party MP in the NSW
Legislative Assembly. Between 1985 and 1996 she served
as a Cabinet Minister, Shadow Minister and as Deputy
Speaker of the House. Wendy has run her own consulting
business and has also worked in-house in a range of
companies and industry associations.
She was the Deputy Chair of the Australian Republican
Movement from 1998 to 2000 and a delegate to the 1999
Constitutional Convention.
Wendy owns and operates beef cattle properties in the
Manning Valley. She has a strong interest in disability
services, and is married with 3 adult children.
Sam Mostyn
Sam Mostyn is the President of the Australian Council for
International Development (ACFID) and a widely sought
after non-executive director and sustainability adviser.
She sits on the boards of Virgin Australia, Transurban
Group, Mirvac, Citibank Australia and CoverMore, and
has previously held senior executive roles at Insurance
Australia Group, Optus Communications and Cable &
Wireless plc.
Sam has been involved in a number of collaborative
social and environmental initiatives including the
Business Roundtable on Climate Change and Business for
Millennium Development. Sam was also the first woman
appointed the AFL Commission, has been a member of
the board of Australian Volunteers International for the
past 6 years, and served for several years on the board of
Reconciliation Australia.
