WELCOME
Warm Caymankind greetings!
It is my pleasure to join the local Rotaractors in welcoming you to the
Cayman Islands for the Rotaract District 7020 Conference. The days
ahead are filled with learning, development, and growth through
training and conversation, as well as fellowship experiences that are
sure to bring this amazing District even closer together.
Marzeta Bodden
District Rotaract Representative
Rotaract Blue Cayman Islands
This annual conference is an opportunity for sharing ideas and
perspectives as well as the culmination of another year of individual
and collective gifts to the world. The generous giving of our time, talent,
and treasure has resulted in significant service-driven success within
our clubs, communities, countries, region, and the world. Each year,
it is truly remarkable to see what we accomplish, and this past year
is another unforgettable one with so much awesomeness unleashed!
I am deeply grateful for the many ways we have been supported by
the Rotary District, its leadership, Rotary clubs, and local community
partners over the past year. I look forward to reflecting on our
achievements and celebrating the past year with you all.
As we approach the beginning of another service year, I hope that
we all take full advantage of the opportunity to be at this Conference
and use the information, insights, ideas, and inspiration to reenergise
ourselves and mindfully consider how we show up every day. This
entire organisation is strong, successful, and significant because the
desire to make a positive difference burns deeply inside each and
every one of us.
I hope that after this week together, you will return home ready to
serve with love, serve with honour, serve with pride, serve from the
heart, and serve with the best of you that comes from deep within.
Yours in service.
WELCOME
Dear Rotaract Family,
I am delighted for the opportunity to wish you a hearty welcome to the 2016
District 7020 Rotaract Conference in Grand Cayman. I expect that all will
enjoy the kind hospitality that The Cayman Islands are known for. Soak up
all that you can from the training sessions. Enjoy the fellowship of new and
old friends in our District 7020 family. My wish is that, at the end of it all, you
take back not only warm memories of fun and fellowship but that you also
leave inspired to do more good in the world.
At the beginning of 2015-2016 Rotary year, I challenged you to transform
your clubs and communities from ‘Success to Significance’ and to Be
a Gift to The World. Our District is thankful to you for the service that
you continued to render this past year under the leadership of District
Rotaract Representative Marzeta and her team. I am confident of a bright
future of Rotaract in District 7020. Our District has observed with pride
your tremendous accomplishments not only on the local level, but in the
wider Rotary World. You have demonstrated commitment to personal and
community development. You undertook causes and advocated community
issues with remarkable diligence and creativity. You are role models to your
peers. I have watched your clubs grow and I encourage you to continue
to add committed, dedicated, like-minded persons to your numbers. With
more members, you can achieve even better results and impact more lives.
My hope is that for those of you who are ready to exit Rotaract, you will
make one of our Rotary clubs your new home. Starting next Rotary year,
you will also have the option to exercise dual membership - as a Rotaractor
and a Rotarian - to help with the transition. I look forward to calling you ‘my
fellow Rotarian’! Know that the world needs more Rotarians more than ever
in order to provide service to our communities who need more community
leaders more than ever.
I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can during your conference
and to hearing from you. As young professionals, it is important that you
develop your personal skills but I would encourage you to continue to use
them for the betterment of the community. This will not only bring you
personal Success, but also a life of Significance.
Rotaractors, I wish you a wonderful Conference. Carla and I thank you for all
that you do to create lasting legacies in your community. We applaud you for
your commitment to Service above Self. Continue to use your time, talents
and treasures to Be A Gift to the World. Never stop challenging yourself to
move from Success to Significance.

