DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY:
DAY 1: Sat, June 04 – HONOLULU – NARITA/TOKYO. Depart Honolulu via JAPAN AIRLINES #783 at 12:35 pm.
DAY 2: Sun, June 05 – NARITA/TOKYO. Arrive Narita Airport at 4:20 pm. After entry formalities, transfer by coach
to your hotel in Tokyo. Enjoy your Welcome Dinner at a local Izakaya. GRAND PACIFIC LE DAIBA (3 Nights) (D)
DAY 3: Mon, June 06 – TOKYO. After a sumptuous buffet breakfast, embark on a full day of discovery! View
the Imperial Palace. Asakusa is the center of Tokyo’s shitamachi (literally “low city”), one of Tokyo’s districts,
where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa’s main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular
Buddhist temple built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has
been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries. Today’s
highlight will be a hands-on, Sushi-Making session, which will yield your delicious lunch. Ameyoko is a busy
market street along the Yamanote Line tracks between Okachimachi and Ueno Stations. The name “Ameyoko” is a
short form for “Ameya Yokocho” (candy store alley), as candies were traditionally sold there. Alternatively, “Ame”
also stands for “America”, because a lot of American products used to be available there when the street was the
site of a black market in the years following World War Two. Today, various products such as clothes, bags, cosmetics,
fresh fish, dried food and spices are sold along Ameyoko. After visits to Meiji Shrine and the visually stimulating
Harajuku Shopping District, return to your hotel. Evening at leisure to explore your surroundings for a multitude
of dining and shopping options! (B, L)
DAY 4: Tue, June 07 – TOKYO. Full Day at Leisure. (B)
DAY 5: Wed, June 08 – TOKYO – HAKONE. We now make way to Mt. Fuji – we will ascend to the 5th station
at an elevation of 7,500 feet above sea level. Continue to Hakone. We begin with a 20 minute ropeway from
Togendai to Owakudani. Much of the area is considered an active volcanic zone since its creation from the
eruption of Mount Hakone some 3,000 years ago. Enjoy a boat ride on beautiful Lake Ashi. Enjoy the traditional
Japanese “ryokan” style of hospitality. Savor an authentic multi-course, seasonal, gourmet kaiseki dinner. The
public baths – which are divided for men and women – allow you to enjoy the hot springs whether indoors or
outdoors. The high-quality service and facilities are sure to become some of your fondest memories of your visit to
Japan. SENGOKUHARA PRINCE HOTEL (1 Night) (B, L, D)
DAY 6: Thur, June 09 – HAKONE – BULLET TRAIN RIDE – HIROSHIMA – MIYAJIMA. Morning at leisure to
enjoy another soak in the onsen hot springs and explore the manicured hotel grounds. Later transfer to Odawara
Train Station where we will board a Shinkansen Bullet Train (reserved seating) to Hiroshima Station – (your
suitcases will be sent separately to your Okayama hotel by baggage truck.) After a short ferry ride arrive on the island
of Miyajima, considered sacred by many. This evening soak in the relaxing atmosphere of Iwaso Inn and the
onsen, hot spring baths. You can enjoy the beauty of the primeval forests and gentle sound of mountain streams
while taking a bath. This evening enjoy a Traditional, Multi-Course Kaiseki Dinner featuring Hiroshima’s local
and seasonal ingredients including fresh seafood from the Seto Inland Sea. IWASO INN (1 Night) Onsen and Kaiseki
Dinner (B, D)
DAY 7: Fri, June 10 – MIYAJIMA – HIROSHIMA – OKAYAMA. After a delicious breakfast explore Itsukushima
Shrine. At high tide, the vermilion torii gate looks like it’s floating in the middle of the sea. The shrine complex is listed
as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Miyajima has been selected as one of Japan’s three most scenic places (nihon
sankei). Now board the ferry back to Hiroshima. In Hiroshima visit the Peace Memorial Park, Atomic Bomb
Museum, A-Bomb Dome and Children’s Memorial. Upon arrival to Okayama enjoy an evening of shopping
and dining at the Super AEON Shopping Mall. HOTEL GRANVIA OKAYAMA (B, L)
DAY 8: Sat, June 11 – OKAYAMA – KURASHIKI – HIMEJI – KYOTO. Visit Kurashiki and it’s beautiful BikanArea. In merchant days, this scenic town thrived as a port for rice shipments. Several old rice granaries and examples
of historic architecture still remain, in addition to the stone lined canal. Next we drive to Himeji to visit Himeji Castle.
