MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR: JOHN GAWLAK, CPRP
Sunny days, blue skies and warm weather is just ahead! We have many
great program opportunities awaiting you and all members of your family!
Some exciting camps (ASAP, Hoop House Camp, Football, Summer Sizzlers,
Summer Playgrounds) provide great opportunities and lots of fun!
Below is a provided update on some of our park projects:
1. Vietnam Vets Parking Operational and Safety Enhancement Project by
the time this brochure reaches your home should be completed. This
project will provide an increase of upper parking lot +35 cars, a pedestrian
walk way, wider culvert and traffic turn around at the southern end of the
parking lot.
2. The Dog Park off of Quinnipiac St. with the land being cleared prior to
the spring, the fencing at the park is complete. The park is estimated for
an early summer opening. Thanks to DPW Engineering and the WDLA
for their continued support and efforts in making this project real.
3. Doolittle Park new hard ball field backstop is complete. In addition,
scheduled for installation the end of spring, player benches will be newly
installed and new shade structure.
4. Harrison Park little league field backstop has been completed, with any
hope, the parking lot will be chip sealed this summer.
5. Pragemann Park will be receiving an expanded parking lot for 41 cars
with work scheduled to begin late spring – early summer.
6. West Side Eagles Memorial Park Baseball/Football Field is slated for a
total makeover starting this August. The project includes new/improved
drainage, irrigation, sod and some fencing. The park will be closed for
baseball and football for almost up to a year. I appreciate the efforts
made of all of the youth leagues making accommodations for the leagues
temporarily without fields.
I know after the winter that just past, we are all looking forward to the great
summer weather. Please enjoy all of the enclosed recreational opportunities
provided this summer!
Thank you for your continued patronage!
All the Best
John Gawlak

international zest into the mix and
you’ve got a Zumba® class.
Zumba/Zumba Step/R.I.P.P.E.D

will feature alternating sessions of
these 3 great classes. Zumba is a
great dance-based cardio interval
workout that gets your heart rate up
and burns a significant amount of
calories. Zumba Step adds the step
platform to give additional variety
and toning benefits. R.I.P.P.E.D

this Summer!
