READ MORE - York Wallcoverings
Wealthy entrepreneurs and captains of U.S. industry of the early 19th century imported international treasures while
employing the finest European craftsmen to create vast estates of epic scale and flamboyant luxury. These great
American homes, renowned for their exquisite architecture and fashionable styling still captivate and inspire interior
décor, from furnishings to wallcovering. Historically influenced, yet stylishly innovative; this is Artisan estates.
OMBRE DAMASK
The elegance of damask is suffused with light in this unrivaled
interpretation of the classic motif. Large scale medallions and scrolling
acanthus leaves are printed in metallic or pearlescent inks on a speckled
ground creating the reflective glow. Subtle variations add ombre shading
in six palettes including pale aqua with teal and gold. Companion papers
are Townsend Texture and Martina in appropriate colors.
SILK STRIPE
This wallpaper pattern utilizes a number of devices to achieve a
handsome textural appearance. Vertical stripes vary from nearly four
inches wide to the thinnest of pinstripes. The colors vary as well and
ribbons of metallic ink add a striking note. In addition, bands of shaded
color run horizontally beneath the stripes in a subtle counterpoint.
Among the seven selections is a copper, beige, tan, brown, and black
mix. Coordinates include Magnolia Vine or Rococco.
ROCOCCO
There is something in these flowing lines that suggests the
transformation from graceful bird to beautiful Odette in the ballet, Swan
Lake. The multi-colored feathery acanthus fronds convey depth and
movement. They are inked on a century old press that creates surface
designs that look and feel like hand painting. The field, some with
a slight radiance, has tiny flecks of raised color. Choose from three
palettes; predominately creamy pearl, black, or silver sheen. Silk Stripe
or Townsend Texture work well with this pattern.
DAMASK DOCUMENT
This lacy damask is printed on a century old surface press that creates
an unequaled quality of texture. The ornate floral medallions and scrolls
stand out on the speckled field. The combination of layered patterns
resembles a satin document fabric and exudes an artful grace. There
are four selections, one of which is a serene pale blue and cream with
grey. Appropriate partners are Magnolia Vine or Townsend Texture in
suitable colors.
VICTORIAN FLORAL
Cottage charm is captured in this floral display that would be equally
lovely in a traditional or Victorian setting. The solid background, some
with a satin glow, is crisscrossed with flowering branches leaving lots of
open space despite of the large design. The roses, passion flowers, and
more come in seven dreamy color ways, including cream with purplish
blues, green, brown and pink. Mix and match with Martina or Townsend
Texture.
TOWNSEND TEXTURE
Hints of color and whispers of sheen catch the light and delight the
eye. This understated wallpaper has both elements incorporated into
the lightly textured design. The simple pattern suggests a woven textile
and is available in eleven diverse color ways such cream with silver
and palest pink. Combine with Ombre Damask or Martina in matching
shades.
STRIA
The artful mixture of pinstripes on a softly glowing background is further
enhanced by the ombre shading of the field. This wallpaper proves
the adage that less is more. Simplicity of line, the nuance of light and
shadow, and a half dozen color selections make this a highly desirable
design. Palettes range from soft silver sheen with beige to dramatic
gold sheen with browns and deep purple. The intended partner is Stria
Damask or mix with Victorian Floral.
STRIA DAMASK
This design demonstrates grace in a big way; quite literally. The
oversized design is composed of wide lacy scrolls with medallions
of flowers, pomegranates and pineapples, stars and leaves, all on a
glowing background of slender vertical striae. For those who appreciate
the beauty of damask, this is the ultimate in six color ways like the
beige, cream, grey/green, and lavender combination. Partner with Stria
or Townsend Texture for a gorgeous pairing.
SOFT RAISED LINEN TEXTURE
With the look, feel, and color of woven flax, this understated wallpaper
is about as versatile as wallpaper can be. When the desire is for
simplicity to stand alone, or to be a companion to a more ornate or
colorful design, this fabric look-alike is the logical choice. In striving for
the realistic appearance of linen, the one color selection is an off white
with beige crosshatching to simulate threads. Mix and match with
Victorian Floral.
MARTINA
This is a winning pattern; so unique, so lovely, so mesmerizing. The
small format makes a big impression. The allover pattern features a
background of tiny random flecks. Atop the field are two sets of scrolling
lines; slender ribbons of color that curl like organic tendrils and quarter
inch bands of another hue that form a trellis pattern. The result is an
exotic design with North African overtones in seven palettes, including
silver pearl, beige and cream, which would work beautifully with
Victorian Floral or Magnolia Vine in traditional or cottage décor.
MAGNOLIA VINE
So meticulously crafted it looks like bespoke artwork, these magnificent
large-as-life magnolias are as gracious as the real thing. The textured
inks are formed with a century old surface press that creates a painterly
look and feel. The field has a subtle glow and is lightly flecked with color.
Among the six palettes is a handsome gold and copper combination
with white, brown, green, and red. Use along with Damask Document or
Townsend Texture.
