Like the end of a long hot summer, such as
the one Europe has just experienced, when
everything is tinged with a certain glow
and the heat still lingers, one colour that
stands out amongst all the rich saturated
colours of the southern Mediterranean is
a particular shade of orange and the hues
that immediately transports you to the
sea against a backdrop of the deep blue
Mediterranean waters. These sunburnt
colours, faded by the light, aged a little by
the sea are used and seen everywhere from
the painted walls of old villas to beachside
umbrellas and sun lounges. It’s a particular
shade that says summer like no other.

Altuzarra was the highlight of New York for
Women’s SS14, so it’s no surprise that luxury
company Kering has recently decided to take
a minor stake in the label. Altuzarra’s collection
was an elevated version of dishevelled chic
with deconstructed men’s shirting, patchwork
and Japanese boro-like hand embroidery.
The looks appeared effortless, but there’s no
mistake that this level of informed imperfection
is Altuzarra’s cleverness at work. Each look
echoed his idea of easy dressing, and it’s easy
to see these pieces integrating into women’s
wardrobes without hesitation. A triumphant
collection indeed.

Lambs Conduit Street is a street in Bloomsbury in the West
End of London. The street is named after William Lambe, in
recognition of the £1,500 he gave for the rebuilding of the
Holborn Conduit in 1564. As soon as you enter the street you
are welcomed by a relaxed village like atmosphere thanks to
the many independent traders where you can easily become a
regular and get to know each trader by their first name. Lambs
Conduit Street, was rated by The Guardian in 2012 as one of
