The majestic bluff which overlooks the East River of New York City is home to the opulent community
of Brooklyn Heights and its famous riverfront walkway, offering magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline.
Stroll the promenade, enjoy the view and take in the beautiful neighborhood of brownstones and picturesque
mansions which comprise the largest and very first American Historic District – New York’s Brooklyn Heights.
CLASSIC FAUX
This slightly textured wall paper has the warm look generally acquired
through passing time and wear. A net of broken irregular lines suggests
surface crackles while clouded, albeit softly glowing, coloration
simulates use and age. These characteristics, plus the seven available
palettes, make this pattern a perfect partner for Framed Damask or
Classic Stripe with Damask Trellis.
SCROLL STRIPE
This broad striped pattern alternates four inch crackled bands with four
inch ribbons of raised ornate design. That vertical pattern is outlined
in narrow pen strokes of intertwining lines and the antiqued field has
the slightest warm glow. The four selections include palest aqua with
taupe and cream or gold with taupe and foggy blue/grey, plus two
more. Potential partners are Classic Faux or Ornamental Outline in
coordinated colors.
ORNAMENTAL OUTLINE
Located across the East River from Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights
boasts blocks of picturesque brownstone row homes with charming
façades and hidden gardens. This large scale artist’s concept of
chrysanthemums with foliage would be quite appropriate in these preCivil War homes. The raised eighteen inch design rests upon a crackled
and distressed field with soft metallic glow. There are several versions:
metallic honey gold with brown, teal with beige and brown, and three
more. Mix and match with Ombre Diamond or Scroll Stripe.
CLASSIC STRIPE WITH DAMASK TRELLIS
Parallel lines, from pencil thin to half an inch, form multi-colored
clusters of stripes more than two inches wide, set four inches apart.
Raised scrollwork, large scale yet slender and delicate, adds a feathery
counterpoint to the crisp vertical bands. The addition of crackles and
haze suggests patina born of passing years. There are seven color
ways; among them is luminous gold with white, taupe, and metallic
silver or radiant gold with beige, taupe, and red plum. Partner with
Framed Damask and Royal Linen in related hues.
FRAMED DAMASK
With roots in ancient Damascus along the fabled Silk Road, this lush
design made its way to the affluent New York neighborhood of Brooklyn
Heights. Foot tall diamond shaped floral medallions are framed
with graceful raised foliage while metallic highlights add reflective
embellishment. The illusion of antiquity is furthered through the
appearance of crackling and haziness on this lovely wall paper. There
are seven palettes including rich peacock blue with gold and taupe
or silver with beige and cream. Coordinates are Classic Stripe with
Damask Trellis and Classic Faux in compatible colors.
RAISED CASCADE
Horizontal and vertical lines join with subtle color variations to mimic a
finely woven fabric. This wallpaper has minimal texture and serves well
as a partner to a more elaborate pattern. In two colors, either pale pink
with ivory or beige with gold, that can partner with Framed Damask.
ROYAL LINEN
The combination of a softly gleaming background with horizontal
streaks of contrasting matte inks, plus the distinctive pattern of woven
threads, adds depth of color and appearance of texture to this linen
look-alike. Handsome used alone, the selections include bright gold
with chocolate brown or pearlescent pink with yellow/beige plus two
more. You may use choose to use them with Acanthus Leaf Trail or
Framed Damask.
STENCIL BOUQUET STRIPE
How charming are these raised floor-to-ceiling garlands dusted with
glitter and stenciled on an antiqued background. The four inch wide
bands of stylistic flowers and leaves stream vertically at four inch
intervals on this textured wall paper. Five selections are available, such
as the dark smoke blue with cream, charcoal grey and gold glimmer
or aqua with rich beige, white, and silver sparkle. Pair with Framed
Bouquet Damask and Classic Faux in similar shades.