It is known as “White Egret Castle” and “White Heron Castle” because of it’s brilliant white exterior, resembling
a bird taking flight. Himeji Castle is the largest and most visited castle in Japan. This splendid example of traditional
architecture was declared one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Japan. Arrive in Kyoto. ROYAL PARK
HOTEL KYOTO (3 Nights) (B, L)
DAY 9: Sun, June 12 – KYOTO. After a sumptuous Japanese/Western buffet breakfast at the hotel, embark on a full
day of sightseeing beginning with a visit to the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), a Zen Temple whose top two
floors are completely covered in gold leaf. Next visit Heian Jingu Shrine. The shrine was built on the occasion of the
1100th anniversary of the capital’s foundation in Kyoto and is dedicated to the spirits of the first and last emperors who
reigned from the city, Emperor Kammu (737-806) and Emperor Komei (1831-1867). Heian is the former name of
Kyoto. A giant torii gate marks the approach to the shrine. Today’s hands-on experience is “Surikomi Yuzen (brush
dyed Yuzen)”. Since the patterns are dyed by placing a paper stencil over a Tablemat you can make an authentic
piece, even if this is your first time. Lastly, we visit Kiyomizu Temple (literally “Pure Water Temple”). In 1994, the
temple was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. (B, L)
DAY 10: Mon, June 13 – KYOTO. Full Day at Leisure. (B)
DAY 11: Tue, June 14 – KYOTO – OSAKA – HONOLULU. On our way to Osaka, experience a traditional Japanese
Tea Ceremony before having lunch at the Hotel Nikko Nara’s buffet. Next visit the Todaiji Temple, the largest
wooden building in Japan, which houses the larges bronze statue of Buddha at 16.3 meters high. The surrounding
Nara Deer Park is inhabited by over 1,000 deer. Before arriving in Osaka, stop at COSTCO for a little shopping.
Yes COSTCO! Don’t forget your membership card. Enjoy your Farewell Dinner. Transfer to Kansai Osaka International
Airport for our flight home. Depart at 10:10 pm via JAPAN AIRLINES #792. Arrive same day in Honolulu at 10:55 am.

2016 FALL TAKAYAMA AUTUMN FESTIVAL: DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Wed, Oct 5 – HONOLULU – OSAKA. Depart Honolulu via HAWAIIAN AIRLINES FLT #449 at
2:05 pm.
Day 2: Thur, Oct 6 – OSAKA. Arrive Kansai International Airport at 6:15 pm. After entry formalities,
walk to hotel located acroos the Kansai Airport. A deluxe buffet dinner has been arranged at hotel.
HOTEL NIKKO KANSAI (1 Night) (D)
Day 3: Fri, Oct 7 – OSAKA – NARA – KYOTO. In the morning we will travel to Nara, the oldest
capital city of Japan. Visit Todaiji Temple, the largest wooden building in Japan. The largest bronze
statue of Buddha at 16.3 meters high and the surrounding park is inhabited by over 1,000 Shika Deer.
Then we proceed to Uji where we will experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Next visit,
Byodoin Temple. Together with its garden, the temple represents the Pure Land Paradise and was
influential on later temple construction. Byodoin was initially built in 998 as a countryside retreat villa
for the powerful politician Fujiwara no Michinaga, not as a temple. On our way to Kyoto, we will visit
the stunning vermilion colored Fushimi Inari Shrine, whose 4km long tunnel of scarlet torii gates
was featured in the film Memoirs of a Geisha. After check in, explore the many restaurants and shops
conveniently located near your hotel. NEW MIYAKO HOTEL KYOTO (2 Nights) (B, L)
Day 4: Sat, Oct 8 – KYOTO. Today we continue our tour of Kyoto, once the capital of Japan and
still considered its cultural center. First is a visit to the famous Kiyomizu Temple (literally “Pure
Water Temple”), is one of the most celebrated temples of Japan. It was founded in 780 on the site
of the Otowa Waterfall. In 1994, the temple was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites.
