The 34th edition of the FIAC will be held from October 18th through 22nd in the Grand
Palais, the Louvre’s Cour Carrée and the jardin des Tuileries.
Continuing the strategy of change begun in 2004, FIAC 2007 is characterised by a consolidation of our
position, renewed strength and a desire to improve the quality of our offer in all areas of the fair.
- The commitment to our identity as a general-interest fair can be seen in the establishment of a balance
which is both historical— between modern, contemporary and emerging trends and design — and
geographical. Among the 179 exhibitors from 23 countries, we have created a balance between the
French context, with 76 French galleries (42%), and international scenes with 103 foreign galleries (58%).
- The reaffirmation of our commitments is also reflected through our long-term establishment in
exceptional venues, the Grand Palais, the Louvre’s Cour Carrée and the jardin des Tuileries; the
proposal of an itinerary that includes the city and which led more than 90% of the visitors in 2006 to visit
both sites, to stay longer (average visit one day or more for more than half of the visitors) and to return
several times (thanks to the ticketing system); and last but not least, our perpetual desire to federate the
vitality of the Parisian art scene, once again in full force this October 2007.
- Our research for quality improvements throughout the fair is reflected in our renewed content (41
new galleries in the 2007 selection, representing 23% of the total), improvements in the installations
(especially the tent in the Cour Carrée and the mezzanines in the Grand Palais) and in the exhibition
arrangements (new partitions painted on site, representing 22,000 sq. metres of paint) as well as in
services (catering) …
The 2007 edition: 5 strong points
1) In the Grand Palais: prestigious newcomers, special projects, major works
18 new exhibitors: Arndt&Partners (Berlin), Art Concept (Paris), Marianne Boesky (NY), Bortolami
(NY), Bo Bjeergaard (Copenhagen), Carlier/Gebauer (Berlin), Cheim&Read (NY), Paula Cooper (NY),
Christopher Cutts (Toronto), Thomas Dane (London), Cristina Guerra (Lisbon), Guillermo de Osma
(Madrid), Sean Kelly (NY), Simon Lee (London), Luhring Augustine (NY), The Project (NY), Van de
Weghe (NY) David Zwirner (NY)…
Some highlights at the Grand Palais: monographic exhibitions, such as Picabia’s erotica (1900-2000)
Segal (Hoss), Dubuffet (Jeanne Bucher), Matta (Claude Bernard), Josh Smith (Luhring Augustine and
Catherine Bastide); “face to face” encounters such as Joan Mitchell and Louise Bourgeois (Cheim&Read),
Warhol/Fontana/Moffet, (Boesky), Serra/Chillida (de Osma); and special projects such as Wim Delvoye
(Perrotin)...
Several noteworthy, exceptional works by: Picasso (Krugier), Soulages (Applicat-Prazan), Basquiat
(Van de Weghe), Magritte (Vedovi), Villeglé (Trigano), Parmentier (Fournier), Buren (Bortolami), Martin
Barré (Obadia)…
3
2) The installation of the design sector in the Grand Palais, opposite modern and contemporary art
galleries
By including this sector in the Grand Palais, (which FIAC was the first contemporary art fair to include
as early as 2004) we have been able not only to increase our selectivity but also to create an interaction
between design and modern and contemporary art. Following a scenography conceived by Combarel/
Marec in 2006, the 10 galleries in the design sector are placed under the 9-metre-high balconies which go
around the nave so that the vintage design galleries are full view of the modern art galleries, and those
showing contemporary design interact with the contemporary art galleries.
In addition to Jousse Entreprise, Downtown, Ulrich Fiedler, Jacques Dewindt, Eric Philippe, and Dansk
Moebelkunst, along with the Parisians Kreo and Patrick Seguin who were present last year, we welcome
two new arrivals: Yves Macaux from Brussels, with historic pieces by Otto Wagner, Koloman Moser and
Josef Hoffmann and Gilles Peyroulet (Paris) with chairs signed by Pesce, Crasse and Ruyant.
3) An increase in importance of the Cour Carrée, focused exclusively on cutting-edge creation and
a forward-looking approach.
FIAC’s presence within the heart of the world’s greatest museum, inside a semi-transparent structure
that interacts with the extraordinary beauty of the architecture of the site, was an incredible success
among both the general public and collectors in 2006. It gave impetus to the development of a true “Cour
Carrée spirit”, characterised not such much in generational terms but rather by a committed, avant-garde
attitude.