WOVEN TEXTURE
The luxe look of fabric covered walls is easily attainable through the
installation of this slightly textured wall paper. It looks like very fine
woven cloth, such as silk shantung or dupioni, with considerable
horizontal slubs that add to the realism of the design. There are two
selections: soft gold with golden tan or grey-speckled cream with pale
aqua. Each works well with Framed Damask and Classic Stripe with
Damask Trellis in appropriate colors.
FRAMED BOUQUET DAMASK
Brooklyn Heights boasts a great range of architectural styles; Greek
Revival, Italianate, Victorian Gothic and more. This exquisite neo classic
wall paper would be an appropriately elegant addition to any of these
lovely homes, whether the décor is traditional or contemporary. Urns
filled with fan shaped bouquets are framed with strings of beads and
garlands of acanthus. The luminous field is striated and clouded with
gently contrasting color. The primary pattern is dusted with shimmering
highlights. Palettes include variegated Wedgwood blue with cream and
taupe or pearlescent cream with gold and white and two more…all of
which are ravishing with Stencil Bouquet Stripe and Classic Faux.
ANTIQUED MARBLE
The shading and inclusions that give marble its visual texture are
captured here in the medium of ink on paper. Like the stone from
which Greek statuary is chiseled, the colors are rich cream, pale taupe,
and light grey. Use this wall paper solo or mix and match with Open
Frame or Stripe Damask.
OMBRE DIAMOND
Small in scale, this delightful diamond pattern is composed of scrolling
frames encasing dainty filigree against a striated field with a slight
sheen. The four inch pattern is inked in three colors and there are four
variations. Choose from palest gold with white and taupe or beige with
lilac and grey, among others. Pair with Ornamental Outline or Classic
Faux in related hues.
STRIPE DAMASK
In the tradition of damask, this large scale pattern features medallions,
scrolling leaves, and stylized flowers. On most the artist added
interrupted vertical pin stripes and gentle shading as colors evolve one
into another; but there is one satin finish with radiant gold tones and
without the stripes. The results are tasteful and refined softly glowing
ombre damasks. Select from light grey with lilac and cream or light
gold, aqua, and cream and four more. Use with Ombre Diamond or
Classic Stripe with Damask Trellis to complete the look.
WEATHERED CRACKLE
Clouds of silvery grey wear a web of sporadic taupe lines that add the
look of textured crackle. There is an elusive aura of warmth; a pink or
lilac like dawn’s first glow. This wall paper is pretty enough to use alone
and lovely enough to use with Ombre Diamond and Stripe Damask in
silvery greys and pale purples.
TRADITIONAL DAMASK
Along with picturesque brownstone row homes, Brooklyn Heights
boasts a number of elegant mansions. Interior and exterior shots of the
neighborhood have frequently been used in film and TV projects. Can’t
you see this design in a period movie? The pattern is nearly three feet
tall and lavish with oversized medallions and acanthus fronds. The
rich pearlescent backdrop and appearance of brushstrokes adds to
the antique ambience of this refined traditional wall paper. Half dozen
palettes include shades of gold with cream or silver with grey/blue, taupe
and cream. Use with Shadows, the made-to-match color coordinate.
SHADOWS
Mesmerizing… the merging colors and textures of this wallpaper are
elegantly contrived through the use of burnished metallic colors that
gleam through matte brushstrokes. It reminds one of a painting of
paradise viewed from the earth. There are seven heavenly choices
such as shades of matte and metallic gold with purplish grey or sterling
silver with light grey and beige. Wed to Traditional Damask
in coordinating hues.
ACANTHUS LEAF TRAIL
Poetry in motion…artistry set to music. This swirling design is so
enchanting you can almost see it waltz across the wall. The large
trailing acanthus leaves seem to pirouette across the distressed lightly
crackled field. The colors melt and blend into one another creating
a mesmerizing display in five variations; pearl with pale grey/green,
pink, and warm beige or indigo blue with palest grey, purple and khaki,
among others. For a heavenly union, pair with Shadows or Classic Faux.
