Howat-Records Clerk Principal’s Message Dress for the Weather Although spring had officially arrived, it looks like the rain and accompanying puddles are here to stay for a while. Please help ensure your child is dressed appropriately for all weather conditions (waterproof jacket, umbrellas, boots etc.). Students will be sent outside to get fresh air and exercise each day. An inside day will be called only when it is raining very heavily. You may want to send your child to school with a change of clothes, shoes, boots, socks or rain pants (just in case the puddles are too tempting). It is hard to believe that April is almost here. I hope that everyone had a restful and enjoyable time over spring break. The last three months of school are traditionally the busiest, and looking at our school calendar I don’t anticipate this year being any different. Please check our website often for frequent updates. We are already starting to plan for next year. If you know you will be moving and will not be attending Cougar Creek in September, please let the office staff know as soon as possible. COUGAR CREEK ELEMENTARY MARCH 30, 2016 Good Bye Mrs. Sjostrom Many of you may have already heard the news. Mrs. Sjostrom our head secretary will be retiring at the end of the month. Mrs. Sjostrom has been an employee of the district for 30 years and has worked at Cougar Creek for the past 5 years. We have been so lucky to have her run the school office. Mrs. Sjostrom is always smiling behind the counter and is that friendly voice behind the phone. Her extra service to both staff and students will be greatly missed. We wish you well in your retirement! Please come back and visit. Non-instructional Day and Early Dismissal In order to allow teachers to explore the new curriculum, the province has added an additional noninstructional day. Please note there is no school for students on Monday, April 18th. We will also have an early dismissal at 1:35 on April 26th. This is for student-led conferences. More details to come. Basketball Congratulations to both our girls’ and boys’ teams. Over the course of the season the athletes showed tremendous growth in skill and teamwork. Both teams should be proud of their efforts and success. The boys placed second in the playday finals and the girls placed first!