20 new exhibitors in 2007:
Annex 14 (Bern), Art Concept (Paris), Chemould Prescott Road (Mumbai), John Connelly Presents (NY),
FA Projects (London), Foxy Productions (NY), Hollybush Gardens (London), Iris Kadel (Karlsruhe),
KBK (Mexico), Johann König (Berlin), Francesca Minini (Milan), Gabrielle Maubrie (Paris), ProjecteSD
(Barcelona), Nils Staerk (Copenhagen), Shangart (Shanghai), T293 (Naples), The Breeder (Athens), Max
Wigram (London), Zero (Milan), Zinger (Amsterdam).
Some expected participants: Prachaya Phintongh (gb Agency), Johannes Wohnseifer (Johan König),
Claire Fontaine (T293), Vittorio Santoro (Cortex Athletico), Nicolas Grospierre (Raster), and “face to face”
encounters between Closky-Steinbach-Olinet (Laurent Godin) and Stéphane Calais-Guillaume Leblon
(Wolff).
4) An expanded cultural programme
Lists as of September 30th
Exterior projects in the jardin des Tuileries
After the public and commercial success of the itinerary offered for the first time in 2006, and one aspect
of the FIAC’s partnership with the Musée de Louvre, the 2nd edition will include 15 projects which have
been selected conjointly.
2007 Projects: works by Claude Lévèque (Mennour), Wilfrid Almendra (Cosmic), Lilian Bourgeat (Elbaz),
Subodh Gupta (In Situ), Julien Prévieux (Jousse), Richard Jackson (Vallois), Takis (Downtown), Stéphane
Calais (Wolff), Lawrence Weiner (Marian Goodman), Joanna Vasconcelos (Obadia), Wang Du (Baronian/
Godin), Barthelemy Toguo (Villepoix), Pascale Martine Thayou (Continua), Pedro Cabrita Reis (NelsonFreeman), Miquel Barcelo (Lambert), Peter Downsbrough (cent8), Kim Sooja (Kewenig), Pratchaya
Phintong (gb agency)*.
Within their partnership programme the FIAC and the Louvre are also organising a conversation with
the artist Lawrence Weiner, moderated by the art historian Gregor Stemmrich in the Auditorium of the
Louvre on 18 October at 18:30 pm.
4
«Collecting Movement», a new programme of conferences in partnership with the Jeu de Paume.
On October 18th 19th and 20th, from 18 pm to 20 pm, in a recently renovated room in the Jeu de Paume (at
Concorde), the FIAC and the Jeu de Paume are proposing a series of discussions /projections revolving
around the specific issues and problems related to film and video collections (for example, the relationship
between collection and production, questions concerning format, status, methods of conservation and
distribution…). During each session a private collector or a curator of a public collection will present a film
(or a choice of films) followed by a debate.
Invited speakers: Christine Van Assche (MNAM-Centre Pompidou, France) and Patrizia Sandretto Re
Rebaudengo (Turin) ; Marc and Josée Gensollen (Marseille).
YCI, Young Curators Invitational, in partnership with the corporate Foundation Ricard.
For the second year in a row, 10 young exhibition curators from the world over have been invited to
stay in Paris during the FIAC, giving them the possibility to visit exhibits, galleries and museums and
to meet important members of the French contemporary art scene (artists, curators and critics). The
invited curators were selected from recommendations by John Rajchmann (Columbia University, USA),
Claire Staebler (Pinchuk Art Center, Ukraine), Nicolas Bourriaud (Tate Gallery, UK), Marc Olivier Wahler
(Palais de Tokyo, Fr), Fei Dawei (Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Belgium/China), Enrico Lunghi
(IKT-Casino Luxembourg), Klaus Biesenbach (PS1, USA), Yves Aupetitallot (Le Magasin, Fr) and Ann
Demeester (De Appel, the Netherlands).
The Marcel Duchamp Prize
This is the third year that the FIAC welcomes an exhibition of works by the artists nominated for the Prix
Marcel Duchamp (organised by the ADIAF). In 2007 original projects by Adam Adach, Tatiana Trouvé,
Pierre Ardouvin, and Richard Fauguet will be shown in the Cour Carrée.
