showcases to
workshops to a
theme park!
MAYEN DIRECTS TWO TRUMPETS PLAYSHOP
SHOWCASES
Every summer TRUMPETS theater group
holds drama workshops for all ages. This year
Mayen was asked to direct the showcase
performance for two of the classes. These are
full scale musical performances over an hour
long with music, dance and acting. What a
challenge getting 60 teens put their iPods and
cell phones away and learn everything in two
weeks! Both shows were fantastic!
STEVE TEACHES DIRECTING AT REDEEM THE
AIRWAVES CONFERENCE
Mayen directed the Trumpets summer workshop showcase - two classes ages 12-18
This annual gathering is sponsored by United
Christian Broadcasters and gathers Christian
young people to challenge them to be involved
in media. I taught directing for the video
workshops.
It’s amazing to see what young
people can come up with when given the
training. So creative!
TRAINING AT A THEME PARK IN MINDANAO
We have a friend from church who’s family has
just opened a small theme park in the city of
Dapitan, Mindanao. Mayen and I were asked
to fly down and give all of the performers
lessons in acting. It was three days of teaching
from 7-11PM with mornings free to relax at a
beautiful beach resort, all expenses paid! A
nice combination of work and rest.

FAITH ACADEMY GRADUATION 2009 - THE 1st CLASS TO GRADUATE IN THE NEW AUDITORIUM
SPEAKING AT FAITH ACADEMY GRADUATION
This is the first class to graduate in the new
Dick and Helen Cadd Fine Arts Center and
the school thought it would be appropriate
to ask a member of the Cadd family to be
the graduation speaker. Being the only
Cadd in the vicinity, I was chosen. It was a
photo-finish flying in from Mindanao and
changing clothes in the car as we raced
from the airport to the school in only one
hour, arriving as the opening song was
ending. I barely had time to sit down on
stage when I was introduced and got up to
speak. I’m told it went well as I told stories
of my experiences as a student at Faith.
While I was teaching at the Redeem The
Airwaves conference, Chuck Quinley and a
couple of others friends went to Starbucks
during a break. Chuck began to tell the
story of how he had used a SWORD
Productions movie in planting a church on
the island of Mindoro a number of years
ago. He tells ministering in a rural farming
community that had a center for training in
the occult arts. After showing the movie

witnesses something he’d never seen before.
The men went and found their families and
lead them all up front to give their lives to
Christ! A church came into being that
night. Hotly persecuted, the small group of
around 70 people have stood firm and 5
pastors have risen out of that company of
tough believers to go out and plant other
churches. I asked Chuck to tell the story on
video and I’ve posted it on YouTube and
the SWORD website. On YouTube you

VIETNAM UPDATE

I’ll be leaving for Vietnam June 14-19 along
with Jeric Soriano who’ll be teaching them
about making commercials.
We’ve got
some new partners interested in helping so
please pray for a breakthrough with
the funding for equipment, etc. More
on Vietnam next month.
