From relaxing pursuits and enriching activities to
world- class entertainment and gourmet cuisine, when you
step aboard, you are setting a course for a world of wonderful
new discoveries!
Even today, Alaska hasn’t been
completely explored. Natural
forces are still shaping the land
and it defies summation. The
most memorable parts of a visit
here are unpredictable and
unexpected: a breaching
humpback whale, a glacier
releasing huge ice chunks, a
grizzly feasting on salmon, or a
moose and calf darting in front
of our coach. Come with us to
this immense land and see its
riches. From beautiful alpine
meadows to secluded bays and
rugged mountain ranges
stretching as far as the horizon ...

CRUISE HIGHLIGHTS
SKAGWAY
Skagway was the gateway to the gold fields
for the thousands who flocked to Alaska and
the Yukon with the hope of striking it rich.
Over 100 years ago, the White Pass route
through the Coast Mountains and the shorter
but steeper Chilkoot Trail were used by
countless stampeders. Skagway has less than
1,000 residents. It still retains the flavor of the gold
rush era.
KETCHIKAN
Ketchikan is known as Alaska's "First City"
because it's the first major community travelers
come to as they journey north. In the early
1900s, when gold was Alaska's claim to fame,
fishing and timber industries were established in
Ketchikan. The growth of these industries
helped make this Inside Passage port
Alaska's fourth-largest city.

JUNEAU
In 1880 with the discovery of GOLD came
three of the largest gold mines in the world. By the
end of World War II, more than $150 million in gold
had been mined. Some 30,000 people live in Juneau.
Its total area makes it one of the biggest towns, in
size, in the world.
Today Juneau is famous not only for gold but also for
its breathtakingly beautiful glaciers and stunning
views of both water and Mountains.

ALASKA LAND
Day 1. Fairbanks Arrival Upon arrival into Fairbanks, Alaska you will be met by
representatives from John Hall’s Alaska who will assist you with claiming your luggage
before transferring you to the Bear Lodge, your home for the next two evenings. After
a welcome dinner and introduction by your Alaskan host, guests will have the
opportunity to visit a local retailer for the chance to stock up on snacks or supplies that
may have been left behind. You may also choose to visit the amazing collection of
antique cars and period clothing at the Fountainhead Auto Museum before bed this
evening at the Bear Lodge. D
Day 2. Fairbanks Touring
Your day will begin after breakfast with a trip down Discovery Lane to the riverboat
landing for the famed MV Discovery III. The next three hours will be spent cruising
the waters of the Chena River while enjoying stories of local legends like Felix Pedro
and E.T. Barnett and more recently, Susan Butcher. The tour will also highlight a
floatplane demonstration and a visit to a recreated Athabascan Village. After lunch at
the Miner’s Landing, were off on a trip that will take you to historic Gold Dredge No. 8
in Fox Alaska. Upon completion of your guided tour through the dredge, you will have
the opportunity to work a pan in the sluice and catch the same gold fever that brought
thousands of people to Fox in the early 1900’s. This evening you enjoy a very
exclusive dinner and behind the scenes tour of the Trail Breaker Kennels, home of
the late dog mushing champion, Susan Butcher. Bear Lodge B,L,D
Day 3. Fairbanks to Denali National Park
After a relaxing breakfast, we will set course for Denali National Park, but before
saying farewell to the Golden Heart City we have two more exciting stops to make. No
trip to Fairbanks would be complete without making time to visit the neighboring
community of North Pole and Santa Claus House. Our city tour of Fairbanks will
conclude with a visit to the popular Morris Thompson Cultural Center. In route to
Denali we will visit the community of Nenana where President Harding drove the
golden spike into the Mears Memorial Bridge in 1923. The afternoon will allow for
some free time in Denali and the opportunity to explore the Visitor’s Center and Murie
Science & Learning Center before the knee slapping comedy of the Cabin Nite Dinner
Show. Denali Bluff Resort B,D
Day 4. Denali National Park & Talkeetna
Early breakfast and early tour this morning! You will embark on a seven to eight hour
tour that will lead you through multiple ecosystems of Denali National Park. The 52
mile Tundra Wilderness Tour allows for visitors to go beyond the Taiga and experience
extended time in the Sub-Arctic. The added time means more animal sightings like
bear, moose, caribou, Dall sheep and the occasional sighting of a wolf. If the “Great
One” Denali, does not present herself this morning, no need to fret as you will enjoy
the opportunity to view North America’s highest point all afternoon and evening while
in the charming community of Talkeetna. Your accommodations this evening will be
the spectacular Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge and our guests will have the opportunity to
choose between dinner at the hotel or downtown at one of the local favorites like the
Denali Brewing Company or Talkeetna Roadhouse. Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge
B,L,D
Day 5. Talkeetna to Anchorage
After a leisurely morning at the lodge we will embark on a journey through the
Matanuska & Susitna Valleys. Stops this morning will include the headquarters for the
“Last Great Race” the Iditarod and a stop at Fred Myers where you can grab a quick
lunch This afternoon we will arrive Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage where you will
have time downtown to stroll the many shops, museums and restaurants. After
completing our city tour we will arrive at the shores of Lake Hood, the busiest seaplane
base in the world and home to our accommodations for the night, the Lakefront
Anchorage Resort. B
Day 6. Anchorage to Whittier
Early this morning you will depart your hotel and head for the Anchorage depot of the
Alaska Railroad. Once loaded you will depart on a beautiful train ride along Turnagain
Arm. With Cook Inlet on your right and views of the Chugach Mountains and hanging
glaciers on your left, you will enjoy the most scenic stretch of rail offered by the
Alaska Railroad. Your Tour Manager will travel ahead with your luxury motorcoach
and drop bags at the ship prior to meeting you at the depot in Whittier. It is here that
you will say farewell to Alaska’s interior and board your cruise ship for a seven day
sailing through Alaska’s Inside Passage. B, L,D