5) The energy of the artistic scene
The «week of FIAC» will once again be filled with exceptional intensity. During this period one can
discover:
- A rich exhibition programme: « Design contre Design » at the Grand Palais, Steichen at the Jeu de
Paume, « Picasso cubiste » at the Musée Picasso, « Diasporas » at Quai Branly, François Curlet at the
Plateau, « The Third Mind, carte blanche à Ugo Rondinone » at the Palais de Tokyo…
- Openings of important exhibitions (Giacometti at the Centre Pompidou, Mathieu Mercier at the Musée
d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris…) and openings of new sites such as the Laboratoire; new initiatives
such as the exhibition of Franz West’s large-scale works at Place Vendôme, or events that have become
imperative such as the 3rd «Antidote» show at Galeries Lafayette. There are also the presentation of public
collections (« Intrusions at the Petit Palais, works from the municipal contemporary art collection»), or
private ones (« At Perrault Architecture, the collection of Jean-Philippe et Françoise Billarant); alternative
art fairs, such as Slick et Show Off (with which FIAC once again maintains its complicity); previews in
an important number of Parisian galleries, not to mention various events (private visits, evening affairs,
dinners…) reserved for FIAC’s invited guests and key players in the world of art who are in Paris during
this period which has become a major occasion for the international world of art.

Artists nominated for the 7th prize:
Adam ADACH - PAINTER
Born in 1962 in Warsaw (Poland), lives and works in Paris and Warsaw
Galerie Jean Brolly, Paris
Reporter: Julia Garimoth, Curator at the Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris
Stand C08
Traditional painting is an art of deliberatiob... Adam Adach tackles this sleeping continent because he
knows that painting has not yand said its final word. Born in Poland, since the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989
the artist has lived in France and today shares his life bandween Paris and Warsaw. The themes of the
paintings of this figurative artist take root in his childhood memories under the Soviand regime or in the
narration of human relationships and daily situations far from any theatricality.
37
Pierre ARDOUVIN - INSTALLATIONS
Born in 1955 in Crest (France), lives and works in Paris
Galerie Chez Valentin, Paris
Reporter: Caroline Bourgeois, Artistic Director of the Plateau - FRAC Ile-de-France
Stand C12
With an astonishing economy of means, via installations, photography and drawings, Pierre Ardouvin
draws an uncertain and ambivalent ambience torn bandween the idea of a stereotyped happiness and a
muted violence. Through perverted and idyllic visions, incongruous festive elements and inhabitable or
deserted interiors, nature and culture interfere with each other forming a lame world where harmony and
chaos seem to be in confrontatiob.
Richard FAUGUAND - INSTALLATIONS
Born in 1963 in La Châtre (France), lives and works in Châteauroux
Galerie Art:Concept, Paris
Reporter: Yannick Miloux, Art Historian, Director of the FRAC Limousin
Stand C07
Richard Fauguand enjoys turning around and shifting the sense of the industrial objects and images that
people our modern sociandy. This is how he evokes the way in which we look at our reality and uses the
endemic ideas of our mental and psychological landscape to this end. His work researches the work of art
through the banal, taking its source from exclusivism and elitism in order to make it playful and casual.
Ironically decorative, his works are constantly engaged in a dialogue with the history of art. A history
that he takes the liberty of mixing with these elements, thereby creating distanced links and ramifications
while giving life to an harmonious environment.
Tatiana TROUVÉ -INSTALLATIONS
Born in 1968 in Cosenza (Italy), lives and works in Paris
Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Miami; Almine Rech Gallery, Bruxelles
Reporter: Elie During, Philosopher, Professor at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and at the Ecole
d’art d’Annecy.
Stand C11
An Italian by birth with an African childhood, then Nice and its Villa Arson, since 1997 Tatiana Trouvé has
conceived an evolving overall work: the Bureau des Activités implicites (BAI). These are modules linked
to the development of the artistic process through the reconstruction of a workspace where the artist
has elaborated her work from the conflicting relationship that she has entertained with her own art, with
administrative bodies, time, waiting…
Since 2006, she has started a series of “Polders”, structured thoughts to “contaminate” a given space
within an exploration of memory and randentivity.

Ministry of Culture and Communication
(Commission for Visual Arts National Centre for Visual Arts)
The commission of the
National Centre for Visual Arts, which is responsible for the acquisition of
contemporary artworks for the French government, will meet during the 34th edition of the FIAC.
At this time the
National Centre for Visual Arts (Centre national des arts plastiques) will allocate a
substantial budget of 400,000 euros towards the purchase of works that will enrich the National Contemporary
Art Collection. This initiative strengthens the support given to the French art market by the Ministry of Culture
and Communication - Commission for Visual Arts.
