The Kentucky Derby is a Grade I stakes race for three-year-old Thoroughbreds,
held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, on the first Saturday in May, capping the

Churchill Downs. The race is known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes In
Sports" and is also called "The Run for the Roses" for the blanket of roses

Fly Fishing Trip to Walden, Colorado
1. 3 or 4 day trip for 2 guests
2. I suggest early June or September.
3. Walden area has 3 lakes called Delaney Buttes run by the Fish and game. In
addition, several other lakes are within 30 minutes. They are all full of browns,
cuts, rainbows. Each fishes differently. I have caught 22-26 inch cuts late in the
evening twitching a Zonker on a dry line. I generally fish these lakes from 811am and then again from about 530PM until as late as 10PM. The larger trout
feed about dust or after dark. Dry or wet lines are used depending on time of
day and if the fish are rising. In the late evening you always have a rise. I go to
the north end of the south lake and just wait to see the trout start coming into
the shallow water.
4. We will be staying in my 5th Wheel. It is 34 feet long and fully equipped with
everything one would need. We will park lakeside. Has bath and a half to
include shower. Two bedrooms and sleeps 6 with comfort not to mention
TV's/stereo/microwave/ac/surround sound to name a few items. All
linens/blankets et al provided so no need for bringing such.
5. All folks will need to bring are clothes and waders. I have fins, float tubes, flies
and also rods (if needed) but the reels are all left handed. It is probably best to
bring 2 rods. One with dry line and another with wet or sinking line.
6. In addition, in the area is the North Platte river that is just around the corner
from the lakes. Also about 10 other lakes to fish that are very good. One has
cuts that look like footballs. It is called Seymour. I fish this area a great deal.
7. If the folks that come are not that good at fly fishing, I can put them in 1 of 3
lakes that are full of 12-16" rainbows and cuts. You can catch trout in these
lakes with a bare hook.
8. I will provide all food and beverages. I will ask folks what they desire when they
call.
9. We will probably fish different areas and lakes that I know about in this area
that I am sure those coming will enjoy.
10. I plan to pick folks up at the Denver airport and then come to my home and
change vehicles and take off. An early or mid-morning arrival is a good thing
for planning.