Today’s hands-on experience is “Surikomi Yuzen (brush dyed Yuzen)”, which is one of Kyoto’s
traditional craft “Kyo-Yuzen Dyeing” techniques. Since the patterns are dyed by placing a paper stencil
over a piece of fabric, such as a table mat you can make an authentic piece, even if this is your first
time. Your very own original work will be a perfect memento for yourself of a gift for someone. Lunch
will be served at “Ganko Sanjo” where you will enjoy a specially prepared teishoku set – “Ganko
Gozen”.Next, visit Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), a Zen Temple whose top two floors are
completely covered in gold leaf. Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was the retirement villa of
the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. Lastly, we will tour Gion, the old Geisha Quarter. Our local tour
guide will have many suggestions for dinner. (B, L)
Day 5: Sun, Oct 9 – KYOTO – KANAZAWA – SHIRAKAWAGO – TAKAYAMA. After breakfast, take
a JR Limited Express train to Kanazawa located on the shores of the Sea of Japan. Enjoy lunch in
Kanazawa before we head out to Shirakawago. Ogimachi is the largest village and main attraction
of Shirakawa-go. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1995, the village is home to several
dozen well preserved gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old. The
Shiroyama Viewpoint is north of the village center and offers nice views of Ogimachi and its
farmhouses. Myozenji Temple, which is unique for its thatched roof rather than the typical tiled
roof seen on most temples, is connected to the Myozenji-ke farmhouse next door where the priest of
the temple lives. Then, we continue on to Takayama, where a festival that dates to the 15th century
will be heating up. Located amongst the Japan Alps it is known as “Little Kyoto” for its preserved
historical structures. It was cut off from the rest of Japan for most of its history and thus has maintained
a very unique and traditional atmosphere. This festival is held on the 9th and 10th of October to give
thanks for good harvest. The highlight of the festival is in the evening when colorful dashi (floats)
are led through the streets amid cheers and drums. These ornate floats are decorated with intricate
wood carvings and beautiful metal work that look even more amazing against the backdrop of fiery
reds and oranges of vibrant autumn leaves. HOTEL ASSOCIA TAKAYAMA RESORT (2 Nights) (B, L, D)
Day 6: Mon, Oct 10 – TAKAYAMA. After breakfast we will continue sightseeing in Takayama, which
includes the Morning Market, Takayama Jinya and Old Town. You can browse the market
stalls for local crafts and fresh farm products. Takayama’s Old Town has been beautifully preserved,
with many buildings and whole streets of houses dating from the Edo Period (1600–1868). On some
streets, like Sannomachi Street, you can find many old homes, shops, coffee houses and sake
breweries, some of which have been in business for centuries. Later, watch the floats as they parade
through Old Town. This evening relax with a restful soak in the onsen (hot springs). Enjoy the
seasonal bounty of your specially prepared, Multi-Course Kaiseki dinner. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Tue, Oct 11 – TAKAYAMA – HAKONE. We now make way to Mt. Fuji – we will ascend
to the 5th station at an elevation of 7,500 feet above sea level. Continue to Hakone. Again, enjoy
a relaxing soak in an onsen (hot spring) before this evening’s Gourmet Kaiseki dinner. HAKONE
PALACE HOTEL (1 Night) (B, D)
Day 8: Wed, Oct 12 – HAKONE – TOKYO. Today we begin with a 20 minute ropeway from
Togendai to Owakudani. Much of the area here is considered an active volcanic zone since its
creation from the eruption of Mount Hakone some 3,000 years ago. Enjoy a pirate boat ride on
beautiful Lake Ashi. Next enjoy a Yosegi-Zaiku Craft Experience. Then, proceed to Tokyo. This
evening, explore on your own. There are many shops and restaurants nearby your hotel. KEIO PLAZA
HOTEL TOKYO (2 Nights) (B)
Day 9: Thur, Oct 13 – TOKYO. Full Day at Leisure. Your Hawaii-based tour manager may arrange
an “optional” day trip. (B)
Day 10: Fri, Oct 14 – TOKYO – HONOLULU. Aftera sumptuous buffet breakfast embark on a full
day of discovery! Asakusa is the center of Tokyo’s shitamachi (literally “low city”), one of Tokyo’s
districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa’s main attraction is
Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the
Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional local
snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries. Ameyoko is a busy market street along the Yamanote Line
tracks between Okachimachi and Ueno Stations. The name “Ameyoko” is a short form for “Ameya
Yokocho” (candy store alley), as candies were traditionally sold there. Today, various products
such as clothes, bags, cosmetics, fresh fish, dried food and spices are sold along Ameyoko. Today’s
highlight will be a hands-on, Sushi-Making Class, which will yield your delicious lunch. After visits
to Meiji Shrine and the visually stimulating Harajuku shopping district, enjoy your Farewell Dinner
at an Izakaya restaurant. Depart Narita, Tokyo via HAWAIIAN AIRLINES FLT #458 at 11:55 pm. Arrive
Honolulu, same day at 12:25 pm. Aloha and Welcome Home! (B, L, D)

the early days. During the peak production in 1938/1939, Kitami’s peppermint accounted for
approximately 70% of the global market and became globally recognized as a special produce

set of larger locks. The canal is a gateway that takes you from the sun-kissed white sands of the Bahamas to the lively
resorts of the Pacific Riviera. Along the way, you’ll be enchanted by the colonial charms of Colombia, the rainforests of

Tour Manager: Geri Ichimura • Travel from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Valparaiso, Chile
Escorted from Honolulu
Visit: Argentina • Uruguay • Falkland Islands • Chile
Festive Adventures — It’s the season of celebration, and you can enjoy it in true South American style. Begin in
Buenos Aires with a fiesta hosted by local gauchos. You will be greatly impressed by their skilled horsemanship,
unparalleled talent and traditional music. Meet more “locals” in Port Stanley at the Bluff Cove Lagoon, home to gentoo
and Magellanic penguins as well as geese, dolphins, sea lions and other wildlife. To find unique handcrafted gifts, shop
at the market in Coyhaique near Puerto Chacabuco. For scenic South American landscapes, it will be difficult to decide
which is more amazing: the views from the Train to the End of the World as it chugs through Tierra del Fuego National
Park or the vistas from Marina’s decks as she sails amidst the magnificent Chilean Fjords.