The national advisory board for artistic creation (visual arts section), which is responsible for acquisitions, is composed
of five representatives from the Ministry of Culture and nine professionals from the world of art, including two artists,
all nominated for three years. They will get together at the beginning of the fair, after having visited all the venues. The
works they acquire will become part of the French government’s contemporary art collection, the largest international
collection in France of works by living artists.
In 2006, artworks by the following artists were acquired: Pierre Bismuth, Rebecca Bournigault, Michal Budny
and Zbigniew Rogalski, Marie-Josée Burki, Gianni Caravaggio, Stéphane Couturier, Mounir Fatmi, Hreinn
Fridfinnsson, Peter Friedl, Jochen Gerner, Candida Höfer, Ann Veronica Janssens, Peter Klare, Jan Kopp,
Emmanuel Lagarrigue, Laurent Montaron, Yves Oppenheim, Julius Popp, Werner Reiterer, Robin Rhode,
Georges Rousse, Vittorio Santoro, Gino Sarfati, Alain Séchas, Miri Segal, Bruno Serralongue, Peter Soriano,
Ida Tursic and Wilfried Mille, Didier Trenet and l’Atelier Van Lieshout.
These works, conserved by the
National Centre for Visual Arts, are exhibited to the public thanks to a vigorous
policy of loans and deposits. Each year over 500 works are entrusted to museums, government offices and embassies,
while approximately 2,500 works are loaned on a temporary basis for exhibitions in France or abroad.
Recent visual arts acquisitions have been shown in Grenoble, Nantes, Marseille, Rouen, Lyon and Amiens as well as
Geneva, Sao Paulo, Mexico and Miami. In the fall of 2007 they will be on exhibition at the Musée de Rochechouart.
Its design collections were presented in Taipei, Seoul and Saint-Etienne; a show in Paris in 2004 involved over 2,000
objects.
Important monographic or thematic photography series are regularly exhibited abroad in Biennales held in Moscow,
Bamako and China and in exhibitions in Seoul, Bangkok, Spain, Portugal and Poland.
The commission’s final selection will be announced during the fair and a special notice will indicate these
works to the public.

MINI Clubman: official car of FIAC 2007!
The new MINI Clubman will be presented at the Grand Palais in Paris on the occasion of the 34th Foire internationale
d’art contemporain (FIAC).
The MINI Clubman, a unique concept
Innovative design, tailoring pushed to the maximum, exceptional agility, the MINI Clubman defies the usual codes,
positioning itself with originality on the world automobile market. As dynamic as it is functional, it combines a bold
design with driving sensations so typical of the MINI make. Customise at will, the MINI Clubman seeks to be a
reflection of its driver. With a “Clubdoor” on the right-hand side, opening the opposite way to allow easy access for
backseat passengers, and a surprising double door at the back, the Clubman creates a stir!
A pioneer in its market, the MINI takes the lead by proposing a concept which goes beyond automobile standards,
conveying the expression of a modern and unique way of living.
The FIAC, a mythic art fair
With more than 200 galleries from over twenty countries, the international contemporary art fair is one of the major
events on the art scene and international art market. A reference in the art world, the FIAC shares the same values
of aestheticism, avant-gardism and non-conformism as the MINI Clubman.

The Louvre and Contemporary Art
The Cour Carrée of the Louvre provides an exceptional setting for contemporary art at its most modern – art which
is also highly representative of FIAC’s dynamism and open-mindedness.
The Louvre’s collaboration with the FIAC, which proved so fruitful in 2006, is a natural outcome of the policy decision
to embrace contemporary art initiated in 2003 by its chairman Henri Loyrette and implemented by Marie-Laure
Bernadac, head curator of contemporary art. Since then, the Louvre has invited major artists of today – Christian
Boltanski, Gary Hill, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Tunga, Huang Yong Ping, Sarkis, Anish Kapoor, Giuseppe Penone
and Luciano Fabro – to interact with its collections. Their works, audiovisual productions included, have been shown
either throughout the museum or in temporary exhibitions.
The perennial inclusion of a XXIth century work, juxtaposed with the palace’s interior décor and architecture, is
another striking example of the Louvre’s new contemporary art policy. For this, the museum has decided to call
upon the internationally recognized artists Anselm Kiefer, Cy Twombly and François Morellet. By the year 2010,
creations by these three major artists will have joined the Louvre’s permanent collections.
