What is your philosophy about work? To be Good to Great! Everyone is good at what they are doing, but being great at it is always a ponder. What motivates you to do your best on the job? To be able to set a foot print that is deep enough in the travel industry. One day when you look back, you will know that you have influenced the Industry. How best do you handle pressure? Just bring it on! Everything in life is somehow relates to stress and pressure, therefore there will be no fun and challenges in life if there is no pressure My most exciting moment was.... Able to empower partners with technology and see how travel technology evolve their business. If I had a magic wand I would.... "Break it!" Because nothing is magic, it’s all hard work. I can't live without.... Golf, because it helps me to destress. On Saturday night you can find me at.... Butter Factory, Zouk, Marini 57 or probably Changkat Bukit Bintang. Work Hard Play Hard....!!! Amadeus Malaysia recently held the “Get Onboard with Amadeus” event at Doubletree by Hilton in Kuala Lumpur. The full day event was divided into 2 sessions with participation of more than 80 travel agents that derives from existing customers and prospects. To accommodate the event name, the guests were ushered to a mock up Departure Lounge with our airport theme styling. There were Airport Departure Board, Boarding Gate, Baggage Claims and Departure & Arrival Hall signage. The guests were surprised with the setup and were eager to use their “Boarding Pass” replica which was sent to them earlier as invitation cards to enter the The event took flight with a warm welcome speech by our General Manager, Marilyn Teoh and departing to Amadeus Altéa, highlighting the key benefits for both airlines and travel agencies. To create a lively event, there was a role playing act starred by Amadeus staffs to give a better understanding on the differences between Altéa and non Altéa carriers. We have also invited our Altéa partner on board, Maher Elaify, Regional Manager from Egyptair Airlines. He shared success story about his great journeys and experiences on how Amadeus Altéa has influenced Egyptair Airlines by benefiting their customers. Apart from Amadeus Altéa being the main highlight, we also showcased several solutions like Amadeus All Fares, Amadeus Selling Platform Connect & many more during the event. To create excitements among the travel agents, we created 3 interactive game sessions with our participants. ‘Plan a Plane’ game is one of the top favourite whereby the participants had to fold a paper planes and whichever plane that flew the furthest win. Many of them were reminiscing and would never think that this childhood skill will be used on a competition. The guests seem to enjoy themselves as there were laughter and joy throughout the session. As the event was drawing to an end, four lucky guests walked away with our exclusive Amadeus Luggage Cabin Trolley bag during the Lucky Draw session. Thanks to our generous sponsor from Egyptair Airlines, one lucky guest walked away the Grand Prize of one return Economy Class ticket to Cairo that worth MYR2,000. “This is an excellent news to all travel agencies, with more Altéa carriers coming onboard, we don’t have to worried about double checking data with airlines, said Charles Ng, Managing Director, GSI Travel Sdn Bhd, who attended the event. As the guests were leaving on the mock Arrival Hall, they were assisted to the Baggage Claim counter to collect a luggage kit with a travelling set as a goodbye gift. The event was a great success with more than 50 sales leads generated. The results were indeed satisfying as many of the participants were interested in enquiring more about Amadeus Altéa. July August THAI and Amadeus extend partnership with new full content agreement Amadeus travel agency points of sale worldwide will benefit from guaranteed access to THAI and THAI Smile full range of fares, schedules and availability via the Amadeus system. Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, and Thai Airways International (THAI), the flag carrier of Thailand, have signed a long-term, full content agreement that enables the airline to reach Amadeus’ network of travel agencies across the world. Amadeus users worldwide will now have guaranteed access to the entire range of fares, schedules and availability relating to more than 18 million seats sold annually by THAI and its new brand, THAI Smile. Under the new agreement, Amadeus users will have access to the same THAI content and under the same conditions as those offered through the airline’s direct channels and any other distribution channels including content distributed through the airline’s ticketing office, call centres and website. “Amadeus has proven to be an outstanding partner to THAI over the past two decades, supporting us as we move towards becoming the leading airline in Asia and among the best worldwide. We are pleased to expand our partnership with Amadeus, ensuring that travel agents worldwide enjoy the highest level of access to our full range of content and services,” said THAI Executive Vice President, Commercial, Mr Danuj Bunnag. David Brett, President, Amadeus Asia Pacific, said, “This agreement reflects Amadeus’ close working relationship with THAI which extends beyond today’s agreement to e-commerce and also to its passenger service system where Altéa is now a key component. We are absolutely committed to securing sustainable and longterm partnerships with leading airlines like THAI, to deliver the widest range of content to our global network of customers.” THAI and Amadeus have enjoyed a long term partnership since 1990, when the airline became Amadeus’ first Asian customer. Ever since, the airline has implemented different Amadeus solutions including Amadeus’ revenue maximization solutions that have helped the airline maximise profitability. Amadeus Malaysia launches new hotel solution Amadeus Malaysia, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, today announces the launch of a breakthrough solution for travel agencies in the market. Amadeus Hotels Plus (Multisource) is a one-stop-shop search platform integrating Amadeus’ GDS hotel properties with content from leading hotel aggregators to allow Amadeus travel agents to search and book hotel content from multiple sources in a single screen. Hotel booking processes at travel agencies are rarely standardised across points of sale, with travel agencies shopping for rates across a variety of channels, both GDS and third party websites, and even double checking directly with hotels, which wastes both time and money when researching and making bookings, as well as with the paperwork and data consolidation afterwards. Marilyn Teoh, General Manager, Amadeus Malaysia said that travel agencies were increasingly looking for a broader range of hotel content to meet growing traveller needs. “Travel agencies in Malaysia will now be able to access combined ‘multi-source’ content displays with the ability to pre-pay, confirm bookings, issue vouchers and receive commissions instantly at the point of sale. This means the booking process is simpler and they have more time to service their customers.” Kartikeya Tripathi Head of Hotel Distribution, Amadeus Asia Pacific, said, “Changing consumer behaviour and enabling easier access to direct hotel content is creating both challenges and opportunities for our travel agency and hotel partners which is exactly what this new solution addresses. Aggregators such as Destinations of the World, Transhotel, and HRS are already in the platform providing access to rates and pricing from 250,000 hotel properties worldwide.” In conjunction with the launch, Amadeus will be conducting a three-months promotion period for Amadeus subscribers in Malaysia. Travel consultants can book hotels and earn cash vouchers at the same time. Log in to Amadeus website to find out more! Amadeus Top Agent Hotel Booking Promotion 11 June - 31 December 2013 Join now! Amadeus volunteers arrived at the orphanage in the morning, with the standard introducing and ice breaking sessions to kick off the day. The children eagerly followed and helped the volunteers as they start moving some computers to be installed. As soon as the computers were up and running, the volunteers teaches them some basic computer skills, which most of them do not know how the computer can be utilized in so many different ways. The children were happy that they could gain some newly acquired skills that could help them in their future endeavor. The kids were very happy with the meal that was provided by the team as they were chatting and eating away happily together with the volunteers. After lunch, the children were taught some basic necessity of English spoken words. Throughout the session, the kids were putting in a lot of effort in trying to learn as much as they can from the volunteers. Overall, it was definitely a fruitful and successful outing as the main goal of providing some basic learning skills to the children was achieved. This outing creates a great bonding with the orphans, and opportunity for Amadeus to help those that are in need.