* Fares are per person, USD based on double occupancy. Free airfare promotion does not include ground transfers ($198 roundtrip) and applies to economy roundtrip flights subject to cruise line
discretion. For specific dates/flights, a $175 per person air deviation fee plus any fare difference is applicable. After initial deposit, a $75 per person Non-Stop Travel (NST) Cancellation Fee will

10 Nights / 13 Days • July 11 – 23, 2016 • Aboard Marina® • Tour Manager: Chef Paul H. Onishi
Travel from Copenhagen, Denmark to Stockholm, Sweden • Escorted from Honolulu
Visit: Denmark • Germany • Lithuania • Latvia • Finland • Russia • Estonia • Sweden
Jewels of the Baltic Sea — From the stately palaces of Stockholm to the peaceful Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen,
this voyage is an opportunity to behold Europe’s immense beauty and historic wealth and create a treasure trove of
memories to last a lifetime. Ornately gilded rooms, original sparkling chandeliers and a magnificent white marble
staircase are a few highlights of the opulent Catherine Palace near St. Petersburg. The thickly wooded Latvian countryside beautifully cradles the 13th century Turaida Castle and its fortification tower near Riga. Once a summer residence
for members of the Russian imperial family, the Haikko Manor near Helsinki is now an elegant spa and hotel in a
picturesque park near the sea.
2016 LANDMARKS & LIGHTHOUSES
14 Nights/16 Days • October 21 – November 5, 2016
Tour Manager: Lisa Ann Kahalewai • Travel from Montreal, Quebec
to Miami, Florida • Aboard Regatta® • Escorted from Honolulu
Visit: Quebec • Nova Scotia • Maine • Massachusetts • New York
Virginia • South Carolina • Florida
The Arc of History Leads South — From Montreal’s 17th century Place d’Armes to the art deco boutiques and sidewalk cafés of Miami’s world-famous South Beach, this remarkable journey spans the ages, and from Halifax to
Charleston, charming lighthouses illuminate the stunning coastline and the arc of history. Outside Quebec City,
traverse a suspension bridge over Canyon Sainte-Anne, a steep gorge carved out of a 900-million-year-old rock
formation by the relentless force of water. In Port Canaveral, your gaze is drawn heavenward at one of the three
surviving original space shuttles and a complete Saturn V rocket at the Kennedy Space Center. Be sure to take in a
Broadway musical during an overnight stay in New York, and dine in a colonial Williamsburg pub during another
overnight stay in Norfolk.
2016 RIVIERA ROMANCE
12 Nights / 15 Days • Travel from Venice, Italy to Barcelona, Spain • November 07 – 21, 2016
Aboard Riviera® • Escorted from Honolulu • Tour Manager: Marie Kanealii-Ortiz
Visit: Italy • Croatia • Montenegro • Monaco • France • Spain
Lovely Vistas — Beauty, romance, intrigue and history – they’re all yours to experience. A short trip from Venice takes
you to Verona, where star-crossed lovers began their tragic tale. Casa di Giulietta, the home believed to have belonged
to Juliet Capulet, features a courtyard, a balcony and a statue of Shakespeare’s heroine. For a more daring adventure,
take a four-wheel-drive vehicle into the Velebit mountain range and through some of the most inspiring terrain in
Croatia. You’ll also be inspired by two of the most stunning cathedrals in Sicily – Palermo and Monreale. Handsomely
adorned with impressive mosaics, both were influenced by the variety of cultures that left their marks there.