The first of these projects to see the light, a décor by Anselm Kiefer, will be shown in the staircase designed by the
XIXth century architects Percier and Fontaine, situated to the north of Perrault’s Colonnade. The commission called
for a work to be hung on the wall of the staircase. Anselm Kiefer has conceived of a monumental work illustrating the
themes of constellations and self-portrait. This ambitious project which will be unveiled to the public on 25 October
2007 is just one of many cultural events revolving around the theme of Frontiers that have been developed in close
collaboration with the artist. Throughout the month of October the museum offers a programme of conferences,
colloquiums, encounters with the artist, lectures, concerts, film projections in the Auditorium which will also include
an original Bill T. Jones’s solo choreography performed amid the permanent collections.
This year, the Louvre continues its programme of invitations to contemporary photographers (Patrick Faigenbaum
in 2004, Jean-Luc Moulène in 2005 and Candida Höefer in 2006) by inviting Christian Milovanoff. Throughout 2007
the artist worked in the museum’s Near Eastern Antiquities department, focusing particularly on pieces from ancient
Iran and Mesopotamia. This immersion enabled him to re-establish contact with his past research in art history and
to draw upon his varied interests in documents, appropriation and editing. By mixing different techniques and time
periods and exploring the relationships between photography and ancient sculptures, Christian Milovanoff attempts
to uncover a unique way of looking at works of classical art that is both educational and authentic.
Following the success of the Counterpoint exhibitions begun in 2004 — yet another project involving contemporary
art and living artists — the Louvre this time gives free rein to Jan Fabre. In the spring of 2008, the artist will
propose an artistic journey through the Louvre’s rooms of Flemish paintings that includes sculptures, drawings,
videos and installations inspired by visual and thematic aspects of the collection. Jan Fabre has also been invited to
the Auditorium of the Louvre to explain the multidisciplinary facets of his work as a dancer, choreographer, performer,
stage director and playwright.
Throughout the year, the Auditorium invites artists for critical debates, commented films and conferences so as to
further the contemporary re-examination of the place of the museum. This season, Lawrence Weiner, who has been
invited by the FIAC to show a newly created work in the Tuileries Gardens, will be discussing his work at a Face to
Face event. Also programmed is a symposium on the theme “Revisiting Design: Object, Site, Environment”, which will
involve the participation of young artists, curators and museum directors in a discussion on the role of the designer
in the museum.
Since September 2003, a contemporary artist has been asked to design the Louvre’s seasonal pass for young people
(18-to 26-year olds). After Florence Paradeis (2003), Patrick Faigenbaum ( 2004), Nathalie Talec (2005) and Olga
Kissseleva (2006), this year’s artist, Françoise Quardon, includes herself in a cropped version of Otto Marseus van
Schrieck’s painting, Serpents and Butterflies in a Wood.

Yves Saint Laurent has always signed unique creations, made of style, contrasts, emotion and passion, whose key
source of inspiration is artistic expression in all its facets.
Braque, Cocteau, Mondrian, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Warhol…the link with art and artists is a major pillar of the
Yves Saint Laurent identity.
An identity of which elle, the new perfume for woman, is the embodiment.
For its first partnership with the Fiac, Yves Saint Laurent chose to append its new heroine’s signature by inviting in
particular, at the Cour Carrée du Louvre, collectors, visitors and of course artists to create a virtual work of art on the
elle Yves Saint Laurent Second Life Island.
Portrait of elle…
Unpredictable and unique, elle is the essence of femininity.
An ardent seductress, elle lives her passions, - each and every one - to the full, with no compromises.
Dramatic and charismatic, elle is inspired by the city she illuminates with her presence.
Free to choose what suits her, full of contrasts, elle is the embodiment of an incomparable style, contemporary chic
with a touch of the bohemian.
Immersed in art, elle is a creator, a muse, or a mentor…
Her fragrance lets her be herself in all her facets.
Fragrance of elle…
An architectural and baroque bottle, with graphic lines and dazzling femininity. An iconic style that is elle’s signature.
It celebrates the prestigious, interlaced monogram, cuts from metal the color of gold, highlighted with vibrant,
luminous legendary fuchsia.
elle has fun with the design of her box, evoking a kinetic flash of neon lights, before signing her name.
Her fragrance. Her double. Body and soul. An ultra contemporary creation, fluid and unrestrained. An exceptional
and unexpected harmony of floral and woody essences, in perpetual motion.
