FROM THE NORTH
Take Route 287 South to Exit 17, formerly Exit 13 (Route 202-206 South)
Landmark: Pass Bridgewater Commons Mall on left; stay to right
Turn right onto Route 22 East
Immediately after the 2nd overpass, turn right onto Grove Street (just past Kentucky Fried
Chicken) Take Grove all the way to the end and make a right onto Main Street and a quick
left onto Warren Street.. 27 Warren Street is the last building on your left.
FROM THE SOUTH (Via Route 287)
Take Route 287 North to Route 22 West
Landmarks: Pass The Courier-News and Fleet Bank on the right
Immediately after the 1st overpass, turn right (see sign for Somerville)
Bear right, go up over the overpass; this leads to Grove Street
Take Grove all the way to the end and make a right onto Main Street and a quick left onto
Warren Street. 27 Warren Street is the last building on your left.
FROM THE SOUTH (Via Route 206)
Take Route 206 North
Landmark: On Route 206 North approaching Somerville, look for a low stone wall on left
(Duke Gardens) Shortly past this wall, turn right onto Bridge Street (Somerville)
At 1st traffic light, turn right onto Veterans Memorial Drive
The first left is Warren Street – 27 Warren Street is on the right.
FROM THE WEST:
Take Route 22 East into Somerville
Landmark: Pass Ethicon Inc. on left
Immediately after the 2nd overpass, turn right onto Grove Street (just past Kentucky Fried Chicken)
Take Grove all the way to the end and make a right onto Main Street and a quick left onto Warren
Street. 27 Warren Street is the last building on your left.
FROM THE EAST:
Take Route 22 West
Go under Route 287 overpass in Bridgewater
Landmarks: Pass The Courier-News and Fleet Bank on the right

Note: To get to the Unemployment office go to the end of Warren Street
and turn left onto Veterans Memorial Drive. Then turn left again into the
parking garage. Park on the upper levels. The Unemployment Office (75
Veterans Memorial Drive) is to the far right side of the parking garage.

A HIGH QUALITY, COMPREHENSIVE CAREER RESOURCE CENTER
In today’s challenging economy, everyone is in “career transition.” Job
security is linked to the understanding of current labor market trends
and the demand for changing and transferable skill sets. Career management skills are needed to obtain and retain employment. All job
seekers, whether high level professionals recently laid off from work or
entry level workers with low-literacy skills can benefit from quality career services that provide the support and skills for effective career
planning.
The Greater Raritan One-Stop Career Center serves Somerset and
Hunterdon Counties and provides employment readiness services for
individuals that fall into the following categories:
Career Ready: Those who are seeking self-sustaining, career
path employment, including recently dislocated workers.
Employment Ready: Those who have progressed to a level
where they are able to obtain some type of employment, although
the employment may not be self sustaining.
To Work Ready: Those who are able to participate in “To Work”
activities but who are not ready to get a job. Typically, they possess moderate workplace literacy skills, and minimal life skills.
Pre-Work Ready: Those who may have extremely low literacy
levels and require extensive support services.

Assistance in performing work related duties as a result of a disability?
The One-Stop Career Center can offer you individualized career and
vocational counseling, ADA information and advocacy and training
on disability related services and support.
Adult Basic Education - Improve basic math, reading and writing skills to become
eligible for further training. Learn workplace skills that are required to be successful on
the job.
Information regarding work opportunities for military veterans?
The One-Stop Career Center has Veterans Representatives
who specialize in assisting former military personnel.
GED Preparation - Gain knowledge to pass the GED exam through individualized instructional programs that use computer technology. Internet-based lessons are available for home practice.
Services to Improve your reading level and basic skills?
The One-Stop Career Center has Learning Links which provide
adult learners with instruction in reading, writing and math,
communication; financial literacy; job search; and employability/
life skills instruction in a self-paced environment.
English to Speakers of Other Languages - Creative software programs are available
to practice real-life English and to help master proper speech.
Basic Computer Skills - Learn basic computer skills such as: typing, email, searching
the internet and basic Windows and Word. For the more experienced user computerbased instruction is offered in Outlook, Word and Excel.
Information regarding work opportunities for mature workers?
The One-Stop Career Center works with the NJ Department of
Labor to implement the Workforce 55+ and Experience Works
programs which help limited-resource residents age 55 and older.
Help in starting your own business?
The One-Stop Career Center provides information on the SelfEmployment Assistance Entrepreneurial Training programs (SEA).
Assistance in making the transition from prison to work?
The One-Stop Career Center offers employment services for
ex-offenders.

Note: Individuals seeking literacy services for non-employment purposes
e.g. citizenship, personal growth etc. will be referred by the literacy coordinator
to the literacy services that meet their needs within the Somerset and Hunterdon
counties literacy community.

Workforce Learning Links
The Workforce Learning Link is a unique program merging computer-based, selfpaced learning with staff-assisted instruction in a workshop setting. The program is
designed to assist customers who need to improve their math, reading, verbal communications or computer skills.
The Greater Raritan Workforce Learning Link Centers were created to provide employment-oriented literacy training to One-Stop Career Center customers in Somerville, Flemington and Franklin.

Eligibility
Individual Career Counseling
The Workforce Learning Links are for all individuals who are at a 4th grade level or
above and want to improve their literacy skills. It does not matter if you have a job or
are unemployed, but you must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Workshops generally run six hours per day during regular business hours and all sites
can service those with hearing and/or sight impairments.
Each individual is required to meet with a career counselor and complete an employability plan. The Counselor will then schedule appropriate testing to determine
the individual’s literacy
level. Most people attend for six weeks.

Ask about Workforce Investment Act (WIA) services which
provide individual training grants up to $4,000 for dislocated
