Week 5 Thursday 2 June: Interschool’s Cross Country at Rabbit Island for selected Years 5-8 students. (postponement date Friday 3 June) Friday 3 June: PARENTS GROUP MEETING – All welcome, meet outside the hall 1pm onwards. Friday: Y8 Leadership day – thanks again to parents for transporting our students to Nelson for this Friday: Senior mini ball. The Ngatimoti Attackers play Parklands Pacers at 4.30pm. Good luck! What’s happening next week? Week 6 MONDAY 6 JUNE: QUEENS BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY. No school, no intermediate miniball, no netball training – have a fun weekend! Tuesday 7 June: Rippa Rugby tournament for selected Y4-6 students in Motueka. Separate transport notice sent out for this. Thank you again to transporting parents!! REMINDERS… Please pay outstanding Miniball fees ($15 per player) online to 03 1354 0359568 00. Also MOTEC and CAMP fees, thank you. School Donations: For 2016 for 1 child at school = $25, for 2 children = $40, with a maximum family donation of $50 for 3 or more children. Return your pool key to the school office for your $10 refund. Note: $10 refund cannot be paid on purchase of next year’s key in December; this is so we can gauge how many keys we need to get cut each year. Thanks for supporting our school pool this year! Healing Species Programme continues every Thursday morning for Y7 & 8 students. This week’s theme is “Diversity and Tolerance” GET SET GO! Continues on Fridays with Sport Tasman – ask your child what they are learning at Get Set Go! Well done everyone for taking your rubbish home and/or bringing less packaging in your school lunches! Our bins are collected fortnightly and this fortnight we only filled one wheelie bin for the whole school! Woohoo! We think that’s good going! Our whole school visited Te Awhina Marae last Friday, thank you all for your support, for providing food to share and helping transport and supervise students throughout the day. Tino pai - te tāpaepae o te rangi! Welcome A warm welcome to Mrs Amber Beech who will be teaching in Room 3 on Mondays for the rest of the term instead of Mr Hepburn. BUS NOTICES Please let us know if your child is not to travel home on the bus if they usually do so! SEND A TEXT TO 027 526 8842. If you do not receive acknowledgement of your text it may not have reached us so call 03 526 8842 or email [email protected]. The safety of our students is our first priority and it is of great concern if we cannot find them and they are on our list of students to board the bus at the end of the day. The bus roll is held at the office so please just text or call to let us know. Thank you for helping us to get your children home safely. School Photo orders Thank you for returning your order envelopes to school. The deadline for returns is next THURSDAY 9 June. A couple of points to remember when returning your envelopes: You must return your blank envelope to school if you want to receive your free class photo. (Thanks Festival 2015!) If you purchase a value pack take $12 off the price as the class photo is free, so either value pack costs $13, NOT $25 Do not pay to school. All queries and payments to be made directly to Scott Kilmore (details on your order envelope) You may also order a whole school photo (as in last week’s newsletter) at a cost of $10 for 20 x 30cm print, or $12 laminated. Please request this on your order envelope if required. Inter-schools Cross Country – Rabbit Island Thurs 2 June Thank you for all your offers of transport to this event tomorrow – you parents are amazing! We have 29 students entered into the race – good luck to all of you! RUNNERS: Please assemble outside the hall at 8.50am in the morning to find your ride – ask Amanda in the office if you are confused. You will return to school for the afternoon following the race. The Tackle 7s Rugby tournament finally went ahead with a sunny day yesterday! Well done to Josh, Arowen, Miro, Amy, Jamie, Ollie, Kim, Noa, Josefin, Maya and Ashleigh who came 5th overall. Thank you too to supporting parents and to Mr Hepburn for being an awesome coach! SCHOOL ENVIRO PROJECT – HELP! We are looking for donations of the following materials so we can build a solar food dehydrator at school. Ngatimoti Netball Well done to last week’s players of the day: Amy, Aaliyah and Lexus! There are no netball games this Queen’s Birthday weekend. Y1 & 2 continue training at lunchtimes on Fridays. Thank you! NGATIMOTI SCHOOL PARENTS GROUP - CAKE ROSTER We offer cakes for sale for $1 each as a Friday treat to students. Parents donate the cakes and their time for this and the children really look forward to their Friday cakes! So as a parent is it clear to you what you need to do on your cake duty day? Please arrive in time for lunch with approximately 24 muffins, slices or cake. If you can’t be here on the day, please send the cakes along in the morning to Amanda, and we will organise somebody to serve. By 12.30pm, arrive, set up the big table in the hall. As students line up (little ones first), serve. Wipe the table and clean up. Everyone participated in this event, tried their best, and had a lot of fun. Well done to all of the students that took part! Everyone supported their house colours Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, by cheering their houses members and everyone else on, and wearing the colour of their house. Great job everyone! And well done Green House who gained the most house points and celebrated by receiving a trophy! A big thank you to: Glen who organized the event and trained some of the students; Ed for letting us use his land for our track and the amazing students that joined in! Good luck to everyone who was chosen to represent Ngatimoti at the interschool Cross Country tomorrow! NGATIMOTI FESTIVAL 2016: NEW FLYER/POSTER DESIGN WANTED. We are looking for a fresh new flyer design for this year’s festival. We have heaps of time and are lucky to be able to get the flyers and posters printed free of charge so if you fancy having a go, we just need an image!