The Second Life Island of elle …
A true virtual discovery of the elle Yves Saint Laurent’s universe, the island will propose a permanent exhibition of
works by artists creating on Second Life, and a temporary exhibition that will be open to the Fiac visitors through
the elle Yves Saint Laurent access points at the Cour Carrée du Louvre. This second exhibition will offer every one
to create around the fragrance universe. The island will also reserve to its visitors a privileged access to the Fiac, all
over its duration.

Antidote
The contemporary art scene at Galeries Lafayette
Running from 13 September to 3 November 2007 at the art gallery of the Galeries Lafayette, the third Antidote show
will feature the work of ten French artists: Pierre Ardouvin, Eric Baudart, Michel Blazy, Etienne Bossut, Didier
Marcel, Mathieu Mercier, Marlène Mocquet, Laurent Montaron, Sylvain Rousseau and Tatiana Trouvé. Since the
Antidote project was founded, the Galeries Lafayette Group, which has always defended such values as innovation and
daring, has been actively engaged in a process of supporting the contemporary arts, notably through its partnership
with the Foire internationale d’art contemporain (FIAC) in Paris.
The series of Antidote shows was started in 2005 by Guillaume Houzé, the great-great-grandson of Théophile Bader,
the founder of the Galeries Lafayette department store. In this undertaking, enjoyed the support of his grandmother,
Madame Ginette Moulin (the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Lafayette Group). As a collector, has been
especially interested in the French art scene. His exchanges with artists and a good number of other players in the
field quickly allowed him to view the act of collecting not only from a personal and private point of view, but also as
a form of financial support for artists and art professionals. The same realization comes up again and again: despite
its depth and variety, too often the French art scene is lacking in support. Eager to take an active role in the debate,
and in the spirit of sharing his passion with the broadest audience possible, Guillaume decided to mount Antidote, an
annual exhibition that would feature for several months in the Galeries Lafayette’s art gallery the work of ten or so
established or emerging French artists. For the third consecutive year, visitors to the Lafayette will be able to discover
different facets of the contemporary arts through a selection of recent works by some of the most promising artists of
their generation, in media as diverse as painting, installation, video and sculpture.
During the FIAC, the Galeries Lafayette Group will be exhibiting at the Louvre’s Cour Carrée a video projection
space by Pascal and Laurent Grasso belonging to the Fonds régional d’art contemporain Ile-de-France, coproduced
by Ginette Moulin et Guillaume Houzé, the Parc Culturel de Rentilly, the Musée Départemental d’Art Contemporain
de Rochechouart and the Centre Photographique d’Ile-de-France.
The Galeries Lafayette also presented this year in eight stores throughout France and at its Berlin location an event
called “L’Art, c’est renversant,” (“Art is astounding.”) From September 10 to October, 6, these department stores
displayed a selection of works from the collections of the Fonds régionaux d’art contemporain.

FONDATION D’ENTREPRISE RICARD
« YCI » PROGRAM PARTNER
In 2007, the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard will present a reshuffled gallery space designed by architects Jakob and
MacFarlane. The space was devised with a view to showcasing artists and confirms the permanent commitment of the
Fondation to young contemporary creation.
The Foundation organizes ten exhibitions or so every year and regularly gives young curators a carte blanche to
put on collective shows as actually for the exhibition « Derive »*, curated by Mathieu Mercier.
In the continuity of its regular invitations made to young curators, the Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard continues its
partnership with the FIAC through its support of the « Young Curator’s Invitation » (YCI) program which the
aim is to increase the visibility of young French creators abroad, consists in inviting ten young foreign art critics to
visit the fair, galleries, art centres, museums as well as to meet artists active on the French scene.
To note during the Fiac : Exhibition Dérive, Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard Prize and the Bal Jaune.
Artist Mathieu Mercier, the curator of the 9th edition of the Prix Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, designed the exhibit
Derive around the works of 11 artists of the young French scene: Wilfrid Almendra, Vincent Beaurin, Christophe
Berdaguer and Marie Péjus, Julien Bouillon, Stéphane Calais, Sammy Engramer, Marc Etienne, Daniel Firman,
Regine Kolle, Hugues Reip and Virginie Yassef.
The Fondation d’entreprise Ricard Prize will be awarded to one of the artists of Derive. French collectors will award
the prize during the FIAC. The prize consists of purchasing the artist who win a work of art which is then offered to
an exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou.
At least, the Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard and Beaux Arts magazine organise the ninth edition of the Bal Jaune, a
party that gather people from art, mode, music for a night.

