Dear Parents, Warm greetings from Velammal family. As everyone knows, the name Velammal Educational Trust has cut a niche in the hall of fame due to its outstanding performance in various areas of social and academic endeavour. We earnestly appreciate your intelligent decision of choosing Velammal Vidyalaya , Ladanendal for your ward’s study. Here in Velammal Residential School, we endeavour to nurture each one of the children to achieve his/her potentials beyond conventional Academic success. The one another school year at our Velammal Residential School is about to commence. This year also , we take much care to keep the ambience students friendly which ensures to have smooth facilitation of CBSE Curriculum.. We’re absolutely confident that we can cater for your ward’s individual needs. Herewith we’ve enclosed the list of items each student is to bring at the time of joining , the rules and regulations of the school for the parents’ reference and other informations. The school re- opens on 04.04.2013, Thursday. The students should be brought to school by the parents between 3.30 p.m.to 5.00 p.m of 03.04.2013, Wednesay. 2. The school uniforms, books , notebooks, shoe , socks and other items required for the students will be provided by us in the school. 3. Kindly send 3 sets of formal night dress (loose pant and shirt ) , and 4 sets of formal colour dress with the stitching of the Hostel Registration number of the students inside along with the items present in the check list. 3 sets of night dress will be provided by the school in the month July. The students wont be encouraged to have the dresses and the inners without the stitching of the Hostel Registration number Parents can visit their wards as per the given schedule ( will be intimated ) Kindly avoid coming in person to meet the children in between the weekends and school hours. This will make other children to feel sad and disturbed. 4. Students will be permitted to go home during the allotted holidays. Parents can take them from the school between 2:00 and 4:00 P.M. on the days notified and should bring them back to the school between 4:00 and 6:00 P.M.on the given date. In case of any unexpected holidays the parents will be intimated immediately over phone or by SMS. 5. Parents who come without prior permission will not be permitted to meet the children. 6. Parents are requested to submit their (Father& Mother) stamp size photos and the authorized guardian of the ward to the school to prepare and issue “Visitor’s ID Card”. Parents / Guardian will be allowed to meet their wards or to take them home for month end holidays only if they produce the Visitor’s ID card. 7. Students are expected to report to school on time after every out pass. The school does not entertain late arrivals. 2 8. If the parents are not able to come in person to pick their ward, they should send an authorization letter with the visitors pass through the person who is escorting the child. It is mandatory. 9. During the outpass time, parents are asked to show their Visitor’s ID card to the Teacher In – charge, sign in the outpass register and collect the Gatepass. 10. Phone calls are permitted as per the given schedule. Parents are requested to ensure that each call that they make does not exceed 6 minutes. 11. We strongly believe that sending a letter is the next best thing to show up personally at someone’s door. It is ideally recommended for all the students. Hence you are requested to provide sufficient envelops to your wards to encourage the art of reading & writing. 12. The children availing leave to attend marriages/ family functions, visit temples etc will not be encouraged by the school. This affects the academic of the children and the regular schedule of the school. Kindly avoid it and help your kids to maintain regularity and punctuality. Marks will be allotted according to the number of working days. 13. It has been arranged that the expenses incurred due to minor medical expenses, transport, stationeries and hair cut, need not be paid by the parents every month. The amount will be deducted from the contingency deposit (Rs.5000/-) made during the admission. 14. Kindly don’t send any type of eatables. 15. When you visit your ward, please avoid bringing large quantities cooked food of any kind. 16. Parents can meet Principal only with prior appointment. 17. Parent can make a call to the school office between 8.00 am to 4.00 pm for enquiries. 18. There is a qualified Doctor and a Nurse available in the school campus for making routine medical checkup and minor treatment. Kindly submit a copy of your wards medical history & medical report and immunization details; it will help us for necessary follow up. For all emergencies, an Ambulance has been stationed in the school campus. Parents are requested not to administer any medicine to their wards without the knowledge of the Principal. 3 19. The School follows the counseling session for the students in order to give personal attention to their emotional & psychological problems. You can meet the student counselor when you visit your wards to enquire about their problems and other aspects of their well being. 20. Parents are requested to kindly understand that it would take even two month for the children to settle down fully. Hence you are requested to bear with the initial disturbances and allow the management and our student counselor to convince the children, to continue their stay and study in the school. 21. The school will arrange for the daily needs of your ward like soap, oil, tooth brush, paste, hair oil etc., by the payment during your visit. 22. Parents are requested not to send costly items like Gold ornaments, watches, cell phones, cameras, I - pod etc with their wards. 23. Kindly avoid visiting & sending cakes, chocolates during your child’s birthday. You can wish them over phone on their birthdays. We will have a birthday celebration in the school. Please avoid your visits which will be a cause of upset for other children. 24. Whenever you meet your ward or speak over phone, please give positive advice and encouragements. Whenever you get any complaint from your ward, please feel free to cross check the same with the School Management. 25. Your valuable suggestions can be dropped in the suggestion box during your visits. 4
