Thanks to everyone who was able to support our first whole
school trip last week. Teachers are planning a trip each term
as an extension of learning programmes which is a fabulous
way for the children to learn. I am aware that each trip has a
cost though and that the next trip is early in Term 3 and we
have swimming lessons planned from the middle of Term 3
as well (information coming home soon but the cost of buses
will be subsidised). Please be assured that these events can be
paid off at a smaller amount each week by setting up a direct
debit with the bank. Alternatively you can always talk to me
if you require any additional support.
RemindersThisWeek
Hopefully, everyone received my safety message around the
use of the parent car-park via email yesterday. Thanks for
your support with using the pedestrian crossings in this space.
It is vital to keep our children safe and model good behaviour
in there. If you have any concerns about the car-park please
follow up with me or a member of our elected Board of
Trustees.
We are updating our website with a brief bio of our elected
Board Trustees so check them out under School Community.
Congratulations to Simon McDermott who was elected as our
Chairperson for the remainder of 2016, and congratulations to
all of our trustees who are already hard at work on our
community’s behalf – Lee-Ann Irving, Joe Bennett, Sam
Forward and Rob Hunt.

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and older siblings who
gave up their time to help on the trip to the Canterbury Museum last
week. Also thank you for the feedback around the trip, we have
taken it on board for next time.
School trips are only possible with support from parents and we
greatly appreciate it and look forward to our Ferrymead Heritage
park trip next term.