Neuflize OBC, subsidiary of the ABN AMRO, Group, continues its partnership with the
FIAC (International Contemporary Art Fair) in 2007.
Confirming its positioning as a 300-year-old bank resolutely turned towards the future with an established reputation
for expertise in international financial markets, France’s leading private bank is proud to be associated once again with
this major event on the artistic calendar.
As the recent sponsor of the spectacular Monumenta art event inaugurated by Anselm Kiefer at the Grand Palais,
Neuflize OBC returns once more to the magnificent setting of this glass and steel vault to celebrate contemporary art.
In March, too, the bank was proud to work as a partner alongside Daniel and Florence Guerlain in the award of the
Prize of the same name – proof, if proof were needed, of the bank’s now pivotal role as a committed player in the sphere
of contemporary art. Alongside its work with the FIAC, Neuflize OBC will also provide support to the Artcurial
auction house for its new but already prestigious Prix Artcurial Award for Contemporary Art Books.
These initiatives complement the other efforts and support contributed by the Group’s various entities in France on
behalf of museums and institutions, all with the aim of promoting art and cinema.
The Neuflize OBC patronage policy sets out to combine the culture of the past with that of the future, to
associate the visual arts and the cinema, and to coordinate its actions with those of ABN AMRO and Neuflize
Vie.
Choices reflecting the values of a leading bank…
The actions carried out by Neuflize OBC are at one and the same time proof of a rigorous, long-term commitment
to quality projects and an open-minded and innovative encouragement of promising creative initiatives geared to
the future. The priorities enshrined in the bank’s patronage policy also illustrate the recent combination of two key
identities dating back several hundred years and focusing on private management services, with a special focus on
families with roots in the French industrial fabric and often with a reputation as art lovers, or on professionals from
the world of cinema and communication drawn from all parts of the country.
A policy forming part of a global strategy…
The Neuflize OBC patronage policy is part of a wider strategy, made possible by the bank’s membership of the ABN
AMRO group. Each year, ABN AMRO, one of Europe’s leading banking groups, selects the major cultural events
to which it wishes to contribute. The presence of Neuflize OBC in the Group strengthens its ability to operate in the
international arena and to pursue projects fully in line with ABN AMRO’s own global options in the visual arts field.
Local and world synergies…
Neuflize OBC also shares its engagements with the other ABN AMRO subsidiaries in France. The insurance company,
Neuflize Vie, has opted to focus on contemporary, photographic and videographic images through partnerships of
various kinds, for example its contribution designed to stimulate creation through the acquisition of works of art.
Organised at the initiative of a company foundation whose tenth anniversary is being celebrated by Neuflize Vie this
year, the Collection Neuflize Vie adds its contribution to a long tradition in the ABN AMRO Group, recognised for its
major collection in Amsterdam.
Some examples of actions in 2007:
“Rembrandt… Bouquet Final” at the Institut Néerlandais / January-March 2007; Le Prix de dessin de la Fondation

POMMERY involved in Art since 1836
Since its creation in 1836, Pommery has been an important player in the world of Art.
Pommery a patron of the arts from the start:
Thanks to Louise Pommery who invented “Corporate Sponsorship”, first in offering Millet’s “Gleaners” to the Musée
d’Orsay, and then the bas-reliefs of the sculptor Gustave Navlet carved out of the bare chalk in the magnificent cellars
of the Domaine Pommery in Rheims, or finally, when she commissioned from Emile Gallet one of the world’s largest
tuns for the Universal Exposition of 1904.
Pommery involved from the very first day, but also Pommery the producer, with the works of the artists gathered
around Daniel Buren for the “Experience Pommery #4” at the estate in Rheims, an exhibition which will have received
close to 100,000 visitors this year.
Pommery is not only a partner to the major museums such as the Centre Georges Pompidou, but also to major events
in the Art world today, like the FIAC. Pommery has forged genuine deep links with the fair, links we are happy to
pick up again after several years’ break, in order that Champagne, Art, Artists and Joy endlessly continue to come in
a variety of forms.

EFFICIO
A French company with offices in Paris and Brussels, Efficio’s main activity is to find alternative financial solutions
to generate additional cash flow from depreciated assets. A growing numbers of CEOs and financial directors are
showing their interest in this activity as a means of reinforcing their balance sheet structure.
As a financial services provider, we believe that art, in all its forms, reflects the image of our profession. We have
been a partner to various events such as the Biennale des Antiquaires and the Queen Elisabeth International Musical
Competition.
