KX100
WORLD FAMOUS JUNIOR MOTORCROSSER
The KX100 shares more than just looks with the bigger KX models.
It is powered by a super-responsive liquid-cooled, 2-stroke racing engine and features advanced
frame and suspension technology adapted from full-sized KX motocrossers.
At both the amateur and professional levels, Kawasaki has long been a dominant brand in junior
motocross. Many top professional riders started their race careers riding Kawasaki junior KX
machines.
The KX100s is economical and easy to maintain.
KX100 owners also get the Team Green advantage with free hour meter, log book and parts kit.
Engine
*The high-performance 99cc liquid-cooled 2-stroke engine features the Kawasaki Integrated Power-valve
System (KIPS®) that varies exhaust port height for increased horsepower and torque.
Maximum power of 21.0 kW {29.2 PS} is produced at 11,500 rpm. Maximum torque is 18.4 N-m at 10,500 rpm.
The cylinder is Electrofusion plated for efficient seizure resistance, heat transfer and long wear.
*A Keihin PWK 28 semi-flat slide carburettor positions the nozzle jet
close to the cylinder for sharp response across the rev range.
*Precise, digital CDI ignition delivers a hot spark and reliable ignition.
*A separate clutch cover gives easy access to the clutch for routine
maintenance.
The large air intake on the right side of the airbox improves airflow to the
air cleaner.
Chassis
*Perimeter type frame offers the advantages of strength and torsional rigidity making the KX100 handling
among the best in class.
*The 36 mm upside-down front forks deliver sharp handling and smooth
jumping performance.
®
*Bottom-Link UNI-TRAK rear suspension offers 275 mm of travel and
features a remote-reservoir gas charged shock that is fully adjustable for
spring preload, compression and rebound damping.
*The sturdy race developed swingarm delivers good handling performance
over rough terrain.
*Tough spokes and nipples reduce wheel maintenance.
*Hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear, are progressive and powerful allowing
riders to brake later into the first turn after grabbing the holeshot over the field.