WELCOME
Fellow Rotaractors,
Yes, I broke “protocol” and said ‘Fellow’ – as I know that we are all in this together – as partners in service. I am Rotaract
– and you are Rotary. And WE are changing the world.
I am happy to celebrate with you another year of doing good in the world. These four of days training and development,
fellowship, and service are ones that you will truly cherish and remember for years to come. Soak it all in.
I congratulate DRR Marzeta Bodden, her team, and the members of the Rotaract District 7020 for a great year, and I
wish DRRE Paul G. Thompson and his #AllStars team all the best. I’ve known Marzeta and Paul for some time now and
their passion to serve is noticeable and inspirational. One can’t help but give of themselves – to them; to Rotaract; to
Rotary; and to the community.
It is an exciting time for our organisation, and an exciting time for our diverse District. This coming year is possibly going
to be the one with the most changes in our 111 years. As an international organisation, our policies and procedures
have been looked at and enactments made to change with the times, and to be current, and valid.
But change isn’t something that just happens – it begins with me, with you, with us all – we need to embrace change,
and you – my Fellow Rotaractors – change begins with you. So I enjoin you to BE THE CHANGE as we take ROTARY and
ROTARACT into greater relevance, better value, and an even more amazing experience.
As an organisation, we cannot solve all of humanity’s problems. But that is not our goal. Our goal is simply to make the
world a better place – To Serve HUMANITY.
And that is the International theme for 2016-2017 – Rotary Serving Humanity.
President-Elect of Rotary International John Germ, from Tennessee, USA is a great Rotarian and a wonderful human
being. His theme brings us back to the very core of who we are what we do – We Serve Humanity.
His leadership in 16-17 will be a powerful and inspirational one. His message and plans revolve around change and
flexibility – and as the year unfolds expect some new thinking, new ideas, and new ways of doing things. As the General
Secretary John Hewko said “Everything is on the table regarding change”.
2016-2017 is also going to be very special – It is when we celebrate 100 Years of DOING GOOD IN THE WORLD – 100
Years of our Rotary Foundation – the vehicle we use to create lasting, impactful differences in communities across the
globe. From the eradication effort of Polio to bringing clean water to communities.
We must stand proud and celebrate what together we all have accomplished – and what you, the Rotaract #AllStars
class of 2016-2017, will build on into the next century of service.
I wish you all the best as we set sail for an incredible year ahead.
Haresh Ramchandani
Rotary District 7020 Governor Elect

WELCOME
Hello ... it's me! I can hardly believe you're all here with me ...
The conference team started planning this event at its first meeting on
22 October 2014 and we’ve been counting down the days to welcome
you.
We’ve created what we hope will be an unforgettable experience.
Those of you who have attended a conference before, we’re shaking
things up. Those of you who haven’t, you’re in for a real treat. The next
few days are filled with a hearty balance of training, service, fellowship,
and engagement that’s sure to leave you inspired … and probably also
very tired!
I encourage you to participate in all the activities we have planned for
you and do so with old and new friends. Speaking of old, if this happens
to be your last Rotaract conference (because you're transitioning), go
hard and then go home!
The Rotaract conference is an experience that every Rotaractor must
have and it has been a pleasure organising this event for you.
If you have any questions at all during this week, please submit via the
Google Form forms.google.com/justkidding.
Ready? Let’s go!

WELCOME
WELCOME TO CAYMAN! BIENVENUE A CAYMAN!!
What a remarkable time it is for us to come together to learn,
to network and to celebrate good times and hard work. What a
remarkable time it is for us to reflect on our successes that have
now become significant through our service from within.
As this Rotaract year draws nigh, let us not forget say thank you,
to our supporting Rotary, Interact and Earlyact Clubs, to our
community partners and most importantly to our members. It is
through our members, that our clubs were able to undertake the
challenge of being gifts to the world. It is through our members’
undertaking of our district project, that we were able to illuminate
our inner lifesavers, identify lifesavers and even motivate others to
become lifesavers.
As a new Rotaract year catapults on the horizon, we must embrace
vision, vision that will change the world, vision that will help us to
effectively serve humanity and vision that will strengthen our brand
and impact our communities. Therefore, as we refresh our energies
to serve in the new Rotaract year, I challenge you all to embrace and
expand vision.
I also urge you to take advantage of this conference to network,
share ideas and most importantly, make a memory, as we have all
been waiting…. anticipating…
Conference 2016!!

FAQS
In case of emergencies, where are the hospitals?
The government of the Cayman Islands' Health Services Complex is a modern facility, with highly trained professionals
located in George Town, Grand Cayman. It boasts A 24 hour hyperbaric decompression chamber is available for
divers and an air ambulance service for other emergencies. The telephone number is (345) 949-8600.
There is also a private hospital - Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial - in George Town, as well as a number of other private
facilities that offer a variety of professional medical services.
Emergency telephone numbers:
- Police, Fire, Hospital dial 911
- Emergency information hotline 345-946-3333
- Hurricane Emergency Operations 345-949-6555
Why is Cayman’s diving so good?
There are many reasons! First of all we aren't mountainous and don't have rivers, so we don't have run-off into the
oceans, inhibiting reef development. Second, all three Cayman Islands are actually submerged mountains tops so
we have incredible walls all around the islands, reaching in some areas 20,000 feet or more in depth! Third, we have
always been very conscious of our precious resource and guarded it by establishing Marine Parks, limiting fishing,
virtually spear fishing, outlawing anchoring, educating divers and self-policing the behaviour of our dive operations.
What’s the average lunch or dinner cost in the Cayman Islands?
On average you can expect to pay between US$16.00-US$32.00.