Given that we specialize in a relatively recent field and propose innovative solutions to our clients, EFFICIO
has decided that contemporary art, in all its diversity, best corresponds to our philosophy: to be unafraid to
create, innovate and explore new territories in order to offer original solutions. Thus being a partner of FIAC

Moleskine, the legendary notebook of great artists and thinkers, once again meets the guests of Fiac with a
special edition of the large memo pockets, the multi-pocketed folder containing everything necessary for the
Parcours privé and designed to hold all the memories of the visitor’s rich and personal experience of the event.
To Moleskine Fiac represents an ideal occasion for consolidating its bond with the world of contemporary art
and intensifying its dialogue with the numerous artists who use Moleskine notebooks every day in their creative
work. In particular, with the non-profit project Detour, Moleskine organises special notebook exhibitions
featuring artists, illustrators, writers, architects and designers - in London in October 2006, New York in June
2007, and in the near future in Berlin, Paris and San Francisco. The artists of Fiac are invited to send in their
notebooks and participate in a selection for the next Detour exhibitions. Many thanks to Fiac for this new
opportunity!
About Moleskine: the legendary little black notebook with rounded corners, an elastic closure and an expandable
inner pocket was a nameless object, produced for more than a century by a small French bookbinder who supplied
the Parisian stationery shops frequented by the international literary and artistic avant-garde. By the mid ’80s of
the twentieth century it was no longer available: according to what Bruce Chatwin tells, the original manufacturer
in Tours closed in 1986. In his famous book Songlines, the English writer-traveller nicknames “moleskines” his
favourite notebooks (the little black ones, with rounded corners...). In 1998, Modo&Modo (now Moleskine srl) chose
this literary name to bring back to life the little black notebook and decided to make a trademark of it, taking up a
dense tradition, renewing notebookism, and sensing that mobile technologies needed to be accompanied by essential
self-standing tools. With its various different page styles it accompanies the creative professions and has become a
symbol of contemporary nomadism. Today, Moleskine® is a family of notebooks for different functions, according to a
free mindstyle, both basic and emotional. www.moleskine.com ; www.moleskinecity.com
About Detour: Detour is a Moleskine project dedicated to travelling culture and creativity worldwide.
It features internationally recognized artists, architects, film directors, graphic designers, illustrators, and writers.

Poltrona Frau at the FIAC
“Made in Italy” design and know-how for the VIP lounges and reception rooms
of the International Contemporary Art Fair
Paris, 18-22 October 2007
Design and contemporary art. From 18 - 22 October 2007 Poltrona Frau is fitting out the lounge and VIP
reception rooms of the FIAC, the International Contemporary Art Fair, in Paris.
Considered as one of the most important events on the modern and contemporary art scene, the FIAC sees the
participation of the top art galleries from Europe, Asia and the USA. The 2007 fair will be held, for the second year,
inside the prestigious showcase of the Grand Palais and at the Cour Carrée du Louvre, right in the centre of Paris.
A selection of projects the most representative of Poltrona Frau will welcome visitors in the lounge and three VIP
reception rooms located at the entrance to the Grand Palais. A skilful mix of classic products and recent creations
representing the contemporary glamour of the brand.
Three colours dominate: white, black and red. For all of them, there is one and only protagonist: hand-sewn Pelle
Frau® leather, sensual and warm to the touch, exalted with the excellence of “made in Italy”, and the creative genius
of some of the most famous names of international design.
The space divides harmonious between areas reserved for relaxing, the sofa and new Kennedee armchairs by Jean
Marie Massaud in white or black leather with contrasting seams, and more intimate areas. Around major historic
designer pieces, like the mythic red leather Vanity Fair armchair or the classic Lyra, visitors will be able to discover
the rigorous lines of the new Peter Marino Linea A armchairs, in black leather and pony skin, as well as the welcoming
forms of Monica Förster’s Alone, in black or ivory leather.
There will be design creations presented as works of art. Actual installations on the podiums at the VIP entrance, for
example the Oceano travel trunk by Andrée Putman, created for the 2007 collection: an icon of the great transatlantic
voyages, an object taken from the memory for contemporary use.
The participation of Poltrona Frau at the FIAC continues in the restaurant of the Cour Carré du Louvre.
Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, a trademark of the Poltrona Frau Group, is fitting out the restaurant dining room
with some of its timeless design creations. The wooden steam curved Czech seats, with or without armrests, are
lacquered in red and white and are combined with the Rehbeintisch round white lacquered tables.
