H H ASC NINGS APPE 2010 ASC A20P10PENINGS 9T JULY H, 20 10 WELCOME TO CAMP HASC 2010! On Wednesday morning after a year of being empty, Camp HASC came to life as hundreds of campers and counselors stepped off of six busses on to camp the dining room and their bunk houses to enjoy a delicious lunch and have time to unpack. As the day came to a close the campers enjoyed a wonderful bonfire where they were able to reconnect, sing, and dance. As Thursday came around the campers were enthusiastic about starting Academics with their teachers and classmates. Although the day was long, it ended with an amazing performance by ‘everyone’s favorite uncle...Uncle Moishy!’ The campers danced and jumped with their counselors and had a blast! With two very successful days behind them Friday approached only to bring the camper’s very first Shabbos at Camp HASC 2010 closer! Academics and regular camp activities were experienced by all including: smoothie making, arts and crafts, decorating the dining room for waitresses, picking up snack, and making Shabbatograms! By the time it was time to go to the Shul for Mincha on Friday night, the Ruach was only beginning and continued all the way till late hours in the dining room, followed by an inspirational Shiur by Rav Paysach Krohn! grounds. They were greeted by lots of friendly faces, music, an abundant amount of hugs and more. After an eventful arrival, everyone headed to A hot sunny Shabbos day came next where campers were H ASC NINGS APPE 2010 able to bond with their counselors while making sure to drink a ton and keep applying sun tan lotion. The food was delicious, and division activities so much fun! The campers then went to sleep after a n outstanding M e l ave M a l k a , excited to wake up the next morning for July 4th festivities! Independence day Sunday surely did not go unnoticed at Camp HASC! There was an amazing pie eating contest and later the Campers were able to participate in an independence day parade. They not only walked, but prepared displays as well. They painted, glued, cut, and colored beautiful posters and signs which they then marched with on Rechov Yankie Eisen. The sun continued to shine as the campers began their wonderful baseball game o n the field! There we r e s o m a ny home runs! Everyone was r e m a r k a b ly impressed by the camper’s fantastic efforts! Just when the day seemed to be coming to a close, Eli and Yaakov Mordechai Gerstner showed up, performing one amazing show! The campers and all the staff were blown away and were so sad when he had to leave! The long weekend continued on Monday which was Carnival Day! There were so many games and blow up attractions set up all over the lawn. Every camper was able to participate whether on the slide, in the water park, or just by grabbing some snacks! There was popcorn and cotton candy, as well as a clown giving out balloons! Next came the welcome animal parade where donkeys, rabbits, and sheep were escorted from the Shul to the infirmary porch. All the campers were able to pet and say hi to animals to make them feel at home at Camp HASC. The campers had huge smiles on their faces, and after a long day in the sun, bouncing on the moonwalk, and spraying water guns, the campers continued the fun at art night. H ASC NINGS APPE 2010 As soon as Tuesday came around the campers were pumped to enjoy a busy day and party at the Hawaiian Night Luau! There were hula skirts, necklaces and flowers, accompanied by Hawaiian music and new dance moves! The week was slowly coming to a close as Thursday approached. The campers were seen to once again be enjoying daily activities like swimming, calisthenics, and the sensory room! As the sun began to set there was a Kollel concert on the basketball courts that was so much fun. After dinner the campers quickly headed to the gym where they enjoyed a night of steal the bagel. SEG came to visit the YAP women on Wednesday morning, where they created wonderful sand art! Right before dinner some campers were able to make delicious ice cream on the green lawn, when later that night Pay Daled joined camp HASC in the gym for a hopping concert full of crazy dance moves. Friday is here again and Shabbos i s d r aw i n g near. We are so excited to have an unbelievable weekend in Camp HASC again! We are all looking forward to next week! Have a GREAT Shabbos!
